Hello everybody Welcome to the football filling I hope you have had a good weekend today I am joined by the ex Blues baggies and Bolton Bulldog himself it’s Paul Robinson how are you mate I’m all good mate good weekend lovely thank you uh it was a good weekend in the

Premier League and that is because all of the big boys won which means we have got a title race on our hands in fact it is the closest title race in 10 years that is why we love the Premier League oh and there’s no Mark goldbridge here

Today uh because he did a live stream for the NFL last night so he’s called in sick just me and you mate love it come on then football Filling right we got to start with Arsenal Robo uh did you watch this game yesterday by the way I did y um at halim did you feel a little bit a tiny wiy bit sorry for West Ham and in particular David Moyes no not at all cuz it’s

Football and I just at the moment I just love watching Arsenal I just think the way when they when they’re at it like that yesterday they’re just so hard to play against it was relentless Relentless West Ham had no answers no matter what and I think even 15 minutes

At half time for them they were probably just thinking like we thank God for that we at least we got 15 minutes but then second half again Arsenal straight at it you know if um I’ve been in that situ I’ve been 5 nil down at half time before

Um and as a goalkeeper you genuinely start to worry and Fe the absolute worst you start thinking this could be 10 n then like this could be 11 this could be a world record Premier League score thankfully it only finished six but did you see the scenes at half timee on Sky

Where um there was like a helicopter camera and you had all the West Ham fans leaving the stadium that’s not good is it no that’s not good and but they were leaving before that I think after the fourth goal went in they they all then started disappearing and yeah like you

Say the sky cameras have highlighted it but it’s not good for for David Moyers and for West Ham but again but what can David Moyers do it’s it’s the players that that need to go out on the pitch and perform and they just didn’t perform Aral was superb what what what areas

Were Arsenal why were they so so able to just go and dominate so easily I just think they controlled the game like from Back to Front all the time I think sacka Martinelli um even trossard I thought he was excellent yesterday deam rice in Midfield just broke everything up and

Just everything simple um Alder guard as well they’re just so good like when they when they’re in free flow them players are so good to watch and they just caused West Ham so many problems and it and like you said it could have been more the the the one for me you know

When I think it was the third goal Dean rice whips the ball in set piece um and you had Creswell um stood on the sideline obviously they used to be teammates at West Ham and Creswell was watching him just about to whip this ball into the box and it’s an absolute

Pin perfect ball Cuts all the Defenders out the goalie can’t come and get involved in it it’s in the end it’s a simple sort of like flicking um but Creswell sort of standing behind watching this delivery come from his ex- teammate deam rice and deam rice wheels

Up the pitch and he just sort of looks at him to say we could do have a play like you mate if you were in that if you were in that West Ham changing room at half time what would you have been saying if you were the captain what

Would you be saying to the last to try and get them to go again in the second half well you got to try and stay motivated and positive as much as you can even though it’s R2 you’re 40 down to a team like Arsenal and you’re like

You say you’re lucky it’s only four um and and you’re hoping then that the start of the second half obviously David Moyes made a couple of changes to give him that little bit of a spark Zuma come off who was is he Captain he’s Captain is he West Ham’s Captain so he’s come

Off so he’s actually brought the captain off um but they just couldn’t get into it arsal were that good that dominant and and and the more the game that went on the more that it looked like they were going to score more than six in the end

And for me yeah I just for West Ham you just want that game over and done with as soon as possible and then yeah put it to bed obviously they’re going to be in today talk through it uh what what we could have done better will it be a talk

Through or will it be a shout through of let come on we’re talking about a bit of a derby here do you know what I mean this isn’t just sort of any other team in the Premier League this is the D Derby this is a London Derby David Moyes

Will rightly be very annoyed today and also he’s going to be under some pressure now as well because West Ham fans haven’t been the happiest of lately have they they’re going and get spanked 6 nil in their own back Garden the pressure’s on isn’t it of course it is

And and David Moors B today probably be feeling the pressure a little bit from what’s coming up above but you can only do your job until you’re told otherwise so yeah he’ll go in there I think they’ll have a meeting they’ll definitely have a meeting today and they’ll go through certain situations

