Welcome back ladies and gentlemen to our third video so make sure you’ve liked subscribed and rang that notification Bell to make sure you get in these early it’s Wednesday today we’ve got three more viewing days today Thursday Friday before our sale on Saturday the 17th and I’m joined by my learned colleague and

Great mate George who’s consigned some of these wonderful things you see before us this is the alternative transport George isn’t it this yes it’s still got wheels yeah some of it’s human powered some of it’s battery powered and one of two have got something that isn’t very environmentally friendly

Called petrol engines which we like those we do like those very much was a trouble to start with it was we should talk about this because this if you were a young child in the 1980s with incredibly Rich parents they would go to harro’s and as the spoiled brat you were

They might buy you one of these this is a miniature Volkswagen and these are amazingly collectible in the Volkswagen and Porsche fraternity this one is built by Roger Jayla very renowned builder of such things it runs and drives it’s had loads of money spent on it under the

Deck lid here if you just come around here Elliot we’ve got a New Old Stock Honda engine like look at that so it is petrol it makes loads of noise and as I say if you were a very very lucky child in the early 80s your M and dad would

Buy you one of these there’s a whole range of this kind of stuff it’s actually got if you look on the back genuine Beetle tail lights on as well they are genuine OEM Volkswagen lenses what I thing where did you find this George it was one of the team that found

It actually and I think what’s been happening uh the last 6 months you find that there collectors have got eclectic things not only cars motor bikes push bikes enamel signs and whatever and so in this case I think because of the sale we had last time somebody thought well

We seem to be doing quite well with these kind of things he might have had it for his grandson or his son or whatever it is and he decided to sell it um and as you say built by Harrods or sold by hars for ex people that wanted

Something nobody else could have other than the fact that he could afford to pay it and there’s been others make I mean Mercedes making them Porche been making them they stand out I mean there’s a poor Sho Union uh that they made for the dealership they made hundred and they’re fetching 11 and

12,000 I know well this is not cheap but we should warn people don’t go thinking you’re going to buy this and little Timmy is going to drive it around the lawn this is a proper Honda engine in the about this is rapid isn’t it this is not like one of those little electric

Things you used to get from Toys R Us this is basically a Go-Kart with a body on it so prepare to lose your shins legs and limbs if you let the kids drive this and drive it somewhere safe now what’s really interesting we have a real beetle

In this H in our second video this is probably going to fetch more money than the real beetle we’ve got this estimated at 3 to four grand do you think Drew Drew will agree with that well no we’ve got a little one we’ve got a 69 which

Would be quite price green one yeah the green one we’ve also got a Caron convertible which is very very special yeah but yeah I was just taking it was a VW I thought i’ never go at dick for you but Dre would fit in this one this is

Very much his bag actually but three to four grand if you’re a Volkswagen collector or a Porsche collector you already know what you’re looking at very hard to find one at all and this one’s lovely ready to go even got the Tano look it’s brilliant so you can park it

Outside just amazing in your Volkswagen collection again another Rarity Suzuki lt50 nice all- round condition obviously been used and loved and enjoyed long-term dry stored but again a rare old thing this it’s just it’s obviously a kids quad bike or toy but again it’s not not like the thing you bought from

Toys or us this is rapid machine isn’t it yeah I mean the these are kind of things that you’d find actually people like Farmers they’ll have the bigger version of it for rounding the Sheep up and little Johnny or fed or pizza whatever his name might be think well I

Want to follow me dad on his quad bikes through the mud and they buy things like this but e as well you know there people that live in larger areas you know and they can take these to steam fairs and things like that and you have a lot of

Fun with it but yeah it’s two strokes it makes all the right noises and goes equally quickly and 500 to ,000 you could take that home very collectible these are just things if you’ve got a she shed or manave either actually use them for what they meant to do or like

We’ve done here just display them in the corner of your space really they’re just wonderful things to look at aren’t they now this is a BSA style pedal car so it’s built and style to replicate a 19 30 BSA 3-wheeler constructed around a metal frame it’s got Pedal Power so it’s

