My first ride on the Stark Varg. Claimed to be the most powerful electric dirt bike on the market! We took the Stark to one best enduro venues in the country ( The Mick Extance Experience) to test it out off-road and see how it copes. We’re running a motocross setup with 19 inch rear wheel and tubes but we need to test it again with full enduro setup. let’s see how it rides in the hard stuff.

A huge thank you to @Moto101uk @renegade.sm @ignitemoto_ for letting me ride their bikes and give my honest review. It was a pleasure.

Right we are here another day at the MC Aon experience So Adam invited me here today because Moto 101 are bringing five Stark vogs to go and test them out at Enduro which is quite phenomenal really cuz they don’t have a clutch so I don’t know how they’re going to do but anyway

He invited me up and he said hey do you want to come test some Electric Dirt Bikes I was like yeah why not I’ll bring my own just in case um cuz I’ve never ridden one and I don’t know how they’re going to go but I’m quite excited and if

You’re going to test any bike anywhere here to see if they’re any good this is the place so I bought the 300 it’s still quite tall I have bought a lowered seat and I bought a factory seat cover which I haven’t fitted yet so I think I’m just going to try the

Lowered seat today whack that on now the boys are turning up soon and we’ll have a look at these Stark vs and see how good they are cuz I’ve seen them doing the arena cross they’re they’re pretty good pretty good right fited the seat I’m not sure if it looks okay in

Black black or whether it needs to be orange I don’t know you know I quite like it I do quite like it what do you think leave in the comments while that’s all done still think it looks all right you know anyway let’s go zing zing in the woods you do

That quick Loop obviously just be aware of the battery we don’t know what it’s going to do at the minute do a quick Loop come back to us I got number one and then okay we’re off you look fast I look fast right oh this is weird no clutch I like it

Already it’s so slim line isn’t it yeah it’s really nice right to hold this down neutral okay I got it it’s one of those days you could really anything Hy yeah it’s quite annoying wow this amazing cuz we can actually talk to each other without engine noise

I don’t want to like electric but I have a feeling I might actually like electric by the end I think we’re just going to do I keep going for the clutch what am I doing I think we’re going to do some Trails nothing too hard straight away

It’s got some good engine breaking come on oh go on oh there supension this so nice Okay he keeps roosting me that’s impressive wow this thing’s got some torque oh also roosts it roosts a lot wow oh no I dropped it I I do it every time on this corner I

Well check out the weight of this thing should we cuz it was hard to get on the stand okay not too bad can’t believe I crashed oh know I can’t actually what am I talking about of course I can right we’re going to give it another

Bash we’re going to try this again and carry some speed and hopefully make it here we go why we going this way what am I doing no I keep going for the clutch it’s so weird to get used to oh that’s deep it’s so weird these stock marks though the so

We’re riding the motorcross Edition which is a 19-in rear wheel we’re in a nice tame mode at the moment but when you order them you can get an 18in rear wheel and uh a kickstand I think wow wow okay they got some power we’re in the slow mode as well

Apparently the fast mode you can’t really use cuz it’s too fast here we go oh I’m getting roosted full on Roost oh that’s in the mouth that was some Roost I was eating rocks there for a few minutes I was too close to then I I kept filled in impressed so

Far I don’t want to crash it really don’t want to crash it cuz it’s not my bike and I’m really good at crashing so yeah what’s it like for you watching it with no engine noise cuz I find it really strange cuz my voice is annoying at most times

But it’s going to be really annoying now you can hear me way more clear w I need to stay back a little bit roosted me again so if you give it a bit much God the tire just spins it just wants to go so if you had a soft mousse

And a good soft tire on this might be quite dangerously good let me know in the comments if anyone else has a stark vag or ridden one or what’s your thoughts on them cuz so far I’m impressed and it gets annoying when I get impressed because my bank balance

Gets a lot lower you saw last time I rode a 300 and a 150 I came home and I bought them both and now I’m riding a stark bar and it’s quite annoying that I like it but we’ll see how the battery holds up so far insanely impressed I’m so glad

These boys let me uh have a go on one cuz I’ve been wanting to have a going one for a while so the audio must be way more clear now with no engine noise I’m going to annoy you for the rest of the day I looking Wheeling everywhere wish I was that

Good this is what they’re going to be good for trail riding I think if they can increase the battery cuz I think so far it’s only 2 hours but I’m not quite sure it speak to the boys about it but I think it is 2 hours depending how you ride them

Wow it’s got so much poke in it the suspension turning I can’t tell you this turns way better than my 300 you just point the nose in and it goes have no clue why that is maybe it’s the suspension maybe it’s the weight I don’t know it’s 10 kg more than a 450

Apparently Adam’s riding that thing like it’s just rubber he loves them he’s he’s been riding these at the motocross track and says they’re incredible and now I’m riding one and I think it’s incredible I never thought an electric bike would make me think they’re incredible cuz all

The things you hear about you know the sirons and stuff which I had one it wasn’t very good but to have a full size electric bike that feels exactly like a proper motor bike bike is awesome absolutely awesome this feels like when I first bought my

