Chris I think the last time we spoke there was some kind of bad injury news about uh norwington Davidson Low um anything new on uh injuries with regard to this match this weekend as you can imagine I’m not going to give anything away um game’s hard enough as well

Without letting um everybody else know what our business is um I what I would say is that there’s been progression uh with uh with two or three of the players whether be involved in the weekend on Sunday afternoon we’ll wait and see but we’ll leave it to the

Last minute but um and as as we know it’s it’s not a great situation to be in at the moment we felt as if we’ve you know we took a couple of steps forward and some some big ones backwards and um as I said this morning when I U speaking

To my friend over there um you know to to be our best we need consistency we need continuity we need to be able to work on the training ground with those players and uh and when you can’t it obviously makes makes life a little bit more difficult for you um when you speak

Of players coming back might they involve because I was going to talk about some of the long-term ones and maybe address the eagens of this world and wonder if there was a a time scale on them coming back into the reing yeah there’s no time scale if uh if JN gets

Back before the end of the season he’s he’ll have done remarkably well um so but he’s he’s he’s pushing for that as he is because of his attitude and we all know what a personality and character he is um obviously Basham situation um from

From his point of view is a is a long way off you know just getting back to to living a normal life really is is the main target for for him and and our medical staff um Tom Davis obviously has been playing in terms of coming back

From the injury situation that he had how close is he maybe to 90 minutes yeah I mean that’s that’s the dilemma now when when when do we go with with with Tom and and give him his his his first start under me so yeah he’s been he’s

Got got on the pitch at Len got on the pitch uh last week um so um that is um that’s going to be the the uh the question um from from our point of view uh when do we we I suppose talking in old money we’d

Have loved him to have a couple of Reserve team games but obviously the situation with with with that is a little bit more difficult and little bit more complex as well so uh but you know he’s he’s been bright around the place he’s he’s obviously another player that

We that the club have have missed hugely through uh through his Premier League experience but he’s been around it which has been really good and he’s um he’s a real good character and a personality uh and uh and him being around around the group and speaking and uh and and having

The feel of a premier league player in your ranks is is is is is beneficial and and more beneficial obviously when we can get him on the pitch and more beneficial when we can get him to start again I appreciate you’re not going to say who but is it even a dilemma with

Regard to the selection of the goalkeeper or do you just go same as well I could do or I could change that’s what I mean is it a dilemma for you it’s a decision yeah it’s a decision have you have you have you made that decision yeah I have made that decision yeah

Right okay um oie AR Blaster signed his contract this week I think it’s something’s been rumbling for a while what is it about him that you guys see cuz he there’s been sort of discussions about him being pretty good for about 18 months two years now so what is it that

Is there with him he’s pretty good um I I personally think think a lot about him um know known and watched his his his progression um through the academy uh here and uh and even at International level so for him to be playing on that

Stage shows that he’s he’s got a lot of uh lot of qualities um local boy uh Chef United F which obviously it goes down tremendously well with myself uh and and the football club and the supporters as well we’re delighted to sign o up you

Know there’s been a lot of lot of talk about him and and a lot of noise um and the noise is because he’s a really good player um and now yet again with the dilemas that we that we all have as managers is is when to when to give him

The that opportunity to uh to get himself going and up up and running as a as a Sheffield United player so of course he’s always he’s he’s in our thoughts now we we watched him closely out on Port Vale he had a fantastic loan period there was a couple of clubs that

Wanted to take him in the championship we wanted him in and around us um and knowing that uh that he’ll play a part in the second part of the Season unfortunately he had that injury uh in his final game against midd win the cup so is me and Jack leser satting the

Stands and looking at each other thinking you know delighted to get blasted back and then all of a sudden he’s getting carried off uh but he’s overcome all that he’s back back out on the grass now and he’s pushing and um and as I’ve said all along ande you know

I I want I want as many difficult decisions as possible I want everybody to push I want to to to to make sure that you know we have that competition want to you know make those difficult decisions that some players won’t be happy about but I rather have them than

The than the uh than the situation that um has has has been happening for for a long long time at this football club um you instigated a turnaround after the Villa performance to then get the results at lot and what’s been done this week to get a turnaround performance

After the result last week for yeah I listen you know I’m not I’m not shying away from any anything and I I will take full responsibility what happened at at vill and the narrative will be as I said in the press conference was the defeat against Brighton in the cup and

Everybody will look at it different ways the defeat against Viller and a defeat against Brighton in the in in the league you know I look at it a different way I’m not trying to protect the players I’m looking it a different way thought the score line was unjust in the cup

Game we went for it and we conceded two late goals we’ve uh We’ve not a full full full it team out against Villa there’s no getting away from the fact that they went 40 up in double quick time and absolutely punish us for our our mistakes and it was a really long

Difficult evening and we get a man sent off against Brighton on on on Saturday and uh concede two quick goals understandable uh not acceptable but understanding that not understandable is the wrong word to be fair understanding that that has happened and how do we recover from it um can we take the game

Deep which we did 75 76 minutes and then and obviously the situation that we’re trying to rectify is you know the the quick goals that are going in and the the trend that that is happening um so you know you’ll look at it from one way

I’ll look at it for the players have given everything is there an absolute crisis on our an here no it was a disappointing afternoon only three points lost though um we were desperate for a um for uh another result off the back of a really good one at Luton of

