Demi Vollering drafted a little too much behind her SD Worx team car on the way back to the bunch during stage 5 of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift. The commissaires were not impressed and handed her a 20-second penalty!

    1. I mean it's normal to use SOME Draft while coming back after a defect and the car was actually the number 1 car, which was meant to be right behind the peloton but this was a bit extreme, they were even overtaking other riders.

    2. Cycling needs to clear up the drafting rules. Same with sticky bottles. It's odd because the UCI loves making arbitrary rules to remind the riders who's in control. Whether you have to get stickers on your frame, or riders prohibited from holding handle bars in certain positions, etc. Yet drafting and sticky bottles continues to be an enormous gray area.

    3. & the sticky bottle collection later was cheating, should have been given another time penalty & fine.
      Cheating cheating cheating

    4. That's normal in cycling. To get back in the peloton is hard without some help…I would change the rules about that if it is just a few seconds…

    5. Sorry, dipping in and out is okay, and moving up through the cars, but to sit on her own car all the way up is scandalous. People have been dq'd in the WC road race for this.

    6. The problem is using your own car to accelerate massively back to the bunch. If you made it back then worked through the cars it is fine.

    7. These 20 seconds penalty is a shame and a joke. Male riders do that all the time after a crash or flat tire…😮
DQ for Danny Stam is a joke too…..

    8. sure, way to end this nonsense is to let them use the cars to get back on all of them have bad luck. You’ll have to fine tune it but why not?

    9. Check the rules: she is allowed to draft, but not by a car overtaking the line-up. Therefore and only therefore is the penalty justified. All comments on drafting in general are by dummies.

    10. As deserved, the rules on drafting is very clear. They will turn a blind eye if you are jumping from one car to the next, but sitting behind is a no, no.
