  1. Rooney is an all-time great!

Check this out, Bernardo Silva is praised for not having a fixed position. He is considered one of the most versatile footballers of his generation. His ability to slot into any position and do well is rightly lauded.

By the same token, Rooney was that and much more for his generation and his generation had greater players (Messi and CR7 anyone?).

Rooney doesn't get the credit for making sacrifices. He played wherever he was asked to and excelled for many years. On the left, on the right, second striker, striker, number 10, Centre mid, etc. He gave a 100% wherever he was deployed.

One of my all-time favourite players. Unplayable on his day.

  2. I'm 37, so not far off the same age… As a united fan since I cna remember – watching him debut and how he had that fire in his belly… I'll never forget
    My all time favourite player

  3. Absolute legend no question ask! My favourite United player of all time. Had the energy of the world works socks off every game! Passion, anger, desire and determination Rooney talent unmatched even now you won’t get that from young players! Greatest English player ever in my eyes!

  4. Greatest England player ever, no doubt. He can play in any positions perfectly. Sir Alex has played him as number 10, number 9, number 8, number 7, even number 5/6. He played amazing in each of those positions. Rooney's "flaw" is that he doesn't have a superstar persona. It's a bit like Messi, but Rooney is the badass and ruthless version. For me, Rooney is the perfect embodiment of Sir Alex's vision. Hard working, never giving up, and willing to sacrifice for the team.

Btw, in terms of physicality, he should have got a minimum score of 95. Dude is an animal, ffs!