Very environmentally friendly looks like it’s been beautifully brush painted at some point in its life it’s a one off isn’t it George that well it is um and um I’ve been around long enough to see people that uh are very enterprising I had a very good friend of mine that used

To build pedal cars of three-wheel Morgans yeah um and he built it for his son and then people say well you build one for mine and this I think fits that exact same thing it’s been well engineered you can see there’s a steel frame underneath and there obious cycle

Mechanics it is but you know the idea of a it’s made of wood so it’s never going to rust but a fly screen what it is and you know you could have that even if you had a barber shop and you wanted in the shop window so he could be used as a

Display a lot of these things you could put kids in it and so they sit still when you cut the hair well it adj just lots of things it’s really well made I mean it’s beautifully crafted that seat it’s all done by hand out of wood I mean

It would cost you a fortune to get a Craftsman to do that yeah someone’s obviously poured love into this but the way they’ve mounted the mud guards on here I mean it’s it’s just it’s it’s the man that made this knew what he wanted

To do and achieved it and I have to say this time I was looking enough when my father’s alive when I was about four yeah my prized position of me as in is in a pedal car looking like a Bugatti did they have cars then they did wow

Yeah and we did have electricity yeah but and and we also had running water and you didn’t have to go to the toilet in the backyard I just thought it just sticks and hoops and stuff like that okay no you’ve been reading the wrong books you must understand that but yeah

No so that’s that the little Renault um again isn’t this gorgeous yeah all we should point out that’s no Reserve Way despite the amount of work that’s clearly gone into that how beautifully done that’s no Reserve is it it is no Reserve yeah so it’s great the little

Renault lot 49 there and not quite sure how many made but when Renault was basically 100 years old of a race that took place from 1906 and this was made in 2006 with the little thing on the front of it all metal Renault badge on the front it’s just a lovely thing and

Again you know if I had that it would go in my stock well yeah if you’re a Rena spaceist if you have a Rena dealership I mean that’s a proper collectible that isn’t it what wonderful thing it is absolutely so obviously it looks a lot older than it is but it’s isn’t that

Fabulous and it’s no Reserve yeah so a lot of great things here that you can buy now George tell us about this the Atco trainer this is a real bit of Automotive History this isn’t it it is all right so in 1939 um the government at the time approached Atco to build

What was called this junior trainer the idea is they were going to build 250 of them and uh they were to teach children of 11 12 or 13 they are to driving a car yeah so it’s got breake pedal it’s in fact accelerators in the middle um they

Were going to build 250 but in fact when war broke out they’d only Built about 200 of them uh from the information that I’ve been speaking to there’s a lawn Mill Museum in Southport which a friend of mine Brian runs there’s about 45 of them are registered in its own car club

Incredible and this has been restored people say oh it hasn’t got the right Wheels well the reason why it doesn’t have the right Wheels the wheels that were origin on you neither can get the tires or the wheels anymore so this is actually usable now it’s very usable

It’s got a little village 98 cc engine in the back of it it’s got a forward and backwards gear um and uh yeah I mean they are unbelievably collectible so there you go and they are also unbelievably expensive so you know that if you want to buy one so these are 9 to

11,000 so we’re getting into quite sizable classic car money but you won’t find many and particularly not in that condition will you no no I mean it’s not quite got the right transfer on the FR it should have a Union Jack on it but it’s and the other thing was the

Original ones the little St Christopher badge on here was silver I me you can imagine yeah very hard to find a I can imagine yeah but no but it’s been nicely done I love that now this is an interesting little thing so again Charles electric car no reserve and

Another scratch built what there some very clever people about have made all these beautiful C is um for the environment it’s electric I know there’s a big battery in the front here so it literally is press and go and again you know it sounds it looks a bit

Crude but somebody’s gone to a lot of trouble just look at putting the Louver in there we’ve got Louver we got we’ve got a shaped Tin Top i’ imagine that youve got lovely wooden sides this I mean the work that’s gone into that is just unreal isn’t it yeah you wouldn’t