With yesterday where they were not good enough especially from set pieces again arsenal were dominated in them and like even when you look at the third goal like we talked about there with deam rice that ball like you’re looking at the Defenders and you’re going they’re actually not even covering the near post

Space of where the goal’s gone in there was two players so for me that’s that’s disappointing and David moris will probably be asking questions about why why are we defending like that against a team like arsenal we can’t afford to defend like that and they need to get it

Right for the next game this is um this is almost like this is why I’m excited for this title race right so Arsenal old you would never be talking about Arsenal being a setpiece team teams that they’ve got players in there that can score would you’d never worry about that with

Arsenal it would always be almost them trying to walk the ball into the back of the net and that’s why I think this year in particular Arsenal have got a real Fighting Chance like I say it’s very close at the top they’re two points off

The top anyway um but I just think if they can keep putting performances in like that and scoring them ugly goals the set piece gos as well that’s massive for them isn’t it yeah and I think that’s where you you’ve watched Arsenal like especially this season last season

When artetta first took over is that they wasn’t very dominant in the air and and wasn’t very convincing when set pieces were going in and they were they were trying to play a lot of things short and trying to pass the ball into the net but we’re seeing a different

Arsenal now this year and maybe the Liverpool results given him a little bit more confidence in that as well was knowing that when they do go to teams like West H they’ve got to be a little bit more physical and they and they did when the ball went in the Box not only

Were they defending and putting their red in there and clearing it and you could see them when they when they were like blocking shots now they’re like celebrating as if to go yes come on when when have we ever seen that from an Arsenal team we’ve we’ve never since

Like Tony Adams and the Martin Keon days and Lee Dixon and Winters it’s great to see because like you say now it does the title League now is wide open with with with like I said the liverpools and the Man City so it’s getting exciting really exciting we’re going to talk

About the other teams in the title race quickly um something that people love to talk about celebrating against your former team Dean rice if that was you you just scored um if you were playing for blues and you had just scored against baggies are you celebrating you celebrate yeah but it’s it’s a

Celebration where you’re not going over the top with it I I didn’t quite understand it because he celebrated the other goals when he well obviously he’s from his set pieces and they’ve scored he’s he’s joined in the celebrations and he’s enjoying it but then he scored an

Unbelievable like a goal so I’m en I’m enjoying that and I’m celebrating it a first time whipper into the corner like that I’m running off celebrating I ain’t trying to rub it in West Ham’s faces here or anything like that but I’m celebrating but like I said I think when

He celebrates the other goals it’s almost like um not worried about the camera being on him so much do you know what I mean so we can kind of Revel in it a little bit more but no for God’s sake if you whip one in from 30 yards

Like that man I’m running off celebrating all day long to right all day long so have you ever celebrated against your teams like obviously being in goal when you’ve when you’ve like a clean sheet or a win or something yeah something like that even when like your

Team scored but it’s your old team that you played against have you celebrated it in goal yeah I kind of I will again I’ll be the same as you I’d be I’d be respectful with it but I’m celebrating you know that team pays my wages that’s that’s those support daers travel to

Come and watch their team and so I’m part of that team I I need to give them something to be happy and cheerful for so if we’ve just scored a goal or if we’ve just won the game M I’m with you I’m I’m doing it but I’m not rubbing it

In the face I’ll also go around and make sure I give a nice little clap to the the the other set of supporters because they at some point they were supporting me as well so they might have a nice little bit of a fness for me because

I’ll definitely have a fness for them as well you know if I’m playing against man united or or Birmingham or West Brom or Watford then yeah for sure man I’m giving them a little bit of love back why not as well well um what’ you make

Of this new blue card coming out Robert not for me not for me a bit like V it’s taking me time to get used to V but now the these blue cards are just it’s just it’s baffling it’s baffling the people even consider talking about these like

Bringing them into the game we we watch other sports and we love other sports we love we love how their rules go like the rugby we love how the rules are with that because we know we understand it golf the same with Rawlings if you if

You put your Club down in the bunker it’s a penalty shot why why are we even thinking about bringing blue Cards into football I just it’s beyond baffling so um they’re talking about giving a blue card for for things like descent or a cynical foul okay um and it would be a 10-minute

