I’m not sure where my comment went. I didn’t over torque this. I went to remove the water cage that I installed barely tightened and the paint took an impression of the Elite water cage. I was installing 3M wrap and had put on the cages for show over the winter but removed it to see that the mold imprints of the water cage. I’m shocked!
I’m going to install rubber gaskets to raise the water cage a mm but I was not expecting this at all. I had the sliver madone slr7 with the same water cages and this did not happen and that was tightened. I can’t recall if I had put the 3M on before water cage install that time.
I guess I’m used to my cervelo which has protruding screw bolts which prevents you from marring the paint.

Guessing maybe the paint hadn’t fully cured before the water bottle cage went on? Newly painted surfaces are soft for some period of time, but I’m not sure how long. Again just a guess.
