  1. I see you’re in Long Beach, if you decide to sell, I might be interested! If not, enjoy the bike!

  3. I’d say keep it. A few of my thoughts:
    – you have customized this bike in every way to make it good for you! It’s going to take a lot to do that on a new bike
    – you have a rlly nice color of bike that will be hard to find
    – is there a bike out there that’s “better?” I have an Emonda and although it’s not my favorite bike ever, what is going to beat it? Maybe if you want to move to an aero bike that’s an option, but a lot of bikes in the years 2023/2024 look the same.
    – this bike is perfectly modern so I think you should keep riding it until the next big crazy thing comes out! (Maybe it’s the new madone coming in a few months 🤫 )

If you are gonna sell, sell soon the new gen emonda or whatever their moving towards will release this year and affect your sale price substantially

  6. I commented on your other post about the Madone and seeing this one with an Emonda…..you got money money lol. Anyways if you can comfortably keep both than keep them. This one is also a solid bike and a recent model so really no need to upgrade if you are planning on it. Riders always dream to have a climbing bike and aero bike in their lineup

Trek does some of the best paint jobs in the industry.

    ….

About the bike…. The question is whether you will ride it every now and then or not. The other question is whether you need money. …. But selling used bikes is always a “lose money” thing…

  8. You have some pretty cool looking bikes.

If you put a reasonable price on them I’m sure you’d get someone to pick them up. The reason being is I’m one of those people.

If there are specific reasons for keeping I’d say the only reason would be if you’re going to use your bikes. As either back up or main riders they’re both great

I just went through this dilemma. I moved to an area a couple years ago where I can’t really ride my road bike the same way that I used to. It’s very hilly here, and I used to ride on flat recreational paths with a Specialized Venge. It’s got a 52/36 chain ring set in the front, a 11-28 cassette, and a rather aggressive posture. It wasn’t made to be a great climber.

So, I recently bought a Trek DS3, which is perfect for the hilly and curvy terrain near my new house, and I intended on selling my Venge. Upon exploring the new area I’m in with my DS3 I discovered some routes that my old road bike would do well on and decided to brush off the dust and take it out again.

I had a lot of fun on it. I am also aware that I wouldn’t even get probably 1/4 of the price of my Venge when it was new if I sold it. So, basically I slept on it for a bit and fell back in love with my road bike. Maybe try that. Especially if you’re not going to get a price for it that’s worth it to you.

  10. Subjective. I find the paint too full on and attention seeking, but I appreciate how good the bikes are and the workmanship that went into the paint!

    Keep it!
Your new Madone, is stunning! Nevertheless, your old Emonda is a beautiful bike that has its own individual character and associated nostalgia that cannot be replaced.
I now have 5 Trek bikes and have never had the heart to sell any of them – and never will – because each and every one of them hold precious memories (both happy and sad) of the times when I rode them. They are, in that way, a kind of diary that take me back to those times, every occasion when I lovingly carry out periodic maintenance or ride them, for old times sake.