Simon um but again instead of actually just dealing with it the referees in the first instance so in rugby does anybody ever show dissent or anything to the referee where they’re they’re disrespectful no of course they don’t because they know the referee won’t stand for it and he’ll say get off

Simple as that get off Okay the reason why they’re doing it in football is because the referees won’t do that they won’t step up and go whoa don’t talk to me like that yeah it’s a yellow card if you do it again it’s a red card and I’ll

Happily send you off for it they’re now introducing this sort of like safety buffer of oh you you swore at me so here’s a blue card but what it’s going to do is it will slow everything down football is an opinion-based game isn’t it so everything will be completely as

To what somebody in a studio thinks that should have been a blue card it’s just going to slow it down even more isn’t it ridiculous but like you say there descent you get a yellow card but then if you go over the top you’re getting a

Red card the rules have been laid out at the start of the season with what you do and say to referees anyway so why are we trying to change it just the color of the card we know that you’re going to get a yellow card if you speak to the

Referee I don’t know whoever makes the laws right whoever is allowed to make the laws I want them to come out I want that person to come out and say this was my idea yeah this was my idea I said that like in a group of like all the all

The the panel that was there I think we should have a blue and it was only banter as well I was only joking when I said it as well and and somebody jumped on it and went yeah I think that’s a good idea it must have been well

Normally you just go sharp you don’t we talking about keep that one in your head and don’t ever say it again that’s what you’d say in football sh but just are you going to get to a point in football where the fans are going to be in the

Stadium for three hours like some American Sports yeah it’s getting ridiculous it is everything’s getting ridiculous it will slow it down so much so an just come out and said it’s what what what are you thinking come on J and klopp said a very similar something um

And it is it’s almost like the lawmakers are given free reign now to go and go right how can we um disrupt this as much as we can you know that beautiful game that you you love and adore and you’ve played so well in the Premier League and

Before and all that for years and years and years let’s now just create fun and games because it’s more talking points it’s going to annoy people it’s going to keep people in stadiums for three hours now on a match stage you know what I mean we’re already already seeing 7 8 10

Minutes at the end of the first half we’re already seeing 10 12 minutes at the end of the second half it’s getting ridiculous isn’t it well next thing what we’re going to have adverts and and like little breaks in the game 15 minutes we’re going to have like a little bit of

Music on so the they can enjoy themselves for a little bit and the players have just got to have a water break a little show come on like you will get we’ll get a performance can you imagine right say say me or you we were

On the pitch deal and we got a blue card and we had to go and sit on the bench for 10 minutes and wait and then expect to do another warm-up yeah then to go the tempo of the game and pace of the game you’re telling me as footballer

That’s going to be acceptable how’s that going to happen with a goalkeeper you’re just going to make a sub as a manager you’re going to go I’m making a sub yeah cuz what happens with a goalkeeper what if the goalkeeper gets a blue card yeah well exactly

Do yeah seriously what’s going to happen is a goalkeeper exempt from a blue card I sent off you got a g go you got put Ben you got put Ben’s gloves on for 10 minutes keep them warm for him and then if don’t try not to

Concede a goal oh um are we agreeing then um no are we agreeing rubbish it’s rubbish rubbish we agree and I think I think if you asked every footballer in the world ever they would all agree probably that yeah it’s absolute rubbish don’t bring it in but I bet you that

Ifab or whoever it is will put out a stat saying we asked and 95% of football has agreed it would be a good idea yeah but even that though why are we not asking the fans these questions imagine the fans pay money to go and be entertained by watching football matches

So if you’re a fan now you’re wasting your money one now because we are at the moment we’re we’re wasting time with V with the amount of time decision it is to to Speed the game up but now you’re asking a fan to sit there and wait for

Is it a blue card right so now you’re paying a hell of a lot of money to go and watch a football match and you’re seeing a player going sit on the bench for 10 minutes yeah to be siming by a blue card you know what they should do

Just ask every fan that walks for a Turn Style yes or no very simple touch screen blue card yes or no what you think and then you’ll get the answers at the end of it simple as that of course you will I bet you’ll be in it’s the best sport

