Everyone was looking each other kind of uh everyone was quite you know down you know it’s like what what what the hell just happened it felt like we were we were in the group better just kind of unbelievable yeah I don’t I don’t really know what to say to be honest like just

What the what do you say to him after that what the what signs do you take out of this race because you are on the up and up maybe in a good trajectory towards these the big one day races yeah yeah yeah for

Sure I was good today but you know I was um I waited too long I I you know when he when they went I was like okay right we we there’s no point in even going here like it’s 80k to go I was racing

Like a was ATK to go like I was on the back I was I was not going into the red people were just going off like it was the old the old uh yeah circuit and yeah I was just waiting but I waited too long in the end

And um yeah that’s a shame but yeah I think uh also the yeah everyone was just it was just dead bodies racing no one had the legs to even respond no no and it was that’s it’s a shame really it it was uh you know if you had if you had 30

40K flat you know then you then you uh can make the race longer but if you had 30 40K of the same sort of racing it’s you’re not really racing anymore it’s more like a Iron Man or something well we heard from Tom pitock he was he said WTF when T pachar

Rode away and so did all the other is right over my shoulder here is mate morit I mean there was nothing to be done he’s the number one of cycling he’s uh he’s also yeah been leading the classification of w tour since few years so uh he just proves over and over again

That he has uh a little bit more than everyone else and then it’s also simple to to race and to win when he also has a nice team support the team did a perfect job for him today and delivered him before his attack and then obviously

Once he’s clear we all know know he can uh go very long for very hard and he was riding what for him is steady tempo in the front and we were just uh looking at each other and and attacking and then spiking that much that also inevitably

Leads to yeah uh a lot of fatig in your legs towards the final so yeah we witnessed a beautiful ride here on television uh back behind as you mentioned UAE with wellin Del torto they really set it up how did it play out for you yourself and the team I mean the

Weather just on and off all day out there for you guys the weather was actually pretty terrible compared to what the forecast said uh but I was super focused on the race I think uh we did a nice ride today together with the team they helped me out to before before

The day made his move and uh I saved quite a bit of energy I was quite efficient and then after the day was clear I focused on uh trying to score a Podium I think it was within the reach today but yeah I just uh came in a bit

Short uh missed the winning move or the the the move that still scored the podium and uh yeah uh fifth place is still a good result it gives me confidence for the Belgium campaign also because everyone around me was mostly climbers and GC specialist not uh the

Classic specialist so yeah uh we’ll see I have uh some other goals now uh coming with Sano and then uh Belgium classic so I’m motivated to do well well there you go former winner of Milano Sano mat hedge kind of recapping the day the bad weather the Riders had out there today

As well remember sunny conditions after days of raining they started Under the Sun then the rain came again in fact on that Monte Santa Maria sector when uh just after they caught Quinn Simmons and UAE was pulling and it was all together on that sector and then we

Saw T A launch and when he launched it was raining the conditions were tough it was muddy and it was a moment for t a yeah it was one of the plans that he would attack on Santa Marie but was not the head plan the head plan was um that

We would ride a very strong Tempo and to be as many as possible of the team after Santa Marie but uh we also talked about the fact that he could attack there and that’s what he did did you enjoy any way that was nice to see the for me the best

Moment was that when T attacked suddenly had like 2 minutes and in the back we were not like riding easy after a moment we start to look at each other but before that was impressive how many uh minutes he took easily thank you very are you still impressed by T I mean all

Of us thinks that okay this is T this is what he does but I mean come on this is an 81 km attack the thing is I’m sometimes close with him on training and then um he impresses me already so we knew we had a big chance to win today

But to win with so many minutes it stays impressive yes I mean you’re impressed and what are you going to say to him back at the bus big congrats he makes he makes our life easy mark what do you have to say 81 km solo have

You heard the news and such a mega move by T today yeah I don’t know exactly where he went but mon Santa Maria on the stiffest hardest part under the rain as well no for us actually wanted to wait a bit but uh they start to attack full gas

And then they just start Tim will he followed and he explode the bunch and then uh yeah I just know that he goes solo I mean you’re a star Rider you look around SE C A Star Rider let us STS are here but T just does something kind of

Different a level above everybody are you that impressed by him yeah for sure I mean uh we know that he was he’s super strong he actually is very impressive he’s always super strong doesn’t matter if he race or come from training um so it’s just another show from him uh his

Show again that uh he’s yeah if this is the best did you have fun out there because it looks like your bike needs a good cleaning laundry needs to be done a proper race yeah it was super hard also then it start to rain and uh I did this

Race three times and this for me definitely one of the hardest races all the fans here in Piaza Delo in the center of Sienna this is where the horse RAC has run twice a year they’re getting ready for the podium ceremony we heard from M morit we also heard

From we also heard from pachar teammates wellin and Mark Hershey even they’re impressed by what T can do there we have it the top three they’re drinking their champagne prco on the podium pachar celebrating after listening to the national anthem of slovania on his side there is Tom skin

On the other side third place on the day the Belgian Maxim van gills we’re heading back into the mix Zone over here where we’re hoping to get a word with t a I wish you scale this one oh yeah for sure this is uh yeah big

Big victory um I must say that uh yeah um after uh some changes in my uh in my um in my career this through this winter and uh I must say that I’m really happy that uh it worked off all the all the hard work and yeah it’s a special