Make that in five minutes that’s for sure and that’s what I like about something it’s been preserved it’s here and it’s had a life with somebody or many people maybe and it’s time now for somebody else to enjoy it you can have it as a static you can have a place

Where you might may sell lots of plants and things like that you just imagine that at your reception and you can see that so you could use it as an advertising tool and you could as well just admire it but like we’ve done here if you’ve got any of Podium or raised

Area in your shop or perb or bar whatever it is this this just looks great set dressing all of this isn’t it absolutely or use it and have fun with it now as a Nottingham lad I need no introduction to the rally Chopper one of our finest exports the now this is a

Very special edition this is the Mark III Ben Sherman limited edition they only made 400 of these we understand so it’s a late choer it’s not the original 70s one so you’ve lost the it is yeah you’ve lost the classic t- shifter but that’s a very very desirable thing again

Nice fashion crossover desirable collectible and hard to find uh yeah relatively hard to find um what I would say about it looking at the tires um they’ve had very little wear whatsoever sadly the Chrome on the mudguards neither needs redoing or get replacement would go the rest of it with a really

Good clean would make a first class machine oh yeah um and I think that is no Reserve as well um and just with a bit of time mean just look at the chain still got the original wax on it the Chrome it’s just it just needs cleaning

And the mud guard sorting out and you’ve got something you could take and admire you know if you had a racing team you want to be on a pit bike around Al park or something great fun something like that it’s very groovy I have to say and

Also I think the valy chopper if you look at the prices of the Mark ones which are now insane more than cars in some cases that could be a relative bargain for a chopper couldn’t it it’s going to be not as much as a mar one the

New ones the mkvs which they brought out in August last year right ironically people are keeping the boxes right and they’re selling them for about 1100 crazy with the Box the box is worth more than the bike that’s how stupid it can be so you went to your mom in the 1970s

And said Mom can I have a chopper and she goes no you can’t have a chopper we haven’t quite got the budget for that so she bought you instead a howford scrambler which is what the kids that couldn’t quite afford a chopper got wasn’t it it’s basically that’s like a tomahawk isn’t it

Tomahawk around this time I mean this is not texting my knowledge too much but I was brought up around pushbacks and my father had a bicycle shop and we sold BSA and motorbikes as well but that’s buy and buy but the interesting thing about is not only did people like hords

But curries they’d commission having their own brand of bicycle made and obviously hulford saw that the rally chop of the mark ones which came out of’ 68 were popular so they decided they’d have one of their own as you rightly said is a cheaper brand and as you can

See it’s still got the stero of 3-speed with the original t-shape uh control on the thing on the handle bar now I haven’t been able to find another one around at the moment how many they sold in the mid ’70s I have no idea but for

150 clean it put the new rim on it some tires you could have a unique Chopper version of something so if you collect Choppers you’d want to check that as well would you know who I think might buy that I’m massively into the aore Volkswagen we’ve got this obviously this whole

Basically rust look and rat look they call it imagine if you’ve got an old rusty pattina Volkswagen camper and you get that running in commission but leave it exactly as it is that would look fantastic and just for riding around the Volkswagen show yeah we imagine on the

Roof rack when you go to V people Dro it and what is it by the way a hord well alford’s now you go and get nuts and buls and F it used to be a proper Bike Shop didn’t it it was so was CES as well

Back in the day back in the day that RAR the Rari is a plenty this is interesting cuz I my two or three favorite words in the English Cannon after no Reserve is New Old Stock basically so this is New Old Stock so an epx make a New Old Stock carbon fiber

Mountain bike for all the people who love old vintage and retro mountain bikes this is going to be getting them very excited indeed isn’t it well I think it’s it’s a very early on when manufacturers wanted to make machines lighter and obviously making what I call

This shape of frame which is like Canter lver basically U made of carbon fiber lots of Italian um lightweight hubs suspension I think it has something like 27 gears 27 gears yeah nped blocks procket as well yeah yeah and and that was kep became available where you’d put

Nine on the back and three in the hub so it gave you the derivative I to imagine the amount of wear the took effort to get it going when you’d got it in the lowest gear you’d almost be standing still but New Old Stock not many of them