In the world football and we all want to see it fast and frantic and enjoyable and at the moment we’re just we’re killing the game with all these these things that we’re trying to come up with um right let’s talk about the other teams in this title race and I want to

Start with Spurs okay um as it stands today if Monday um Spurs are seven points off the top if the roles were reversed and that was man city that was seven points off the top at this stage would you say Man City Co they’re winning

It yeah you would yeah with the with the full Squad that they’ve got now yeah you would yeah because you expected them because they do it every year 10 wins in a row for man city is yeah they’re flying at the moment and like we always

Talk about City because of how good they are at recovering points whereas we we talk about Tottenham and some like in the previous years they’ve not been very good at recovering them points but now this year with anine charge they look like they’ve got that bit between their

Teeth and they can close the gap but it was a massive win for them the weekend so uh Brennan Johnson’s 96 minute winner um these are the sort of games especially against Brighton as well Brighton are a decent team um but those sort of wins they’re like massive bonus

Points areen they you are buzzing your tree off for it and couple that with the fact that they now got a lot of first team players back from injury James Madison you got Mickey vanen Romero there’s a few others in there that have come back in do you think Spurs

Genuinely could be could be classed as title contenders at least yeah I do definitely 100% And now you’ve got SAR back as well basuma Sons back who come on and assisted for for Brennan Johnson at the weekend so they’re getting their squad back and when Tottenham had the

The squad fully fit at the start of the season they were a threat and they were like you said they were flying at the top of the league um pi up their injuries had a little bit of a dip but now everyone’s back and you saying that

96th minute wi goal as well will give them a lot of confidence and and going into the next game now and and leading to the end of the season you hopefully keep everyone fit they got a real good chance what’s that what’s that like Robo

Type of manager he’ll let him enjoy it but he won’t let him get too carried away because he knows now right okay we’ve just got the winner but come on let’s let’s build on this now and let’s go into the next game with the same

Mentality I just hope um I just hope all the players and all the fans inside the stadium actually got to celebrate properly and lost themselves for a minute do you know what I mean because there’s so many times where a goal go in and you half worried about V you half

Worried about it being offside or something in the buildup or something something might get picked out anyway I just St for that 5 10 seconds or something when that goal went in everybody was able to just lose the S and enjoy a goal going in and winning a

Game it’s it’s nice to see U man city as well then um watch this game Everton were decent Everton were decent man city were kind of a little bit off it but as usual earling Harland steps up scores his two goals it’s I saw R ferand say

After the game actually he said the thing that he likes most about earling Highland is he’s not bothered about not getting service he’s not bothered about touching the ball he’s not bothered about getting involved he knows when to come alive doesn’t he he knows that he will wait for that one opportunity two

Opportunities and when it comes he will be in the right place at the right time and he’ll snaffle it up like he always does yeah which he was for the first goal I mean what a strike beautiful which foot is he like when we watch his goals you don’t really know I always

Think that is he left footed he’s stronger foot which he looks like he naturally does that but then when he when he connects with that from the corner like the second phase with his right foot think he has to be left footed though right he has to be more

Dominant left so if you look at the second goal you can see him open himself up you can see him almost run the ball to create that angle to whip it and everybody knew where he was going to put the ball didn’t they everybody knew it

Because he was shaping his body that way Jordan Pickford knew he was going to put it that way but he just finds those little gaps those little holes it’s like he doesn’t necessarily always kick it the cleanest either but he will get it in the back of the net won’t he but he

Does what all good Strikers do I think when they’re One V one with the goalie they’re waiting for the goalie to make a decision I think pford obviously knew what he was going to do but that Split Second har knew that he weren’t going to get down quick enough so it was that

Different type of movement so if he just now turns his body and opens it up he maybe runs with the same pathway that harland’s now going and he gets there a little bit quick but because harland’s got that Split Second on him where he he’s got his back

To him he’s run now he can see his number now it’s hard for a Defender to T of turn now that way where he’s got a turn there but harland’s got the extra couple of yards on him so he’s but his body strength as well as a Defender it’s

Do you go in with him with your shoulder now or do you hold off a little bit longer and wait and just run that last minute slide but then he’s possibly thinking I could bring him down and get sent off here it was it was horrible cuz

