The Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer represents the brand’s first foray into the electric car segment. It joins the brand’s lineup of traditional engine wagons: the Golf Variant, Passat Variant, and Arteon Shooting Brake. The ID.7 Tourer measures 195.3 inches in length, 73.3 inches in width, and 60.4 inches in height, with a wheelbase of 117 inches.
With the rear seats in place, the electric wagon can accommodate 21.3 cubic feet of cargo space, which is 2.5 cubic feet more than the sedan variant, which technically is a hatchback/liftback, as it also features a rear door with electric drive. Folding
Down the rear seats increases the cargo space to 60.5 cubic feet. If you need even more space, an additional roof rack adds another 16.2 cubic feet. The ID.7 Tourer is powered by the same rear electric motor as the liftback, delivering
282 horsepower and 545 Newton-meters of torque. According to VW estimates, with a larger battery, the wagon can travel 426 miles on the WLTP cycle before needing a recharge. Opting for a smaller battery limits the maximum charging power to 175 kW, while a larger battery can
Handle 200 kW. The ID.7 Tourer’s battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in under 30 minutes. The range will depend on the wheel size, which ranges from 19 to 21 inches. Production will take place in Emden, Germany.
