So over the last little while I’ve kept my eye on ebay and the local marketplace and I’ve happened across a couple of absolute bargains so I upgraded the brakes on my dual sport 3
The bike is my commuter but I do carry some heavy camera gear on it from time to time and I’ve found the brakes that come with it quite spongy and overall a bit crap for my liking, especially when it was loaded up.
Bear in mind I also ride a mountain bike with magura MT7s and my roadies have either been sram red or dura ace hydraulic so I’m used to having good stopping power.
Anyway it now stops on a dime and the brake feel has improved infinitely.
Dura ace 9100 calipers and XT M8100 Levers
For anyone looking to do a similar swap, it was very easy. You just need a set of BH90 barbs and olives for front and rear and the shimano SM-MA-R160-DD adapter for the rear caliper.