You just saw him sort of get tangled with it you knew that Erin IR was was going to body him he knew he was going to wait him and um he just sort of crumbled to the ground I don’t know for a fact he will have watched that back

But this is all learning Defender he will be able to look back at that now and go do you know what in the future if I’m facing somebody that’s quick or physical or stronger than me then don’t bother getting involved at that early stage just try and wait a little bit

Longer for the chance where I can maybe hook it with a slide tackle or something like the that was the only thing for me was is that he literally he saw Harlem was there and he had his body position there so he straight away he knew where

He had him if the ball was slid by De bruyne down but because de bruyne is so clever he just waited for harland’s different change of movement but then break weight what he didn’t do was his body position was still straight so instead of now opening up that way so

He’s seeing harand go there so his body position is turning there he maybe might have had a better chance talking split seconds but that’s all it takes isn’t that’s all it is that’s uh 10 wins in a row now then like I say for Man City two

Points off the top with a game in hand um it’s it’s ominous signs it’s it’s almost like we’re so used to this happening now isn’t it at this of Time of the Season um Liverpool then uh another good win for them at the weekend

By all accounts by the way it was a 3:00 kickoff this one by all accounts Burnley did really really well and they had some opportunities as well Jurgen klopp wasn’t happy at fulltime with the performance of some of his players uh but it’s another big win it’s it’s kind

Of we we’re getting to the point now aren’t we where Liverpool man cities they just seem to they just seem to churn out these results don’t they well they do and like you say it’s they’re another strong team um and they’ll keep picking points up now as well um at home

Like I say when you’re at anfield it’s a tough place to go they made a few changes obviously Keller come in for Allison who was out not very well I don’t think he made some great saves and Burnley were good I was on the front foot foran um he could have scored a

Couple of goals towards the end of it but Liverpool they just they’re just strong in the forward areas when you got J you got um Darwin you’ve got Diaz Harvey Elliot now like the younger groups coming through you curtisy Jones that they’re good players and they’re always going to cause a team like

Burnley problems because again weak from set pieces and that’s where their goals come from and they’re always open with the the way that they play with the way the company wants them to play the football expansive a team like Liverpool are always going to find them gaps and

And cause them problems and I think in In Time Gone by you would always assume you know the the lower teams to be the The setpiece Specialist you know like back in the day Burnley or the Everton you know where they’ve got the big brutes the big big sort of English call

We’ll just put a ball in the box and we’ll go smash it I think what the what the bigger teams now are proving yeah is that set pieces are so important aren’t they you look at how many goals uh are scored now via a corner or a ball into

The box from a free kick or even a penalty penalties are given right left of center it’s a massive part of the game isn’t it you’ve got to be good you’ve got to be organized but you’ve got to be able to score those goals and

Defend them at the other end as well and that’s the thing I think it’s how much do you want how much you want it as a player it’s as a Defender how much you want to defend your box and and clear your lines and then the other end when

You’re attacking it how much you want to go and how much you want to go and win and score a goal it’s you’ve got to be ruthless in them areas and I think like you say a team like Burnley at the moment they’re they’re just struggling they’re struggling to deal with balls

Any balls that come into their box and Liverpool found out the weekend how easy it was to score the goals and yeah they just finding it tough at the moment to to find the results that they need do you know what I’m noticing is I think

Burnley have got some big Lads yeah a lot of the teams have got big Lads right but there’s still a difference in the athlete of that big lad if you look at some of the players that Liverpool have got you’re talking about the likes of a

Virgil Van Dyke or Darwin Nunes who were big Lads but how athletic are they quick are they their acceleration um their will to want to get on the end of balls and I’m not saying that the Bernie players haven’t got that or some of the teams haven’t got that but that is why

They’re the best of the best that’s why they play for Liverpool is because they’ve got more factors for their game haven’t they they’ve got they’ve got more attributes and and when it comes down to it the nitty-gritty these are the bits that make the difference isn’t it yeah Liverpool have also got the

Money to go and spend on them players AR they Burnley Burnley had just come into the Premier League this year so they’re just finding their feet and I think the first season and you’re always you’re just wanting to survive aren’t you when you go to the Premier League the first
