Hey there everybody how’s it going welcome back to another awesome episode of on the throttle with Jackie vanham my buddy Josh TR out here bringing you all of the breaking news going on out here in motorcycles and power sports Josh I am back from an exciting handful of days

Out in Las Vegas no no no not for the Super Bowl but for aim Expo and it was a blast it was such a good time so many awesome new products and new bikes and we’re actually be talking about a handful of those bikes and what they’ve

Been getting up to this past week or so my stories are going to be talking about that Triumph dirt bike that’s right the tf250 I’m going to be talking about that and what it’s been up to out there in the wild and mo the folks over at BMW

Motorad are bringing the party Josh what you got going on your neck of the whs today you know I’ve got to do something weird about this so some days you feel like a large adventure and that’s what we’re going to talk about for my second story my first story though is sometimes

You feel like a an adventure that’s just onethird the size so that’ll be my first story sometimes you feel like a nut sometimes you don’t great with all that we’re going to be right back after this word from our Sponsor welcome back everybody now as I mentioned at the top of the program speaking of absolutely nuts the folks at Triumph motorcycle had a real barn burner for their very first race debut here in the United States that was at Supercross East was in Detroit just

Within the last couple of days and the folks at Triumph that was their very first race outing if you’re regular follower of the show you know Josh and I have been watching and anticipating this Triumph dirt bik for 500 years now so let’s go ahead and jump on into the

Details and race report from Supercross from the 250 round where Triumph indeed went racing the slide under your screen right now is that awesome Triumph machine this is the Triumph TF 250X it was an all action Affair for Jay swo and Evan ferry in the fordfield stadium in Detroit Michigan for round

One of the 250 Supercross East series on February 3rd swo finished in a superb Josh superb sixth place while teammate fery was unfortunate and had to be take and was taken out during the main event first turn it was a historic day for triumph which marks marked the British

Brand’s inaugural entry into Super cross competition it was certainly full of excitement Triumph rolled into the stadium for the very first time with the primary goal of having both of its Riders qualified for the main event aboard their brand new TF 250X machines both Riders were plac in qualifying heat

To and swo made a great launch from the gate into fourth place the 22-year-old was holding position strong in the opening laps until he was torpedoed Off Track by another Rider causing him to dramatically crash uninjured though and with the Triumph TF 250X without major damage jayx staged an amazing back to

Ninth which put him right through to the final transfer spot to go straight through to the main event in the same heat it was a similar story for Ferry on his Super Cross debut fast out of the gate and fighting for the final position to go into the main Evan was hit by

Another Rider which caused damage to the rear break of his 250 250cc Triumph Motocross machine despite the setback the 19-year-old rookie from Florida would go on to dominate in the last chance qualifier that’s right in the lcq he dominated from gate to flag to secure his place in the

Main um every Triumph member watching in Detroit and the factory in hinley UK held the breath for the next 15 minutes in the main plus one lap as jayc chased down the field lapping consistently and fast on a track that became rough and Ruddy the number 33 recovered to reach

An amazing sixth position at the checkered flag for the British manufacturer Evan farry however ended up having an accident he was assessed by Medics did not require further further medical attention but he was dnf so we are going to be looking forward to the rest of the Race season

Because they are already absolutely off with this barn burner a quote from Bobby huitt who’s the Triumph racing tream team principal in the US what a drama-filled event quote but the main thing being that Evan is okay all in all I’m really happy and very proud of both

Writers for Jay climbing all that way up from the last turn crash to place sixth was incredible he’s shown how relaxed and comfortable he is on the bike Evan was unlucky in the main but just before that he showed that if you’re going with

Into a lcq the style he did it is the way pull the whole shot from the outside and lead the whole thing so that is what’s going on for the folks over at Triumph This 250 team really exciting news Josh what do you think about the

Folks over at Triumph racing in this 250 East Supercross Edition I’m super glad that they got a good result first time out um that to me is is it’s it’s that initial result that says okay yes this can do something um now them putting that together consistently is going to

Be a much bigger Telltale on things um it could be the bike’s just suited for that track it could be just a number of other things with that but it’s showing a lot of promise and to me that’s going to make some other people wake up and

Once again when we get more competition like that it makes the whole Market better so so I am glad to see this it’s like I mean it’s like you said it’s going to be something we’re going to want to watch yeah I’m definitely keeping an eye

On this cuz this was a real Barn bur this was really really exciting racing going on over there so I will definitely be tuning in Josh what you got going on for your first story today so we’re going to start with the small Adventure first because you know that’s just start

Small and build your way up right so last week thank you for texting me the photos of the CF Moto IEX 450 when that thing finally got unveiled here yes it is coming to the US I am pretty pumped about this one um this bike will feature a 449cc parallel twin

