A short video that explains our attraction to Dutch bicycles and what makes their approach to bicycles so unique.

Hello this is Andrew from your Kai and today we’re going to tell you a little bit about how we fell in love with the Dutch bikes so if you’ve ever been to Amsterdam what’s so beautiful about Amsterdam is you’re going to see everybody on their bicycles you’re going

To see the women in their regular clothes looking beautiful and fully elegant sitting fully upright on their bicycles the men in their suits the mom’s pot with kids piled on the front and the back people balancing god-knows-what on the back of their rear carriers they just do everything by bike

And it’s so inspiring and what we really fell in love with in Amsterdam is when you see these old bikes that are 50 years old they’ve been used every day stored outdoors and it’s like they’re it’s the person’s trusted companion that they’re just using every day and that’s

Where we fell in love with that quality because you do not find that quality anymore where you can perceive that a bike could actually last 50 years it’s absolutely incredible and that’s why we started on this journey because we actually found bikes that are that durable and so there’s a real revival in

The search for people looking for that quality again that we haven’t seen in such a long time and there’s a reason why a Dutch style bike is not a Dutch bike a Dutch bike is actually made in Holland because of the engineering that goes behind it and they think about

Everything about how the bike rides and there’s a reason why these bikes are built the way they are so that you can arrive to work clean and not full of grease and grit it’s the design behind the bike that makes them so good and you need to come and visit and see and

Experience the feel and the ride of these real Dutch bikes they’ll absolutely amaze you and inspire you to ride your real Dutch bike every day

    1. Those bikes look very sturdy and high quality! I like the sub frame for added sturdyness. The Ursus jumbo double stand (holds up to 80 kilo's) costs 40,- bucks retail alone. The big tyres are an added bonus, although I'd go for black ones, which tend to live longer (less sensitive to UV). Are those brakes Shimano rollerbrakes? And what's the brand name of those bikes?

    2. Listen.
You have Azor and the rest of Dutch bikes.
Azor is handmaded and they don t use stuff from China.
You can t compare them, Azor is really good, the rest is medium (gazelle , batavus, sparta ect,)

    3. Nice vid! Dutch guy here, my Gazelle bike is build in 1948, use it dayly. I am allways amazed that the frame doesnt rust, eventough the paint is pretty much gone. A friend told me once that the steal quality was better in those days. Good luck!

    4. I bought a popal Dutch bike with 3 speed nexus hub gears about 18 months ago, compared to my hybrid Saxon bicycle the popal rides as smooth as a Rolls Royce. I find that even though it has only 3 gears compared to the other bikes 21 speeds it rides easy enough even on hills carrying a week's groceries so all in all a great bike for daily use

    5. Please adjust sadle hight in such a way that one can just touch the ground (on one side off the bike only at any given moment) while you are not moving, that way the cycling itself becomes way easier and it is costing much less effort to peddle.

    6. Maybe in Holland the streets are as smooth as basketball courts, but not in US! These bikes are pricey enough to include a good front suspension and a seat suspended by springs as well.
