I've given up paying for valve checks, they never need adjustment on the 3 vstroms I've had. As long as the ECU has been updated on the 1000 and the wiring harness issues have been dealt with they are great bikes. I'd highly recommend a Givi Airflow, cheap and transforms the bike for touring

Love to know how much the valve service cost. I paid £350 for mine and I had already replaced the brake pads.
