For 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 one Paul it’s a great day for racing and a great day for pinball good morning and welcome from me Jim Lindsay of jdl pinball we are back for the playoff stage of the main Tournament of this ho ho ho 23 tournament

Weekend uh so we are in the semi-final stages and I have a feeling that play is about to start it looks like we are going to be playing the first game on Venom but I’m not absolutely sure uh yes we must be we have Paul yoga here and we have a dry

Bor lurking in the background so we will go straight to that Rec you figure it out yeah so yeah we’re all all about to set it up ourselves right no problem so all ready to go as soon as you want to start get going okay good

Luck Ed so uh okay Ed dry bog just come in to check that we’re okay with the stream uh that’s really considerate because we’ve just been outside uh having a quick chat talking to Carlo Vin actually he was a really really nice guy um talking about smoking but anyway

That’s a different issue uh thanks for the sub Fox Cities uh great to see you on here as well uh and uh rainbow good see us and uh every everybody else on here absolutely wonderful so we are moving let me just show you the quickly know I’ll not show you standings the

Game is about to start we are in the semifinals okay Peter Anderson has already progressed to the final in the second semi-final uh in the first semi-final sorry this is the second second semi-final we have Paul yongma against uh Ed dry Borg the names here will

Change very very shortly and here we go with ball one on Venom Okay so we’ve learned a few strategies on Venom from the players this morning uh choice of Eddie Brock um is what Ed will choose he played that uh earlier on today and then he will change to Peter Parker

Uh once he’s built up the Mayhem multiball to as many balls as possible so um I’ll explain a bit more about that strategy to the best that I understand it which is not a huge amount so uh Paul um very very consider considered player he he likes to think

Very hard about the game before he decides on what he’s going to do um and uh okay takes uh the skill shot so 1.25 million points the uh there is a secret skill shot dropping into here for about 2 and A2 million and uh that’s unfortunate drain

And he’s not going to get that back it’s a very very short ball saver on this Venom all of the machines here at bulls and balls are set pretty hard okay so Ed starts a timer I’ll do the same thing here so we have a timer on

The screen to show you how long he’s going to wait for the Tilt Bob to settle uh Ed is normally a one minute man so normally you would expect that to count up to around a minute before he plays a drve Rog of course a jdale moderator the wielder of the mighty

Great green sword and uh also so an awesome pinball player rules knowledge and general really good guy his girlfriend is here this weekend Lena she was out at the Christmas markets yesterday this is another thing that we like about Ed he always uses the jdl pinball cleaning cloth uh before playing a game

Absolutely great advertising he is a tremendous asset to our team uh well done Ed and off we go ball one at Dy B selects a different song for his ears okay come on Ed are you ready ready to go so uh short plunge okay again he also gets the 1.25

Million skill shot we now need to shoot yellow shots so uh the first yellow shot will give him the first ball lock the second yellow shot will give him the second ball lock he will then cancel that multi ball uh and he will continue to try and

Get the third fourth fifth and sixth blcks before actually playing the multiball wow that was a big move he got away with it but unfortunately the machine threw the ball down the outl okay so no huge Advantage here at the moment uh but Ed does have two balls locked ready for Mayhem

Multiball so cheers uh this was booked by Ed so cheers Ed thank you very much for the beer when you get chance on the next game just put the player camera a bit higher cuz they’re both tall yeah okay we are playing best of five in this

Semi-final and the players get to choose the machine so we can’t tell you which machine is going to be next okay so uh you just have to wait and see whatever the Player’s Choice is and the person that chooses the machine also plays first so uh you can

Tell this choice and machine was Paul okay so Paul also gets his first lock the second lock is now on the left ramp so it’s here on the yellow shot that is a little dangerous we’ve seen a number of uh rejects from there comes up the ramp and straight

Down through the middle of the flippers so uh few people have tried backhanding that left ramp and failed only just failed right to the top of the ramp and screamed straight down the center okay so than said player that chooses play second okay uh that’s interesting I

Would have thought it would have been first so this is Ed’s Choice uh which makes a lot more sense because had played a really great strategic game on this earlier um it also shows by the way that Ed listens to the stream while he’s playing so uh that uh that is also good

