Lacoste is a picturesque village in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region in southeastern France. Lacoste is famous for its stunning views of the surrounding countryside, with vineyards, olive groves, and lavender fields. The village is perched on a hill, offering panoramic views of the Luberon mountains.
Lacoste has a population of approximately a few hundred people (about 500). One of the most iconic landmarks in Lacoste is the Château de Lacoste, dating back to the 11th century. The most infamous resident of the Château de Lacoste was Donatien Alphonse François, better known as the Marquis de Sade.
Marquis de Sade acquired the castle in the late 18th century and lived there for several periods between his numerous incarcerations. In the 20th and 21st centuries, Lacoste has also been associated with the fashion designer Pierre Cardin.
Carden purchased Château Lacoste and began the restoration process to revitalize the cultural heritage of the village. His efforts have helped to preserve the historical integrity of Lacoste while introducing a new chapter in its development. Cardin also initiated an annual festival of music and theatre, adding to the cultural richness of the village.
Lacoste’s charm is amplified by its traditional Provencal architecture, narrow cobbled streets, and stone houses. All of this has remained virtually unchanged over the centuries. Today Lacoste continues to attract artists, students, and tourists by its historical legacy, cultural vitality, and the serene beauty.
Lacoste has the campus of Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). SCAD Lacoste is housed in a collection of meticulously restored medieval buildings that span the village. These historic structures have been converted into classrooms, studios, galleries, and residences halls.
The restoration of the historic buildings and the influx of students and faculty from around the world have revitalized the area. There is a vibrant community of artists and creatives here. Lacoste is also part of the greater Luberon area, known for its outstanding natural beauty and protected landscapes.
The region is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, offering numerous hiking trails, cycling routes, and spots for picnicking amidst nature. It is a tranquil, unique place in the heart of Provence. Here you can enjoy a relaxed pace of life, immerse yourself in the natural beauty and historical features of the region.

great stuff, but the colors are really off. we were there 20 days before you. Great stuff again, subscribed.
Beautiful but I'm getting sick of their yellow paint being splashed everywhere(3 YT videos in 2 days) and ruining the paths! I'd rather see the stone's natural colour. Well that's my opinion anyway!
