The Frankfurter Allee is one of the oldest roads of Berlin, the capital city of Germany. It extends the Karl-Marx-Allee from Frankfurter Tor in the direction of the city of Frankfurt. It is part of Bundesstraße 1 and has a length of 3.6 kilometres.
Dotted with children’s shops, playgrounds and kid-friendly cafes, Prenzlauer Berg is home to young professionals and well-to-do families. Restored pre-war buildings near Kollwitzplatz and Helmholtzplatz house casual restaurants and indie boutiques. A popular Sunday flea market in Mauerpark draws browsers and buskers. The KulturBrauerei, a huge former brewery complex, is now home to shops and music clubs.
