From Llubljana to Italy via Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj. Then it was along the Russian road and up to the highest pass in Slovenia, Vršič Pass at 1611 meters. 25 hairpin bends up, then 25 down and a chilly but amazing descent.
Got a shower in at Kobarid as a treat, then a short ride to Tolmin for 2 nights wild camping on the river as the forecast was for heavy rain. After the rain it was a short ride to the border.

What an amazing video! It seems to have been an amazing experience. I tried to check out your "routes" section on your website but couldn't find this one. Do you have it by any chance? If yes, would mind sharing the link? Thanks for the video 🙂

I cycled there in June 2019 also. I made a nice tour in Austria, Slovenia and Italy. The Vršič Pass was also on my route. I loved the scenery.

Today's bikes are NOT assembled correctly. If I were buying a bike for loaded touring, I'd have it stripped down to the frame and reassembled properly. Which is what I did with my recently-purchased travel tandem. Plus, any new bike I buy I do this. Nice to have a full shop at home. The bicycle manufacturers SAY they do "pre-assembly," but they've really let their QA/QC drop. Plus, if you pull everything apart, you can apply rust inhibitor (JP Wiegle, Fluid Film, etc.) to the insides of the frame & fork tubes. Nice insurance for inclement weather.