Victory uh anyway and uh it’s a beautiful beautiful race so yeah uh I must say I’m yeah I’m super happy the team work today was incredible the race uh conditions were uh amaz like uh just chaotic and the race itself is always incredible so and also the

Atmosphere it was one of the best in I see in Italy ever so far so yeah um the last two sectors um how is called PTO and and to LOL was was super experienc super atmosphere never ever I seen this in in Italy in any Race So I must say

That uh cycling in in Italy is coming back to life and it’s good to see solo of 81 kilomet it’s yeah it’s a little bit crazy yeah it’s it’s crazy and uh yeah not not nice not every moment every kilometer is not nice but in the end it

Was worth it and uh didn’t it scare you when you were ahead and it was so long so long to the Finish Line yeah sure uh yesterday in the meeting also we were saying yeah don’t uh do anything stupid don’t go too far from too far from the

Finish and uh yeah I had this in my mind and yeah but I just uh I knew that Santa Maria especially in these conditions that we had today was uh it’s the hardest point of the race and uh for me it’s the most suitable so I can make a

Difference there I cannot make a big difference on the other climbs that comes after so it’s uh perfect place for me to to try to make the difference so you told it before the race that you want to attack over there yeah that was

A joke that was a joke you you had time to stop for a slice of pizza yes I think uh yeah today I’m going to I’m going to enjoy Sienna a little bit uh for the first time in my career think so we saw some fun moments there on the TR it

Looked like you were yelling and smiling back to some Slovenian fans or family and then also another moment where a guy was trying to high five you it looked like he was high-fiving you in your head um yeah I uh yeah um the last two

Sectors is is it PSO the second and yeah and L uh it was incredible atmosphere so many slovenians so many supporters there and it was just uh yeah the second time I was coming through there it was just a really crazy experience um and yeah a lot I see a lot

Of uh friendly faces a lot of uh people that I knew and uh yeah uh my uh my my old coach my first coach was again just like two years ago before 1 kilometer to the Finish he was there and uh yeah I remember two years ago it was the same

Uh same spot same high five and uh yeah it was uh beautiful and surely your other Rivals will be taking note Remco yonas and RL will be taking note of this today um I okay now I was a little bit confused surely your other Rivals will

Be taking note today yeah um yeah I have been taking notes they for sure they taking notes or they just don’t care I don’t know uh but uh yeah I think uh we will see next time uh next races I think uh yeah every every one of them

Already showed how good they are and uh yeah uh it’s going to be fantastic year for everybody I think uh like uh same like few now for the all the years before do you do you surprise yourself today that you’re already that good that you’re already that strong I I think yes

Uh yeah I was not expecting to be so comfortable on the bike today and uh I think yeah it helps that uh yeah I had a little bit of change of the winter and uh leave B different preparation so I think uh yeah I was not expecting at all

Uh the shape like this so I’m super super happy I can uh that’s what I can say I’m uh yeah extraordinary happy one short question after the Finish Line everybody already was talking about Milano Sano The Clash with mat V and already with rco and uh and the other and mat

Vpol what do you expect of that kind of races well the legs uh from today I can uh discard them because I don’t need them in s Remo those kind of legs I need uh I need a a few extra power uh wats on

The short climbs so yeah I be I I will be training a little bit for sunano but uh it’s not a priority and uh yeah I will I’m I’m looking forward for sunano actually but uh yeah it’s one of the the races that doesn’t suit me at all so

Yeah I just uh want to go there give it uh 100% to try to make a difference but uh we will see I think uh it’s possible with a good team and I think we will have good team there so let’s let’s see what will happen enjoy this Victory

Italian he’s of course Slovenian but he was the hot favorite coming into this race he was the 2020 2021 tur of France winner he was the rider who smashed all those Classics last year from Flanders amsdell gold race flesh and also along the way at the end of the season after

Finishing second in the tur of France winning lombardia and in fact it was lombardia his last race of the season he hadn’t raced in around three and a half months officially but he’d been training hard he’d been training hard in Monaco and at training camps to be ready for

This day doing intensity training there we see the slovenians to be ready on day one of his 2024 campaign and you’d have to roll it back and you’d have to look at the numbers and we’ve done that we’ve done that in the last four years he’s

Won his first race of the season and well last year it was a gravel race I think it was or one of those races over in Spain or Portugal the year before it was the UAE tour not on day one but he won the overall the first race of the

Season every year for four years and that says a lot about t pachar also the distance in which he went today 81 kmet when he went I wanted to have a word with SE cus but it turned out he left the race early as did a lot of the

Riders and headed right towards the bus and didn’t come across the the Finish Line because he was the last one there to try to follow T pachar when he launched on the Monte Santa Maria climb on the gravel under the rain he looked around after trying to follow Tad’s

Wheel for a little bit and said I cannot do it the other Riders looked around said we cannot do it we heard what Tom Pitcock said he said WT I cannot do it and these are star Riders these are champions but as Maxim vanill said we

Just spoke with him and T over them mix zone tday is on another level an 81 km escape and as I mentioned before we don’t see escapes like this very often in cycling a power move and that’s what it was here today in Sienna calling back

To the days of of Eno in the AG St age FR in 2018 and Remco EV a Po’s move at the beginning of the 2023 season T pachar put the markers down today he doesn’t know if those other tour to France Rivals will be watching but I can