43.6 horsepower 32t pounds of torque six-speed transmission it is a 270° crankshaft um I don’t know if you have heard the motor in the CF 450 sport bike that they have it sounds amazing amazing Go I mean look up a YouTube clip of that engine it sounds amazing and it

You would never think that this thing is a 450 twin um this is running a crali sealed tube frame KYB fork and uh uh shock in the rear 8 in standard of travel at both ends which is great for a bike in this range um cross spoke tubless wheels that’s something huge in

This category it’s tubless and it’s spoked this is not something that’s typically in this range of bike on top of this 385 lb dry which is the lightweight number that everyone is looking for when they want a smaller adventure bike um in this this has an adjustable seat height of 312 or 32.3

Depending on what you’re comfortable with uh 8.7 in of ground clearance it has a 4.6 Gall fuel tank which when you realize this is under half a liter of displacement that should last you quite some time I think we’re going to get good fuel mileage out of this guy um

Single 320 front disc uh four piston caliper a 240 rear with a single piston it’s the jjan brakes um there is a 5-in curved TFT display um with over theair support So this thing will get over theair Wireless updates you hook it up to your Wi-Fi at home it will get

Updated so and I mean that to me is something that we’re just not seeing in this category and we’re going to talk about a little bit more about why in a second here um it runs a 59.3 in wheelbase um standard features are adjustable windscreen handguard skid plate mirrors USBC Charger LED lights

And a slipper clutch it has Bosch traction control on board which is switchable it also has the rear switchable ABS the front is not switchable some people will like or and or dislike that um Zephyr blue which is what we see here Tundra gray is the other color option this is the thing

That I really wanted to get into the MSRP on this thing is $64.99 so under $6,500 you’re getting a proper adventure bike with all the thing that checks all the boxes for people that want to do adventuring stuff this to me and the fact that it’s got the electronics

Packages on it it’s got the adjustable wind screen it’s got all these items that you don’t normally see until 12 $14,000 on bikes it’s got all of those options to me CFMOTO is coming out charging hard and wants a number of other people’s lunch money and I think

They’re going to get it with this bike um the only bad thing that I see so far is that it this will be arriving in the dealerships in the fall as a 2025 so you have to ride whatever you’re on for this season but get ready I mean

On the on the bright side of this Jackie you can go ahead and save the money um the couch you’re sitting on there go ahead and dig through the cushions um see see what kind of changes in there I don’t you don’t need to do that many

Times in order to pay for this bike and I mean that’s a huge thing to me I mean what I the what are your thoughts on that I’m just blow I’m I’m dumbfounded I know I I love the very few occasions that you’re speechless um I do appreciate them and

Look forward to them honestly no all jokes aside I love this bike this was such a showstopper at a Expo first of all the CF Moto folks are just coming on strong their display was fantastic it was packed all three days you could barely get on the carpet it was swarming

With people and staff and everybody coming to look at the bikes uh they also had some of their four-wheel vehicles on display they had their little uh poio the little mini bike that they do that I love so much they had all their cool stuff on display but this was this was

The bell of the ball I’m not going to lie everybody came over and was taking pictures of standing around this bike uh they had particularly this version on display in the Aqua white with the hot pink accents which was yes yes Moto yes oh yeah I am so

Here for it I love this I even talked to some of the staff about this um the thing that really I feel like sets CF Moto apart is the fact that they have just upped the ante on their quality for many years they were kind of in in the

Shadows you know that they made bikes they had kind of a small dealership Network they didn’t have a lot of support it felt like there wasn’t a ton of love going on they’ve just been kind of like simmering on the outskirts and now especially with the fact that

They’ve partnered with so many European Boutique Brands I feel like it’s really elevated their presence a lot it’s given them a lot more eyeballs but the one thing that I feel like really stands out about Chinese a lot of the Chinese Brands particular Asia Brands is the

Fact that they make a good product but a lot of times The Styling feels off to me right to me CF Moto The Styling is dead on I love this bike I love the way it looks I think it’s anyway enough about that but yeah so the bike is totally

Stun it’s made of beautiful elevated parts and it’s 60 it’s just shy of 65 $100 this is to me such a cool slam dunk bike I put this right neck and neck with another adventure bike that I that I Moon about all the time here on the show

Which is the Moto Marini 650 Escape I love that bike to me they are very very neck and neck except 200 more CC’s over at the motor Marini side but again Great Value awesome components and beautiful beautiful design uh by both by both companies for sure what what’s kind of interesting

About that too is some people talk about the Chinese quality and stuff like that when you see quality like this and when you see that they have turned that corner and they’re making stuff differently now um there was an Asian country that most people have motorcycles from that years ago people