150 how playful you feel on it this feels like that I think it’s cuz it’s new that 150 was new to me a small engine just ripping it around everywhere this is the same it’s just new so just a feeling you haven’t had before on a bike like a fulls siiz bike

With electric it it’s a bit mad but this is the future I suppose maybe this could be a second bike I think it could be oh why do I follow you Adam really want to put the Starks through the pace so I decided yeah I’ll do that why not and now I’m

Here where I go want a new bike I’m not used to actually it doesn’t even matter if I’m used to it I’m still going to suck whoa that’s soft I really really really really really want to try one of these with a proper endur Tire on it they going be Mega

Okay she’s doing the old Enduro right into the wet trees and we all know the woods at Mick extance are insanely slippery so far so good I’m just talking because I’m a little bit nervous how slippery it is whoa okay I’ve done really steep stuff in my 300 and this is insanely steep

We’re doing on electric bike oh my God woo wow big drop offs w w please don’t break someone else’s bike please don’t break someone else’s bike that’s kind of steep huh it’s too tall for me to do that you don’t but you don’t need that clutch to pop it’s it’s got enough

Traction isn’t it enough talk all you got to do is just pull back tiny bit of throttle that’s insane yes readyy so impressed do you know what though for the the weight they are quite heavy you don’t feel it when you’re riding at all like literally not even 1% It Feels

Light wow I mean what can I say just wow there’s nothing else to say wow what a machine that’s all I can say is what a machine this St bike is incredible where I would have probably slated it in the past after riding one wow I’ve actually blown away about

It to be honest let me know in the comments what you think about it um obviously some people hate them some people love them I was a hater now I’m a lover but make sure you follow everyone in the description just for you know bringing the bikes out and they got a

Hire company that they hire them out to if you ever want to try one on a motocross track and hopefully will see them in the wood soon anyway as always thanks for watching right safe I’ll catch you in the next one peace

    1. You tell that girl she roosted you 2x when you pretty much stick your face in her back wheel trying to climb the hills, then she says sorry. Come on guy.

    2. varg is super good, heavy but the handling and power more than make up for it… I've ridden it with gummy knobbys and michelin trials tire, both in hawaii and both have their merits. for the road, the knobs are sketchy with so much power, the trials much better but still floats when you're hammering it. track it's sick, trails it's capable but needs to be way turned down without a clutch and probably knobs over trials since its so easy to spin the tire you might as well be trenching on a knob vs polishing with a trials. if you're super careful, the trials tire can get you over some greasy rocks and roots better in extreme situations but overall i'd say a gummy knob for trails is the way to go… over all 9:10. needs to be lighter, have a clutch and some sort of kill switch. Currently in stock form this fscker is dangerous! I love it, curious about how the primo is going to be with 85hp and 'simulated' clutch. My EM epure comp will chew this thing up in anything even moderately technical and use less energy at the same time but there is nothing like a surf check on the varg just blasting past all the little surron fanboys.

    3. Full torque and power from 0rpm has to be a game changer.
2-strokes are just rubbish in comparison for this.
The sport will be fully electric at the top level, eventually.

    4. A few flaws I see for racing hard enduro…

      1. No clutch. The concept that we can adapt our "wrist" to have the precision of a clutch just isn't going to happen. There is a reason the Electric Motion has a clutch. You have direct control of the drivetrain at your finger, which isn't one of the 4 contact points for controlling the machine with weight & position. Controlling traction is more dynamic than throttle input, no matter how "sensitive" that throttle or subsequent engine can be. Can riders adapt, of course; but that isn't the real question. The real question is, does the Stark perform better in highly technical terrain without a clutch? The answer is no.

      2. No engine braking. There doesn't seem to be any. This binds the rider to using the rear brake via the right foot. Coupled with the lack of a clutch, this could get very sketchy for extreme downhills if a rider is forced to remove their right foot from the peg (right side downhill off camber). A left hand rear brake could overcome this, but I'd rather have the clutch. Realistically, both would be needed if there is no form of engine braking.

      3. Battery life & additional cost. I heard Stark is working on a battery swap system that is faster than the current 5 min timeline for swapping them out. This has proven challenging for Taddy in the Spanish Hard Enduro recently since a 5 min downtime is crippling for a race environment. Nonetheless, I'd venture to say a "spare" battery is going to be a minimum of a couple thousand dollars, which once again drives up the cost for the average privateer racer or amatuer.

I don't hate the Stark. I see them being well suited for an MX scenario or a novel bike for someone who wants to ride a couple hours and really likes new technology. I have no doubt more R&D will push them forward and they will get closer to competing in multiple environments. As for "embracing electric", it gets political and I think that is the source of much discontent in the mainstream. It would be easier to enjoy the thought of new technology and options for our sport if governments around the world weren't putting terminal execution dates for ICU engine vehicles. It feels like mandate, not choice.

    5. The only positive thing I can take from these Electric Crossers are that certain MX Tracks in the UK that are susceptible to Noise Pollution weekday opening restraints could maybe open to these silent missiles ?
Let me know what you think ?