Good information to have okay so just bringing another view into play here so that’s uh Paul in the hall camera so you can see him playing here his stance um you can actually also see him use the action button which is uh first for jdl pimo so Mayhem Mayhem multiball is now

Running I’m say this is the difference Ed will play to have more balls locked but um yeah different uh different styles different strategies different ways of playing it’s the winning the counts okay gets the Super Jackpot uh Riot defeated at 45 million points wow that was uh and he’s got Carnage multiball so

Carnage multiball is a is a huge scoring multi ball uh jackpot values in in 10 in 10 T of millions of points so 50 million points for that first one um just just watch the score accelerate as this multiball uh is in progress he’s now on 230 million points and uh climbing rapidly

Nearly 300 million and shoot the dle ganger oh du a danger there it’s not a good taking a danger during multiball but he’s now on 337 million points that was a uh that was a good score Dena just straightening up the rig actually not uh that well for Dena um but anyway okay

Uh yeah Ed is doing the in raising the uh thank you very much Ed much appreciated he could obviously hear what I was saying so he just raised the player camera slightly uh great ball from Paul absolutely uh m f uh and thanks for the sub as

Well uh right okay so uh Ed ball two he will be looking to do the same or similar to pul there and hopefully get past that 353 million points let’s see what happens hey that uh was not uh not good i’ playing the short Plunge in order to uh get

Control this guys is now in control needs to play I would say that’s Center ramp for the next lock and okay oh he’s got away with it okay that quite surprised him he thought that was a tilt shakes his head oh wow this is uh not the Ed dry

Bog that we are used to playing here at blls and ball in folder uh leaving definitely the door open for fall here the uh the thing from here is the strategy is probably less known so um yeah I think you need to look at flashing lights and things going on around

Here uh so it’s completed this row of um inserts these are uh Riot if you remember Riot he scored 45 million for completing that so I’m guessing you have to complete all of these four and that is being selected by the characters so he’s now on Flash Thompson which are must be that

Row uh Eddie Brock or maybe not okay all right uh a bit beyond my game knowledge at the moment Venom can be bruthal indeed Venom can be poisonous so lot of multi balls yet to play all thinking about something not quite sure what is uh y not really sure I

Don’t think what to do here great catch okay it plays the flashing skill shot which gives him 5 million points okay so that’s uh useful to know so the next flashing blue shot is on the right orbit it’s now Gone backand the scoop probably it’s a fairly uh fairly simple shot to backhand into Here D is there a battle for third and fourth place uh I would imagine so it’s ifp rules that you have to uh qualify all four positions in the tournament so you can’t have a shared third and fourth so you will always have a playoff the

Playoff can be a single game and uh is normally in fact a single game but you do need to break that tie between third and fourth so yes almost certainly Took a risk there he’s managed to survive double danger again he’s got a Super Jackpot L that’s the scoop he was aiming for that then should be able to back on this just to needs to be a little bit earlier so we got an another ball from

Sleeper and that must be the equivalent of drunen in uh Godzilla so in another multiv ball here so he’s managed to restart that I’m not quite sure how we did it 25 million Super Jackpot is uh making some great great progress here for that’s uh really 20 million shot

He’s nearly on well he’s over 500 million now in uh in score okay ball raced out of the right out lane uh looking in really really strong position here Paul so on the game that Ed chose nice this is uh ball three so Paul really put in the pressure on uh Ed Here okay so Ed has a a single blue flashing light on The Matrix this okay just need to do a couple of things in the background here just give me a second operation right okay sorry back to normal just needed to do a couple of adjustments on the computer

There okay so is uh Ed going to take the multi ball no he’s canceling it so staying with his strategy he plays it at four balls locked he’s not going to cancel this one he’s going to team up with a uh with a another member here and uh he is hopefully going to

Play Mayhem and immediately stack that with Carnage and you can see immediately he’s going for that captive ball the captive ball is Carnage he’s in Peter Parker so this is a mode where it needs less hits on the captive ball in order to bring Carnage multi ball into this