Said the same thing about um I believe there was some small companies like uh Honda Suzuki Kawasaki and Yamaha that may have been based out of an Asian country that people didn’t yeah we we can we can think about that another time yeah yeah you’re not you’re not wrong

It’s a totally new day I love I love showing people these bikes because I think they deserve your first not only your second third and fourth look they deserve your first look now these are really sure really fantastic fantastic machines and fantastic companies and again it has everything to do with the

Quality control and the design team who is actually putting these bikes together so anyway I I agree with you and the second that they revealed this literally for those of you who watch the show I ran over to the launch snapped the photo snapped the screen of what was going on

Threw it in threw it in the post of last week’s show and sent it to Josh in the group chat so that’s how excited I was about this anyway so for my second story talking about things that I am really excited about and you’re I just

Had to talk about this today because I was so pleased as punch about this my second story today is BMW is bringing the party back and that’s right they’re headed back we headed back to garish Parton Kiran for those of you who are BMW nerds out there like I am the last

Couple of years BMW motored days which is their huge international party has been in Berlin now Berlin is a beautiful lovely historic Progressive modern city with traffic and not a lot of great riding around it and for almost 20 years before that they hosted their international party in a city called garish Parton

Kirston which is in the southern Germany Alps region so obviously it is absolutely gorgeous and fantastic riding and a hoot and very traditional and I have had the Good Fortune of attending a handful of those parties the pictures on your screen right now are from garish

Parton Kiran so you can see they do like the motor drum Wall of Death they have display likes you can see the bottom left you can see that’s the Alps in the background they have a huge like beard and there’s vendors it has just been a spectacular party but for the past two

Years the C CEO or director of BMW motorad in Germany really really wanted to encourage celebrating in Berlin because that is where the bikes are currently made and have been made since 1970 so he wanted to pay homage and give some respect to the Berlin plant I get

It but the BMW family was not happy about it and there was a lot of push back about the price of hotels as well as sitting stuck in traffic and not great riding so BMW listened and they moved it back to garbish Parton Kon so that’s right for this summer for 2024

Going forward it is going to be back at garish Parton ciran for the unforeseen future so let’s go ahead and chat about it after spending two years based in the German capital in Berlin BMW mot days Returns the stunning Alpine setting a garish part ention for 2024 the theme

For this year’s event is year of the GS and the F festivities are taking place from the 5th through the 7th of July garish Parton cusan has for 18 previous years been the home of BMW’s Annual Festival of all things motorad although like I I’ve already mentioned multiple times it was moved to

Berlin so this is going to be you can expect three days of unadulterated motorbike culture party atmosphere and unique riding experiences they’ll have more information posted as they get going the return to garish part ction fulfills a heart’s desire for many BMW motoride fans the area is simply perfect

For Unique motorbike rides has been home to BMW motoride days like I mentioned for 18 years the foot of the local mountain want to inspire you again this year with new products International exhibitors test rides and last but not least with the traditional Bavarian way of life and legendary party making

Atmosphere so that is what’s going on for the folks over at BMW motorad i for one will have this on my calendar fingers crossed I would love to go and that is a photo of my actual motorcycle that I shipped over there my 1972 B r755 toaster tank uh in the Swiss Alps

Going for a ride during the week of BMW motored days in garish paron Kiren Josh what do you got to say about this traditional party making going on for the folks over at BMW I mean you know I’m not a group ride fan but you really know I’m not a fan of

Riding in this city um so I I why they did that I mean I understand like you said the let’s pay homage to the factory and stuff like that but by golly these are motorcycle people we do not want to sit in traffic on a I mean on an air

Cooled engine between our legs no thank you we want to get out and ride um so yeah I am really glad that they are putting that back in its proper place to where people can still party and they can hang out with their friends what

They want to but if they would like to go disappear in those Hills that are on the screen they can do that too you know where I would be yep yeah this is such a good time like I said I I had to talk about it because to

Me this is terrifically exciting news and this is for any of the BMW folks watching this is such an incredible turnout this is a bucket list event um if you even kind of sort of thinking about going ship a bike rent a bike get yourself there this is a heck of a good

Time and it’s spectacular weather and spectacular SC spectacular weather and spectacular scenery is guaranteed Josh what you got going on for your second story today so uh you mentioned one of your other favorite Brands here Modo Marini so I am going to talk about an adventure but

It’s three4 or it’s three times the engine size I don’t know if it’s three times the fun so that’s we’ll we’ll have to cover that um so yes we’re going to talk about the 2025 motor Marini Escape 1200 um this is a 1200 cc v twin

Actually it is an 1187 CC but I mean what’s 13 CC’s between friends when it’s when it’s a b this big so right they’re going to go ahead and just round up to that um this was unveiled here last week at aim um it is coming to the US and

