Hello, welcome back!

Feeling slightly better I headed to Iceland to race The Rift, a 200km race around an active volcano. It is one of the toughest races I have ever done. About 72km in I got a massive slice in the sidewall of my tyre, I had to come up with a way to fix it and finish the remainder the race.

Massive thanks to Marin Bikes for making this trip possible!

This is what my bike whoo that’s right but mine’s painted so I’m sure I can show you this one Oh my god I hope like an hour in a night I had to drop off the front group because I’m just sick still I’m dying I know we survived that but look at these views it’s so Alright so 734 meters climbed how many hours of young 34 miles any like 90 miles there hundreds elevation and when you put up your chest and face quite tight on the finding it so hard you know that I blurry video I said to me completely shameless plug but I’m currently a hundred eighty six meters after right and I’m wearing well this Jersey so they’re more Jersey convener and they’re like therefore gives So what aren’t you saying here that you can’t actually hear because if the wind is I about to tie an industry around my attire because we can’t avoid electric tape and I’ve got a rod 80 miles on it so let’s see if it works Oh season update because it would have

Stopped exhibitor Tyler I’m so cold Mike I talk bragging about how woman I slept until I like you stop but it looks like the sun’s coming out a bit so that’s good and the tire seems to be holding up but I’ve gotta ride really slowly and well please have got the tie

Hold together bite energy so it’s gonna be a long run but at least I’m riding sour China for the price side pitstop to be honest but you know whatever I’m riding it’s a beautiful country it’s a nice route it’s a bit bumpy this bit but trying to stay that all positive [Applause] The right drill bit of understate this is the crappiest Road I’ve ever ridden on oh my god it’s like bloody men Oh My bike survived and I’ve just written on the worst road in the world I might just stay here road anymore I’ve just been given the tire how sick is this I mean obviously I’m not gonna change my tire I’m just gonna die So my tires still coming out and I’m free mumbles there’s no James has been a legend chances carrying me the whole way chapeau 90 DB wait with me in the worst Webber whilst I fix the puncher and help me break my tire is now tracking me all

The way here later Oh is there a flag lindsey doe 3bb poppy trails off the trails lot of play on words alright 22 miles never done Right it actually like a little bit shorter my shorts in hundred twenty four miles maybe it was really hard actually I was like pretty pretty screwed and then having this sketchy rear tire lamar’s on that but James was also really carried me so far and it’s really

Nice of someone when you’re feeling down so like give you a bit of a pole and he like he’s playing me stronger than me any set of mine place which is really nice especially cuz I’m ill so thank you James there’s wicked fun feel quite nice now I

Finished now I’m gonna definitely go get some food I’ve actually gotten beer I won’t leave I accept any font you down feel it kind of really want to bear yeah so I will see you’re saying exes drive by and by

  1. Fair play Dave, you rode across the Moon/Mars when still ill and with a proper 'get home' bodge which held up proper. Good stuff, nice tunes too.

  2. Top vlog again buddy, you can keep that filthy gravel stuff though looks like your riding through a war zone. Hope to see you back on the nice clean fixie soon 😘

  3. Bloody fair play Dave bodge it and plod on 😂 😂 😂 😂 your nuts 😂 can’t believe that tyre held up astonishing 😂 big thumbs up 👍 ya mate too
Iceland 🇮🇸 looked so not what I expected
    Top blog matey 😎 😎

  4. It looks incredible but man, I just have no interest in being stuck by a creek with a gashed sidewall freezing. That inner tube solution was brilliant.

  5. Great video Dave! I met you out on the course a few times – there is no way I could have finished with that cough. And then that tire! Amazing perseverance!

  6. Good choice for the music, especially the first half as it added to the foreboding atmosphere and your impending Tyre slash. Glad you made it – that's a long distance off road even if you're feeling great, let alone ill!!

  7. Great video, came here via the GCN video of the same event, think your's probably reflects the actual difficulty of the event. Looks incredible though.