Stack and Carnage multiball is now running well done Ed and uh he now needs to knock off these jackpots keep hitting the captain PA as well so he’s now on 90 million just be careful don’t tilt Super Jackpot Agony defeated 139 million hitting the captive ball repeatedly it’s it again shoots the

Doppelganger nice uh nice control there really showing some uh flipper skills here 162 million still got a long way to go doing a great ball jugle oh is uh okay down to two balls he’s uh needs to be careful now he’s lost the okay only down to single ball and

He’s only on 173 million points he will be disappointed with that he played that strategy yesterday and was up at something like 450 at the end of that mul Ball okay so uh Nails the team up okay so see what happens next okay there’s uh sleep ad ball so this is what Paul Paul got as well during this multi ball so that must be a like a way to restart the multi ball great catch here great patience middle ramp no outside

Right orbit flashing yellow orange shots which he gets 3 million points Super Jackpot is lit oh and he drains okay wow so that’s uh First Blood first game to Paul yongma well done to Paul and we will moving now to game two that was Helena Helena Walters

Looking at the score there saying okay how did they do that then it’s uh pretty awesome okay Dena is moving the rig um okay Paul doesn’t bother putting his name in I think we’re going to be staying with the same rig throughout this uh semi-final

So uh let me bring you to the hall view I’ll show you a little sleeping puppy this is JD uh she went out for a lunch she went out for a walk um and she’s now back in a little basket having a nice little rest and she has two toys this

One is the chicken and this one is the elephant and the Elephant uh was a present from Casper Casper is from Sweden and uh he brought her that to play with so absolutely awesome right okay uh yes big Applause it’s Dena by the way not Tina uh Dena

With the D she is the D in jdl pinball but thank you and much appreciate that she deserves a huge amount of uh Applause for the work that she does um she really is uh quite something so um we are set up on the next game

Okay let’s uh just make sure yeah so we are going on the shadow so this is uh Paul’s choice so Paul will play second and uh yeah JD is good as gold if I’m if I’m in here in the commentary room she can hear my voice uh she’s

Perfectly happy to sleep um when I’m playing in the tournament I’m I’m going backwards and forwards in and out of the room is always up waiting at the door for when I come back uh so she doesn’t tend to get enough sleep but whever I’m sitting here and she knows I am because

She can hear me then uh she’s perfectly content to sleep away during the day which is uh awesome okay so Ed dve game two the Shadow and the shadow knows so another good example of cleaning with the jdl pinball cleaning cloth if you’re ever at one of our

Tournaments just asked to purchase one of these they are the best cleaning cloths in the whole of the pinball world without a shadow of a doubt and would I tell you a lie of course not okay okay so uh Dina is um do you want

No and this uh semi-final is not going that well for Ed so far yeah well I think he’s slightly cold cuz he came well is didn’t like he came out of a long time oh you don’t mean physically cold cold in the game yeah cuz he’s been

Sitting well he was sitting in here for an hour and a half commentating with it’s always great to have out at here but it’s probably not doing his spinball any good yeah so whereas Paul of course been playing constantly yes with a short Lun break and Paul uh started the day well by

Having 3.8 billion on ball one on Congo on Congo yeah so that was uh and he’s been uh behind on all the other rounds since because of that one game yeah well it was a uh it wasn’t even like the uh full extend of best of five it was a 31

At the end but obviously 3.8 billion on B one on Congo takes a long time yeah so uh would have been nicer stream but actually run out of things to say about Congo when you get to three .8 well by the time I realized it was such a such a

Such a great game it was already end of that monstrous ball one um so we couldn’t couldn’t stream it no it was uh not much points um so the uh one of the main uh strategies on this machine is to play the top Loops uh it’s called Loop combo so you play the

Orbit and then from here you play The inal Loop Round and Round And it builds a combo value over and over again uh to a unlimited score so you can just keep doing that over and over again rinse and repeat yeah that’s the Paul enger Paul

Enget strategy yeah and if you watch my YouTube shorts there’s a short of Paul enget doing that if you shoot six six of these top Loops then you get a third of cows uh walking across the display and it’s untangle the puppy okay no problem let’s have a a view of Dina untangling