Canada now it’s been unveiled previously in Europe but now they’re saying yes this is coming here um great thing to do that with I mean the big adventure bike section is still very very hot and especially bikes like this because look this is not as much so someone looking

To go out on dirt this is someone that is looking to go out and kind of Take On Any Road they want to so you want to ride across the country great you can do that you can take freeways with it you get in some gravel great you’re not

Going to be in too much trouble if you get on dumb Trails like I do well then you’re going to be in trouble but anything up until that you’re going to be pretty good with this bike that being said it is an 87 degree twin um something that I found interesting with

This for it being 1200 CC’s it is 122 horsep power I’m thinking that sounds a little low for what something like this could be or should be it will be interesting to see where it fits in price-wise when that comes out um this does have four different riding modes it

Has cruise control quick shifter traction control and blind spot radar which I found also very interesting uh Brembo brakes with cornering ABS that is switchable because yes this can go off-road um fully adjustable suspension 6 . 7 in the front 6.3 in the rear the front end of this thing looks like

Something out of predator and like it’s going to eat me um that mouth there at the front when you look at this photo very closely um this very much has a look like there could be radar on the front of this also I don’t sound it doesn’t sound like there’s something

Like that coming yet but I definitely think that this could be something in the future um that being said it is a tubular trellis frame it is 33.8 in seat height so Jackie get your ladder it is LED lighting 7in uh TFT display with navigation there’s an aluminum luggage

Rack luggage lug lug wow luggage accessories are available um MSRP has not been announced it is arriving late 2024 as a 2025 model um this is like so many of the other motor Marini things this is Italian design with International components is what they’re calling it um I think this is a great

Way to do it as long as you get that quality control in um this aims for balance of performance agility comfort and style there’s a few people out there that have already pointed out and I’ve seen this in a lot of the forums and a lot of the groups people are kind of

Like it’s a little plasticky my first impression of this was if a super bike and an adventure bike were alone together at night um this is what their child would look like when it like in its low 20s if it worked out a lot um it’s it’s a muscular looking bike but

All the bodyw work very much looks super bik is and kind of stretched to me so I am interested to see what this turns out with um pricing on on this bike to me is going to be the key I mean you are up in a Range that is you’re trying to compete

With the GS you’re trying to compete with like the 1290r uh or the just the 1290 Adventure not the r with that um so you’re you’re up in this big bik territory and you’re you’ve got some features that are missing you’ve got some other items there um it’s down on

Power so they’re going to have to balance that with price I think they’re going to be in a position to do that it is going to be interesting to see what they do what are your thoughts Jackie is this a super bike that somehow like got longer legs on

It well I am a huge fan of that 650 Escape as I already mentioned um just as a side note I had a really really great uh conversation with actually several of the motor Marini family that were there um some of the staff that were really

Really helpful we did do a walk around video of this particular bike and we got some more details about it but y’all are going to have to stay tuned hit that notifications on and hit that subscribe button because we’ll be releasing that video here as a little segment within

This program or possibly as a standalone little video to talk to you about this uh new 1200 but I can tell you that the 650 Escape in particular it does come with a opportunity for a low version and a low seat if I remember that correctly

So I can actually fit on that bike which I am super pumped about but this guy was really great looking in person in photos I hear what you’re saying because it does have these like in this particular color way the pieces look very very long

Which has a tendency to kind of read as plasticky in photos so I get what you’re saying about it if I saw this version though more like murdered out I think this would be really really slick this would be a great looking I already think

It is I do like the front end of this machine and this does come stacked with a ton of bells and whistles and it’s all Italian design so it is really beautiful in person but has enough oomph to back it up it’s got this huge Dash it’s got

You know all the components that you’ve already mentioned this is just to me another really really great example of companies that are building bikes in Asia using a you know using a little bit of savings but having awesome design and awesome quality control I think this is going to be really value deren

Proposition I don’t remember getting an exact number because you know I’m going to ask I don’t remember getting an exact number out of these folks at the aim show but I was told that if when they’re willing to talk money that this would be very very aggressively priced for bikes

That are in that category so I’m really curious to see how this all shakes loose I think that the price tag will tell a lot of the story as far as how competitive it is going to be in a very very quick crowded space so that’s what

I got to say about this 1200 Escape I think it still is incredibly beautiful I got my heart set on that 650 though I’m not going to lie that’s that’s my jam right there I love that guy uh but that’s going to be it for today’s

Program so thanks for tuning in as I mentioned just a hot second ago we did get the chance to walk and talk and chat with some of the folks there and we’ll be releasing some of these little Standalone videos and little behind the scenes type type things coming in the in

The near future so make sure you stay tuned you’re not going want to miss it thanks again for tuning in every single week clicking that like button sharing these videos doing all things and the stuff and we will see you next week
