I’ve been going to Amsterdam as a crew member for over 20 years. I’ve seen this neighborhood north of Central Station grow so much over the years.
The Dutch value pedestrians and bicyclists as you can see in this video. For the past 50 years they have concentrated on making walking and biking the first option, next to their great transit system.
Each street they have to dig up to re-do when the surface needs repaving they completely re-design each street to give more space to peds and bikes and less to the single occupancy vehicle, which makes the Netherlands an amazing place to experience on food or bike.

There’s a bikes sign here they’re very bicycle Centric here very pedestrian friendly I mean look at this it’s basically like a roadway in the middle of there are no cars there a basically a bike lane here Here Comes somebody and it intersects here goes over there and
Um you just got to be very careful when you cross the street here in Amsterdam cuz the the car stop the bike’s don’t so there you go
