If you live in a big city or town, chances are some of the food deliveries you have received were brought to you on an e-bike. But the pricey electric bikes have also become a hot target for thieves. To see how bad the problem is, Inside Edition rented a sleek, $2,000 electronic bike from NYC Adventure eBike Tours. We hid two GPS devices in the bike, and Inside Edition Chief Investigative Correspondent Lisa Guerrero locked it to a stop sign post. Just 10 minutes later, a man strolled up, ripped off the cable lock and rode away.

    1. What i would do is buy a tracker and put it on your bike, so if anyone steals it, u can know where it is and maybe a small camera that records all the time and automatically uploads to your phone, so u can go to the police with the proof and location. And of course a bike lock and stuff, the bike lock wont stop ppl who really want the bike but it will stop passerbys from taking it and wont get stolen as often

    2. In all fairness that was a really cheap lock! It would have been a better story with a better locking device! Do better research and reporting!

    3. When your bike is stolen, you just have to accept it or have your own BIG ADVENTURE finding it YOURSELF. No one will help you…not even cops. RIP PW Herman

    4. Moral of the story is don’t live in New York City. I work for Doordash in Gainesville,FL and I leave my car running everywhere I go. That is the difference between living in a safe city & New York City.

    5. I do not understand anymore of crime in Washington State. When someone breaks laws three times, they should be left on an island 1,000 miles away, with one book of Mathes and one knife, they then figure out why they need to stay on the Island. We spend way too much cost for crime folks and why? Just because someone breaks a law multiple times should be left on an Island, that would cost less from TAXES…
