Maybe legs aside, road cyclists are certainly not known for having muscles. Bodybuilders on the other hand, are all about strength and massive muscles. You could say that bodybuilders and cyclists are polar opposites. Well then, what would happen if a bodybuilder went head-to-head with a cyclist? Hank and Ollie met champion bodybuilder Brad Parker for some challenges!

What other challenges would you like to see us do with Brad?
Türkçe altyazı istiyoruz!
I (avid cyclist) trained with a powerlifter, (I.E. different gravy from bodybuilding) and got my leg press up to 1000lbs pretty easily. BTW never lock your knees straight (like you did in this video) when leg pressing- you can blow out your knees backward easily when you are near your limit, there are vids of people doing exactly that. Keep them slightly bent. Anyway my point was I was easily able to make incredible gains in powerlifting on legs and back because of years of cycling, but was anemic in gains on my upper body even with a world record holder trainer professional training me. I was able to train fast twitch muscle fibers in my legs to gain in explosive power as a result and because I did so many sets (10+) and reps(10-50) with heavy weight and was able to get endurance with the power as well. There are gains to be had as a cyclist in powerlifting but genetics, form and nutrition put a glass ceiling on your top peak ability ultimately IMO.
This is cool because it's been something I've been wondering
These are two totally different disciplines. It is good to see one trying the other! On a bike, all that muscle weight is a disadvantage.
They are one hour unbeliveably good and then drop to drain…
Give him a week of riding to get his legs and see the difference
Reminds me of a Scottish games event I visited. They had a tug-of-war between a bunch of bodybuilders and a bunch of beer-belly, cigar smoking Scotsmen. It was a draw for a few minutes then the Scots got bored and yanked the bodybuilders across the line.
Next, Ollie vs. triathlete!
I feel like Brad could have finished the climb some minutes earlier had somebody explained him how a bike's gears work and that you sometimes have to stand up and pedal
But why did the Bodybuilder lose that bad?
that is bad side of high force production for short times, in the long run youre running out of gas and big muscles need more oxygen
When climbing a trained lightweight cyclist will probably be the best. Good old power to weight ratio
that was funny stuff guys! and just shows sport specificities eh? how about squash professional v tennis professional v cycling professional in terms of vo2 or 400-800m sprints on track and on the bike?
Ahah I thought I could detect that Bristolian
I wish all bodybuilders could experience something like this. Every Bodybuilder is talking about how hard the sport is. Do some cardio sport, then you know what hard is 😊
gym fit but road useless….but thats bodybuilders, people think they are fit but all they do i meander round a gyym posing and building muscle which is no good for extended sports such as running and cycling…..fit bikes, zwift etc etc are no comparison for the road itself……
Body builder has no cycling experience and technique, this test was unfair 🙂
Can someone tell me please, what brand is the backpack at 10:50? @gcn
How about a sprint after he gets clipless pedals?
Apples 'n pears TBH 😉
he breaks the bike?
I don't like this video. I came to see a big bulky man on a bike. But most of this was just body type comparisons and my adhd can't handle that
0:08 …. "but t"….lol
Man nice guy for participating. Loving it
"looks good, doesn't work" -D. J. Trump
How is this possible.
Lost 20 kg, now I fly!
Same with running a bodybuilder is not built for endurance someone with less asthetic looks with embarrass these guys
Why does that happen? I guess I have to do my research.
This wasn't fair! A time trial on the flat would be more honest or even sprinting competition. Brad was defeated by the sheer mass of his musculature.
How about Brad against a mtber – Richard or Neil or Blake
funny contest. bodybuilder sits on a bike while pedaling and cyclist literally walks while pedaling. huge diff and latter is easier.
Big guys = no cardio useless athleticism 😂😂😂😂😂
All them steds just make you weak, slow and useless in most sports.
It would have been funny if they secretly gave him a high end e bike.
Right after Ollie took off they should have swapped Brad's bike with an e road bike in the same look.
I'd think a sprint would be the obvious comparison, this was far too predictable.
the skinny guy cheated he was standing up where as bodbuilder was sat down
Useless muscles. Saw 3 body builders hopping into the 50 pool, like windmills for 25 meters, then they all died, no stamina at all. Useless
Very entertaining
that was fun. Brad seems like a good dude.
Put Robert förstermann against you
its astonishing to see in the comments how few people understand basic physics.
So I'm confused, he says he "does A lot of cardio" but he hasn't been on a bike in 6years…I'm pretty sure he doesn't run….
So what cardio does he do….?
He don't have clip in pedals 😅
A bit of technique goes a long way, and progression is very fast for beginners. I bet he could get that down to 7 minutes or less with some heal down pedal round and more time in the saddle.
I feel bad for the bodybuilder!