The the puppy we have our very own or JD has a very own uh Puppy Cam of course uh what he did in Midsummer absolutely yeah um so uh okay J’s going back to sleep again we’ll switch back to the h camera let’s see if we can find the players in there should

We yeah it will be uh probably visible from from this one yeah yeah that’s uh in the back there okay so always is nice to have another view of the player he’s still too tall I think we need to chop something off the bottom of

The legs of uh Paul and Ed rather than adjusting the rig yeah you know why don’t we just adjust the players I did adjust the cameras a bit so did you try to adjust the players no I haven’t tried to adjust the players it might be seen

As a um oh nice that was great you see that from Med Med’s a great uh graphic sort of player and another nice bounce into KH wow that’s two great uh looky fluky whatever you want to call call them well the first one was definitely very fluky

That that second one was as well second one was kind of acknowledgement from Ed that that was not exactly what he played oh that’s a very very quick C on Multi ball so so um K was uh sorry Ed was telling me uh another trick on here that he can

Play I’ll see if we get a chance to show that so Ed uh lights lock two and takes it so uh one more lock this is sort of known as the shot of death CU if you shoot this there’s a drop Target here at the top and it tends to scream down the

Middle uh not down to the left flipper as I drew it but um it’s a shot that you almost have to take oh I think I is going for Battlefield first yeah so uh it that was okay so he takes the battlefield that’s the third lucky bounce into a into a

Hole so the battlefield is actually the paddle is has a bit of a fault on it it’s moving very very slowly it’s not ready ing it’s not registering that it’s well it’s not kicking up I think yeah he doesn’t know it’s there that’s why it just literally

Gently fell into the hole Yeah okay it’s gone up there now yeah but the Mongol attack is is finished or yeah I think they didn’t have enough the ball didn’t have enough power to Reg that’s uh three shots he’s had at that uh that multiball start and that’s

Four that’s five So Cal oh you’re better from the left yeah better from the left it is like just a little bit too late come on nail it y nice to have you qu commentating there I’m hiding from the fing people oh good for you that’s that’s a nice thing while

You’re in here they won’t bother you I hope not well if if they do just tell them to go away very nicely in in in a different language if you like it’s fine Well the different languages don’t sound very nice even if you do say something nice what would they do okay so lock a ball in any hole during multi ball and it doubles the jackpot value so that’s exactly what Ed did there is uh but you only get 10

Seconds so then the ball throws out yeah we tried to do the same again with the second B Gone So 229 it’s not bad but it’s not huge okay it gets another car multi-wall start with a deflection is um I think the pinball gods are on his side at the

Moment on this well sometimes that’s the only way to get to the con hole yeah for a deflation yeah yeah it’s uh it’s always been a struggle of M especially on this version uh is to start KH cuz it Doesn’t uh drop into that scoop uh from holding

The upper flipper upper flipper when when we first got this machine if you held the upper flipper up shut the orbit it always used to bounce into car and it stopped doing that I think I think Kim made an adjustment to stop it doing it because it was too easy but it was

Really really nice to play it was because if you knew about it it was like a game winner yeah all this uh Shadow obviously belongs to Peter Schmid and barbar Springer all right okay Springer uh Shadow so um you see Ed operate the diverter there the ball went halfway up

The ramp and he actually operated the diverter toed it as a flipper it actually just failed but it’s you don’t you don’t see it being demonstrated very often that was really really you kind of need to think to use another set of to that to do that

Right on the back hand on the orbit is actually very very uh useful as well yeah multi ball is great in a way that all the uh shots or the major shots are late for um jackpots all times so um that’s the um you don’t have to relight them

Yeah I prefer com multi ball to the main multi ball to be fair yeah yeah yeah and I say if he use the doubler he’s playing the battlefield at the same time it’s playing the multi ball as well it’s so showing some real real skills here that’s very great well obviously once

The ball is on the top play field of any sorts uh then it’s out of danger so may as well so he’s got a ball locked here um so yeah oh that was the deflection attempt yeah I think um Ed was a bit upset about uh not doing the venom

Justice so he’s fighting now yep time to time to battle time to battle Yeah Yeah well it’s like in a penalty shootout once if you lose the game that you picked then you kind of uh have a slight disadvantage y on the way to get out of that psychologically he’s win the next

