In the summer of 2016, our family biked across Northern Europe on two tandem bikes. We started in Amsterdam and bicycled across the Netherlands, Northern Germany, Sweden and finally ended up in Copenhagen, Denmark.
In this video we bike from Amsterdam across the Netherlands.

I like I like I like I like I like to ride my bicycle bicycle. I like I like I like I like I like to ride my bike. In the summer of 2016 our family rode tandem bikes from Amsterdam to Copenhagen.
We threw our bikes in these two boxes loaded them on the plane and when we arrived in Amsterdam we assembled them right in the Amsterdam Airport and then rode right away from the airport to Amsterdam which was about 20 kilometers
From the airport which was a pretty exciting thing to do right after an all-night flight. As a family we’ve been preparing for this bike tour for quite some time. We’ve been doing bigger and bigger tours over the years starting off
With ones that were about 40 or 50 kilometers and then graduating two ones that are about 300. This tour is many firsts for us. It’s by far the biggest tour we’ve ever done. It’s also the first time we’ve traveled overseas with our
Bikes and it’s also the first time we’ll have travel to several countries. On this tour we are going through four countries. This is the road I saw. Amsterdam. This way. That was a hill. That’s a Dutch hill. And a German hill? German hills are little bigger.
Here’s our first bird. It’s a crow. Oooo. It’s big. here we are in Amsterdam. I’m just going to give you a little tour of our Airbnb. Here we go. This is the location. It’s a great place we could put and come in and put
Our bikes in here. Here are the boys. Alright. It’s kind of one room here. There’s one bathroom. I think Lisa is in there now so you all won’t get to see that. this is the master bedroom there’s a little Amsterdam style backyard here a little
Bit smallish. Here’s Jake. It’s his twin brother right there and oh it’s a lovely view up here. come out here and get a look at the view. there you go. lovely kitchen and stove here we spent a few days in Amsterdam getting acclimatized
To the new time zone. we got a great time taking it all the sights this incredible city has to offer And of course there are lots of bicycles. there we go now it’s time for us to begin our ride
The first day we rode to Zwolle. I like I like I like I like I like to ride my bike. I like I like I like I like I like to ride my bike. I like a like a like a
Like I like to ride my bike I like a like a like I like I like to ride my bike I got fancy little streamers coming out of my handlebars I got cards in my spokes that make sounds as I pass the cars I got lights all around
And reflectors in the back A basket on the front and a really useful rack. I’ve been riding my bicycle for oh so many years I’ve had coaster breaks, tricycles and many many gears. Wow. It’s a completely separated bike bridge. I like I like I like I like to ride my bike.
I like I like I like I like to ride my bike. I like I like I like I like to ride my bike. I’d rather burn some fat than some oil any day. it was a long hot ride. What we thought would be a hundred kilometers turned into
One hundred and ten after a couple of detours. We arrived at Zwolle, a beautiful medieval town. The next day we rode to Hardenberg which is right near the German border. This was an amazing day of riding. Most of the day we spent riding on
Little tiny dirt path off in the forest. All of these little paths appearing on Google maps. Subscribe to our channel to see the rest of our journey. Our next video will take us across northern Germany. I like I like I like I like to ride my bike. Bicycle. Bicycle.
I like I like I like I like to ride my bike.

Nice cycle lanes everywhere.
Great to see a US cycle family cycling through (part of) Europe.
I am Dutch. As such here is a tip for the next time you might be cycling through The Netherlands.
Forget google maps. Use the Dutch "LF" routes instead. LF stands for "Landelijke Fietsroute". Translated "rustic cyclelane route". It is more scenic, more quiet, and often for bicycles only (no motor roads near it).
For "LF" routes, see: http://www.hollandcyclingroutes.com/
Look for "Long-distance routes".
For (local) day trips you can use the number system. See, among others:

Why wearing those silly hats…. Like all the Dutch: feel the wind in the hair while riding a bicycle, a very important part of cycling!
Very interesting statistics: Dutch cycling figures: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDlmn-Ipdns
Zwolleis not pronounced "Zwollay", it is Zwolle, with emphasis on "uh".
Great video, glad you like the Netherlands! Is there really such a thing as a cross Canada cycle route?
Interesting video, great music, I love it !
nice video… btw, would you subscribe my channel… *pliz
Amsterdam to English speakers Emstardem is the correct pronunciation
I live south of Zwolle but we have those dirt paths here too through the forest. The area I live in is called 'Achterhoek'. Very beautiful and a lot of castles. Maybe a tip for the next time? Enough B & B's here too
Great! Bedankt voor de ondertitrls!

Challenging but fun 😍
Is that music made by you guys as a family? I love it! I'm rocking to it! we are ordering a tandem bike … (you know that voice in your head going, "I will not buy another bike. I will not buy another bike. I will not buy another bike. I will not buy another bike!!!") –> welp, that didn't work. I love biking, my little one would only "love it" if we are on the "same" bike. We refuse to get on a single bike. So? As a great parent like myself, I have no choice but to buy a new toy for the both of us, no? buah ha ha … (I say that because it's more like a toy for ME! lol) It is e-assist , and it folds, it is custom made in Eugene, OR (but you already know who I ordered it from! Bike Friday). Can't wait.
What did you do with your bike boxes after all the tandem ones not easy to get
Beautiful film