Course back-to-back results in the Premier League are huge we didn’t get it all the other teams near enough lost on on on the weekend around us so that doesn’t that doesn’t make it acceptable but it’s three points lost and we have to go again for the uh for the points on

Um on uh on on Sunday afternoon so um of course disappointed but um you know we have to go again not feel sorry for ourselves Nobody’s going to help us all the stuff that we all talk about you know uh people will be talking about as yet again the narrative about the goals

Conceded and they’re gone and you know you’ve just got to get back on get back on the bike and we’ve had a decent week we’ve had players back as we talked about from from from an injury point of view the boys have been nice and bright

Um and um and the only way that they they can affect anything is is their performance during the week their attitude during the week um moral has been good and uh and we take that into the game on Sunday afternoon you’ve spoken uh recently about your concerns

About the quickfire nature of some of the goals how can you address that in a training scenario because the heat of a match day and all of that it can just happen sometimes well you can talk to the players in the small sided games you can put restrictions on it you can you

Can identify that that moment even in a small sidy game you know when one goes in you know what’s the mindset now so messages you know video analysis um um getting together what do we do to you know that uh to to help us in that

Situation I think as we talked about the the odds you know when you go one n down and two n down in quick succession and sort of escalate for you to get back into the game so makes it really difficult so that’s something that you know I think we all recognize and

Realize between n the end of the season we’re going to concede but it’s it’s the manner of the goals that that that concern me they’re not great goals that are going in and it’s the quick succession that we we have to deal with to uh to give us you know a fighting

Chance of getting back into the game and getting some from it from it and against the Wolves team who you’re looking to do the the double over what what’s your assessment of them right now well yeah I mean um an established Premier League Football Club um some um

Some major players uh there settled settled uh settled group um big Club in the in in in the Premier League and um and had some fantastic results this season so uh um you know there’s no difference to to to going to Chelsea to going to wolves you

Know to to to go going anywhere in his division every every opposition pop prob uh pose a huge challenge for us at at this stage of the season and and and the way we are at this at this stage in terms of um uh you know our our sort of

Standing so best of luck to you mate thanks demo um I know you’ve had your say about Mason Holgate sending off I just wondered if he he now has a bit of a job of work to to win back your trust and and confidence and that of the

Players as well his teammates yeah he he he does you know he’s um he he understood it he understood straight away you know um he’s not jumping through oops it was you know looking back and and we all look at it when it gets slowed down it looks a lot worse

Than than what it was got so you know delighted that Moma you know obviously never suffered some any sort of injury or or or or if it did it was it was minimal and and we understand you know that the The Reckless attitude of of of of the

Challenge the the mistiming of of it all and uh and the sort of out of control bit so he he understands that he spoke to the group he spoke to me he spoke to staff and he’s he has to deal with it um it’s a Mis Time Tackle and a little bit

More and you know uh the referee eventually makes that right decision and um and we lose a player uh for three games but he’ll work hard in that in that period his experienced Pro won’t be the first time he’s been sent off and he has to come back and when um and show

The qualities that you know we feel he’s he’s got inside him um and that’s made him you know the sort of player playing in heaven and uh and the career that he’s had how would you assess the work the job that um that the walls manager Gary O’Neal’s done a rare thing a

British manager doing do very well in the Prem yeah I mean it can be really I think everybody thought it was uh it was uh maybe not the not the right decision in terms of the decision that was made at Bournemouth and and is a smart had a

Had a great career and a smart football guy you know um done his his work in the academy uh Liverpool and worked his way through at Bournemouth to given that OPP opportunity to Bournemouth to to to put his put his seal on it put his mark on

It and he’s he’s certainly doing that with um a very a very very talented Squad that he’s got at wolver ampton wandas

    1. Chris – make sure that you take a packed lunch with you for the trip to Wolverhampton and offer all the match day officials a sandwich before the game otherwise they will have the COB on with you 😆.
Just 12 games left after the game against Wolves at the Weekend, time to start giving the upcoming young players Premier League experience to take into next season.

    2. For me it's all about next season now cus we're a million miles away a competing in this league with our current squad, f@cking huge summer rebuild needed and I back CW 100%. UTBFTP

    3. Tom Davies starts this weekend I think.
Hamer hasn't been at it but possibly playing with Davies on the left souza in middle and hamer on the right.

Love that arblaster has signed a new deal, along with some of the other youngsters.

I think now it's time to focus on contracts for the deals expiring in the summer, I don't think they should be announced until the end of the season, though.

    4. Still want Wilder in charge next season no matter what happens this season. Can't go through a stage of different managers implementing different ideas coz thats what put us in League 1 in first place especially after Warnock so dont let history repeat itself

    5. WILDER POLISHING A TURD .. hopefully wendys stay up so we get to demolish that massive turd next season .. build for next season and then push on .. up the mighty blades COYRAWW.. YOU FILL UP MY …….

    6. Utter ‘local boy, United fan’ twaddle. It makes no difference whatsoever. You expect such nonsense from daft fans but it seems we have an equally daft manager. Wilder Out.

    7. Poor recruitment, an owner with no money and no ambition. I've already stopped watching this season. Respect to anyone who still puts up with this bullshit. P.S. Whoever decided to bring in Mason Holgate deserves to be sacked.
