A scenic cruise along Manchesters ship canal and river Irwell through the industrial heartland of the North of England.
The Cruise lasts between 65 and 70 minutes. You can do a return trip from Salford Quays or jump off at the city centre.
For us as a family of 8 we paid £48
£12 for each adult and £6 for 4 of our 6 children. Infants 0-2 are Free.

The river cruise does have a few steps to board the boat so there is no disability access. If you have a pushchair it must be folded but there was plenty of space on board to store ours.

There are two pick up points for the cruise; the City centre and Salford Quays. We boarded at Salford Quays which was sign posted but, if you are new to Manchester give yourself enough time to find the location.
The boat was clean and comfortable. It was a warm and sunny day so we sat down stairs for the departure trip and up on the top deck for the return journey.
The boat had a bar which served a selection of soft, alcoholic drinks and mainstream snacks.
The staff were accommodating and friendly giving lots of information alongside the audio tour guide which was delivered in English.

The Manchester River boat cruise was definitely worth every penny. We had a great afternoon learning about Manchester’s industrial past and exciting future.

After the cruise we finished the day with a walk through Spinningfields which had a beautiful outdoor space. We sat and had a picnic and enjoyed a glass of Prosecco before heading home.

Thank you to the Manchester City cruise team and staff for a wonderful afternoon. We appreciated the service with a smile. We will definitely be back to cruise with you again one day.