Against your opponent’s choice so so yeah he’s uh played a great game here oh nice back and straight into the mode start that was awesome and the modes are so valuable here underwater Doom there is a white board marking somewhere okay so underwat Doom shoot the uh uh basic flushing shots or

Battlefield I suppose uh no you can’t complete this one on the battlefield the uh well he can well he’s defeating more counts at the oh you can defeat the battlefield you can’t complete the mode there are a couple of the modes that you can uh complete on the on the

Battlefield so which is useful to know which I never knew okay uh f is f is one that was a bit of a looping action yeah and that’s is that hurry up no what kind of hurry up is it uh that’s mongle it’s the right shoot the right

Orbit well he did shoot the orbit but it didn’t yeah right no he did backand the left orbit but okay might not have registered perhaps okay so that’s the end of the underwater Doom scene mhm the billion the bonus don’t tilt I think he’ll be happy with that that was a tremendous

Ball well played uh well played Ed um and look at the bonus 382 because all the mode points go into bonus uh tremendous 1.3 billion this is Paul yma who never gives up at anything his uh message in his head at the moment is okay I can do this of course you

Can don’t forget he chose this machine yeah well it’s um it’s difficult uh if I was Paul I’d have chosen Congo to build so for on um the success of Venom uh from the game we played this morning if you if you uh if you are uh the second player to

Choose then potentially uh it’s going to be 3 nil by the time you get to choose your next your next game so um yeah that’s um so you’re not going to get another choice so make the best choice next as inong Congo well on the other

Hand obviously he won the first game so he does get to pick he’s got a little bit of breathing game um this is uh Casper by the way the guy that gave uh JD the uh the elephant the little toy here M so um I really should switch JD off

Now and go back to the side view of the machine yeah so it is uh waiting on the uh double danger situation I love his uh skull and crossbones top by the way yeah he wears some great t-shirts and he it is so it’s got great collection well sort of uh

Groovy Rocky guys normally do um which is always um a groovy Rocky guy is that guys in okay a Gro I’m a am I in the category of a gry rocking guy you’re a you’re a classic gentleman oh thank you all right that that sounds better

Than well uh well they are like um the way that’s um for example johanes or Paul yma dress uh it’s not it’s neither Rocky nor groovy so it’s uh stylish uh y branded clothes well chosen well coordinated and all of my clothes are well chosen by you yes so true so that

Works well pinball tournaments don’t count cuz we have our tackle on all the time and we always wear the same t-shirts but we always wear a different color t-shirts every day so I hope you realize that that’s for the benefit of people who think we might be wearing the

Same t-shirt every day there are some pinball players that do that and we wouldn’t want to be uh uh connected with with that in any way so that’s why we have four different colored jdl pinball t-shirts uh Ed gets to put his name in this is obviously the name

Of nerd okay now that’s the the initials of somebody that had daily care for that will be in memorandum of and and so on so uh all right so we will be moving on to game three and uh yeah and up we you’re going

Don’t think he slept very well last night and uh he’s he’s not had a particularly good ping off I don’t think this morning uh right okay so uh whole view Let’s uh watch some moveing the rig you can see Ed is a experienced rig mover

Um he is uh so has been well trained by Dina so we are coming out to what looks like maybe scared stiff scared stiff or it could be creature this of course is Ed’s choice you also see Robbie hlan playing there he’s having dropped out of the

Main tournament he’s is now playing in the Ping golf so the nice thing about Ping golf is he can bring people into the tournament uh at pretty much any stage they play their pingl holes uh with a a partner so two or three people play together and um that means you

Don’t need scorekeepers because the players are checking against themselves in terms of the scores that are recorded and uh and so therefore even though Robbie dropped out at quarterfinal stage it still means he can play uh the Ping golf hes as long as he completes them before the uh the cut off

Deadline okay so uh uh cleaning going on um from Paul I doubt it’s a jdl cloth but um it could be actually it’s the right color I I think that’s just a bar towel so uh okay a fellow Dutchman helping you out there so we are on WrestleMania wow

