A motorcyclist avoided ploughing head-on into a car by a matter of inches, shocking new dashcam shows. The scary footage – taken around Camborne in Cornwall – shows the biker pulling out on double solid white lines around a bend to overtake the car which captured the incident.

But by the time the biker starts pulling in again there is already a black BMW bearing down on them. They narrowly avoid a head-on collision before the biker continues on their way.

But that was not the end of the incident as the driver reported it to Devon & Cornwall Police via Operation Snap – an initiative which sees drivers submit their own footage to the police in a bid to stamp out bad driving. The rider was given a driver training course for their bad riding.

    1. So the biker that passes on the corner and almost gets in a head-on just gets a driving course, the car that passes other cars into oncoming traffic where a car has to get out of the way only gets a 100 fine and of course, and the dude that's a douchebag swerving in and out of lanes but gets out of the way of traffic gets 200 and a class? So confused by this. What gives with the discrepancy?

    2. Keep doing this, as it discourages people to drive like that without police around – however, there are huge discrepancies in the punishments. That bmw was definitely speeding and went into lane of incoming traffic which only resulted in driving course. Thats just a slap on the wrist, if there was a car oncoming no way the bmw could have avoided collision since bend in road. Fix discrepancies, but keep it up.

    3. So the police are receuiting public do-gooders to become snitches. Cant stand these holier than thou dobbers trying to get everyone in trouble, wonder what skeletons they have in theie closet. They would be the first to join the next german painters political party, thats for sure.

    4. The situation at 1:23 I've experienced as well as a cyclist, somewhere north of Dundee (Scotland) if I remember well. Since I'm not from the UK, it has had me wondering if the UK actually is tourist friendly. If people there drive as dangerous, not once but actually on many occasions, it becomes more and more uninteresting to spend my well earned money in the UK. The people in the UK should really watch how they treat other people. Before you know there will be hardly any tourist income left at all.
