We’ve been cycling our way round the estuary on various days out. This was part of the Saxon Way – Gravesend to St Mary’s Bay on the Hoo Peninsula. Originally we were only going as far as Egypt Bay but I guess our map reading skills are not quite what they should be!

And today’s adventure begins we’re in Graves end across the water there Tilbury and we’re heading out to Egypt Bay Setting off from graves end the estery uh unfortunately it’s not in smell Vision if it was in smell Vision it would be quite different experience but it’s very pretty and so here we’ve got Cliff Fort artillery Fort anyway built to keep out those pesky French back in the 1560s
And then over here where can you see it no it’s over there oh the lighthouse behind me there lighthouse built uh named after John sha who supposedly could cure malaria and also once imprisoned The Devil in a boot what a c man come down here it’s a man in a very big
