Beside marijuana and Red Light districts, People all around the world consider that Amsterdam to be one of the most famous and important cities of bicycle culture. Although, Amsterdam doesn’t top the list of “Fietsstad” comparing to other cycling dutch cities such as Den Haag, Almere and Eindhoven; you can hardly imagine passing through center of the city without having to deal with the swarm of cyclists. In this video, I’m probing through the inner ring of Amsterdam on my rusty bike.

    1. It’s been my dream to move to the Netherlands. As an American, I do not feel like my brain was hardwired for this life and cars and everything I feel trapped. I want to experience life with people actually walking around. I am not very good with learning new languages though, and I’ve tried, so I don’t think it will ever be possible… it looks very beautiful there 🙂 I hope maybe to visit one day… 💗

    2. Firstly what a clean city, would be a bit intimidating at first to cycle there as some people indicate ,others just sail by and people seem to walk across in front of you .suppose you get used to it .I like to use my static bike and cycle along watching this , so thank you for posting .

    3. This is so fantastic, I want it so badly. I live in Fort Worth, Texas and the public transportation system here consists of a few bus route for a little over 900k people. There are approximately 0 miles/km of protected bike lanes in the City of Fort Worth, and only a handful of parks with shared-use paved trails where you can bike. I really wish we had something even remote this comprehensive for biking and public transportation infrastructure.

    4. Frankly, I am disappointed. The system seems random, disorganized, unplanned. It looks like the path is put where there is room between garbage and a narrow pedestrian path. I doubt if it can live up to any norms for bicycle lanes. Not what I had expected.

    5. as a canadian i am extremely jealous. i love the idea of using bikes as transport. amsterdam feels like the birthplace lottery. lmao

    6. I've lived in Amsterdam all my life and I've cycled on every single street shown in this video.
You cycled past my house, the house I was born in, a couple of friends houses, a girlfriends house, a couple of stores I worked at, close to a couple of schools and a college I went to.
The first 5 minutes of the video are part of my daily commute to work now. Get out of my head! =D

    7. Clearly it can be planned out. Why can't this be done in the UK? All this "net zero" crap but they won't invest in a safer workable system? 7.5 million a day to house unwanted immigrants though?
The mindset of the UK motorist I fear is insurmountable unfortunately. Aggressive, entitled and hateful.

    8. So I'm an American who lives in New York City. We have lots of walkable places and bike lanes of our own, but I would love to visit Amsterdam just to ride my bike around town.

    9. Wonderful! It's nice to see so many riders keeping an unhurried, comfortable pace and not riding like they're on a training run.

    10. Cyclist from Wales here, the difference is absolutely mind blowing. I hope to visit before my body packs up. Great video, although there's one part when it feels like we're stalking a lady.