Okay uh this is um all right it’s a surprise but uh if Ed Ed speak this then Ed clearly knows how to play the game so WrestleMania um all about wrestling surprise surprise surprise and uh there are various tricks these um slingshots up here are actually flippers so you

Operate your flipper buttons and they operate the sling shots here you can see Paul doing that at the moment you basically want to knock out the targets here and also the one two three from the hole so you see Paul making good use here and you say you can use them just

Like flippers okay so there is a skill to uh to that I would have thought this game would have actually suited Paul pretty well so shoot back up here to get to the ring and then just keep going through this process so ideally catch the slingshots use the flipper

Effect and uh there’s a bit more to the game than that but that’s the biggest principle get back up on the top play field and you can start a one two 3 multi ball from here uh by going into the hole is already got 1 2 3 lit he

Just needs to go into that hole three times in order to start that multi Ball but it’s say it’s not that easy uh it’s uh it’s a little alien in terms of the use of these thing shots to act as flip as you can see Paul operating them here

And uh say it’s far far from straightforward a danger of tilting ear got to be careful so always taking on Seth Rollings who is obviously a WrestleMania star and anybody that follows WrestleMania will know these people I am absolutely sure this machine came out um around about I don’t know 10 years ago

No probably longer than that um no about 10 years ago and uh was never really that popular I don’t think uh you don’t see many of them around but it’s been a machine here at B balls for quite some time that was a great uh anticipation great flip flipper action in order to

Save the ball he at uh nearly 10 million okay come back to single commentator view soon as I don’t have a co- commentator anymore so tag team multiball ready so uh if he goes okay he’s now off with tag team multi ball and again hit the uh red

And blue targets and then you get a strobing jackpot going across the targets oh nice so he takes the two takes the two again doesn’t seem to be doing anything I think he needs to uh they like the targets first but he’s on 45 million points which is a nice start to the

Game he getting an award but it’s only 25,000 points that’s not giving him very much uh this is a certified tournament Dan so uh uh it’s not uh an ECS event so it doesn’t get a booster but it will have a tgp of 250% so 20 rounds of group match play

Plus a 24 player Best of five bracket with the players choosing machines qualifies for a certified Plus on the calculation on that will be 250% okay so uh my co- commentator is back yeah so I said for both uh for both machines now um um as we discussed before my disappearance

Um Paul is going to play Congo um in his last game so uh and at the moment there is a king golf group being played led by Arno and I asked him to switch the machine off as an indication that is not okay uh to be played in pingle for this moment in

Time so that’s a machine duplicated in both tournaments yes unfortunately that’s in both pingol and um and the main there is a bit of a tag team going on yep and this is Ed’s choice so Ed uh yeah will know that Paul played a great

First ball on this his uh 45 48 million points okay so tag team multiball ready shoot the ring so uh that will be Ed’s next shots there he goes that starts this multi ball and let’s see what Ed does during this you s to them yeah nearly

Lazarus so we don’t seem to be going up onto the top Playfield very much which is I thought where all the points was but he’s up at 31 million points so he clearly knows what he’s doing on this well you need to do the tag hole again

Um yeah oh and he got the other ball from the top that’s the tag the T that’s the tag Target there so that gives you the other ball okay so now it’s uh now it’s top so yeah that’s the problem it’s uh if you sort of slightly overdo it it goes straight

Down the other ramp so now we’ve got uh staging going on you see this flipper is not moving and yet the top top flipper is he wants the he wants the uh um scope for Super Jackpot 17 million again okay so out but he’s now on 120

Million so look at that score rocket up there that was incredible the um the scoop on the top play field is rather difficult to get um oh obious it’s not your usual uh flipper control up there so actually nice to see this game being played by somebody who clearly

Knows how to play it yeah yeah so it’s got tag lit again so you shoot tag every time it’s lit because it has been doing so far so there’s obviously benefit to it yeah she say again one more for the tag team okay well the tag is where the points are and

The bonus multiplier so the the pin tip advice is always do the bonus multiplier when you he’s given him an extra ball here cuz he still on player two yeah okay say Paul’s saying uh play on uh there’s um is it not is it like a k kickb thing
