Very occasionally, we might even be lucky enough to find an NIFC (“Not Intended For Circulation”).

    Definitives
    ———————————-
We’re interested in definitive designs which are either of low mintage or shouldn’t be in our change. Britannia was the definitive design from 1997-2008 and Shield is the definitive design from 2008 onwards.

For Britannia, 2008 is a lower minted year which some people keep. Any year after 2008 would be an NIFC.

For Shield, 2009-11, 2016, 2018, and 2021 are NIFC years, while 2017 is a lower minted year. There’s also a 2022 shield (tooth-fairy) which has a privy mark on the reverse.

In 2023, the Atlantic Salmon became the definitive design and an unknown number have been circulated. The NIFC version has a privy mark on the obverse.

Hello welcome back to the channel for another coin Hunter today we have £250 of 50 piece to have a hunt through local coins today sealed on the 20th of December 2023 let’s open up and see what we can find and while that bag’s been opened up

Let’s have a quick look at the book to see which designs were still after on page one Q Gardens the rarest 50p in circulation page two is complete on page three we’ve got a couple more Olympics we have shooting and Taekwondo and then after that we have everything up to an

Including the king’s coronation we in the third bag and that’s our first find of the hunt and it’s an absolute cracker that’s the Taylor of gler from the 2018 Beatrix Potter set that is definitely a keeper very nice our second find is another cracker it’s an Olympic that’s Olympic

Cycling it’s not one for the book we’re only after um Olympic Shooting in Taekwondo nevertheless that’s an excellent find very promising start here and here we have a Benjamin bunny that’s the most common commemorative 50p just going to turn it around like this the queen is pointing to 3:00 so that is

As it should be there can be rotation errors on this one where when you turn it around the queen is a bit nose up like this uh so keep an eye out for that as it is that one will get signed and sent out for someone to find

There’s another 2017 Potter that’s Tong kitten again a very common one the dictionary another common One here we have Victoria Cross heroic axe this one should be from 2004 sorry 2006 which it is uh that was restruck in 2019 for 50 years at the 50p uh and that version wasn’t circulated so keep an eye out for that one Christopher R inside 7 million of those were

Circulated oh I’ve got some 20ps in this one 20 40 60 80 that’s a pound so I’m expecting 1850 PS one two 16 17 did I miscount or am I one short I’ll find out in the editing 2022 50 Sur Pride Ah there we have Battle of Britain and worth checking the obverse on this one 2015 is correct and jod Clark portrait is correct if you see something different then that’s a non-circulating version It’s a low tier keeper there’s another Pride and Sherlock Holmes don’t see many of him it’s not a keeper Though there’s another dictionary and we’re going to finish that bag off with another Pride there’s another pride and another Christopher on inside there’s a platinum Jubilee circulating Version and this is the last bag of the hunt there’s a Scouts from 2007 that’s another one of these ones that was restruck into 2019 so keep an eye out for that okay I’m going to double check all the coins now and make sure I didn’t miss anything the first time round for

Shields I’m looking for years 2009 10 11 16 17 18 and anything from 2020 OMS I post back in a few seconds with what I find okay I finished checking all the coins I did find one shield from 2017 that’s a lower minted year on the shields only 1.8 million of them were

Circulated so that’s definitely a keeper and then looking back at the main hunt itself I think the best finds on the bottom row here along with that Shield we have the Battle of Britain low tier keeper Taylor of Gloucester and I think my favorite would have to be this one

Here the Olympic cycling thank you very much as always for watching if you enjoyed the hunt please do hit the Thumbs Up And subscribe and I’ll see you next time for another coin Hunt