Will have existed for sure in this country in that condition for the money money that we’re asking for it would be something as you say special for somebody that wants to look into that part of the history of bicycling yeah if you want to have the ultimate sort of I

Guess ’90s naughties collection you want that in it’s 21,100 to 2,300 would be the estimate for that just very much of its time isn’t it both in the color and The Styling and the componentry it’s a little moment in time well when you when you got somebody like I think it was in

’92 Chris Balman and he wrote one of the first Carbon Fiber bikes in the Olympics which was had some technology put into them by lotus at the time remember it and it was sorry about this you know thought you might not have remembered that no I do I remember it well but um

So you know it was an ERA when bicycling was changing because of using more modern materials to make them as I say light strong um and easy to maintain to be quite honest with you as well very beautiful B that now this is very interesting this because our eagle-eyed

Viewers will spot there is no chain ring and sprocket on this bike because it is driven Believe It or Not ladies and gents by a shaft that runs down actually the chain stay at the back isn’t it yes so um without giving too much of a history lesson about bicycling um around

About the end of the 1890s uh more and more Bankers manufacturers were looking to sort of save weight in some ways with machines chains and things and this was made in Germany but d off but FN in Belgium May and Rover in this country also made a shaft drive so it’s a bevel

Gear that goes as you rightly said through one of the stays to the back wheel um spoon brake on the fact um I’ve never seen one before I’ve seen plenty of fens and I once tried to buy the Rover shaft drive but it’s very very collectable and it’s a lovely machine

For somebody that wants to have a bit of History uh that will never be repeated but also very clever because you don’t get oil on your trouser leg do you what a great design that’s a really elegant bike what a stylish thing now these do as you say fetch great money and are

Incredibly collectible we’ve got that estimated at 22 to 2400 but that’s actually a very usable bike isn’t it we obviously check all these things where we can to make sure they ride properly that rides like a new bike yeah you the one thing you’d have to be careful with

It the tires what they call beaded Edge so for somebody that knows about cars going back even before I was born tires were put on with beaded Edge and so you have to nip it under and all the way around the tires are getting very hard

To get the last ones no were been made in Czechoslovakia there’s none been made in England so you’d have to be very careful with it um but it’s perfectly ridable you can see the rims have been done at some stage and again it’s a bit of History it is lovely thing and the

Nice thing about all of these bikes if you wanted to start a different collection maybe you finished your car collection you filled your Workshop you want to just add a bit of dressing they don’t take up much room do they any of these bikes well hang them on the wall

If you you couldn’t come to my garage and say that because I’ve got quite a lot of push bikes I need to come and visit that’s for sure so that’s lovely more traditional in its architecture but no less beautiful is this this PUO so if you’re a PUO collector a PUO dealer a

Pjo cycle Enthusiast this is a little glimpse of history back to 1899 well I mean you can’t believe this is a bike from 1899 it just looks like something from the yeah from the 40s well no it’s to me it does as well absolutely is the

Thing about it is in terms of History very quickly um by the 1900s everybody was wanting to go a bit quicker yeah right and uh there was a number of tracks set up in Britain where you could do racing round an oval track in fact hear Hill is still down in London where

They still do it every year um and basically he didn’t need brakes you didn’t need mud guards and gears were complicated so if you look the driving wheel here is big old CH ring is it so it takes quite a bit of getting going yeah right but once you’ve got that

Motor in it will really go down very quickly um and so as you can see you get in that position L like that and you know that’s to stop your feet slipping off they’re called rat Trap Pedals but look at the quality of the components and the the chain the quality it’s just

It chain yeah isn’t it gorgeous so again a little bit like the Dum cof that’s going to be probably two grand in a bit isn’t it to take that home is yeah it is but find me another in that condition I think that’ be and it’s even got one of the original seats

Which I think is from French you being multilingual can you tell me oh Groupon guarantee yeah obviously yeah very much so yeah you knew that didn’t absolutely it slipped off your Tong so easily yeah one of my favorite seat manufacturers was that while you were eating snails

That happened very much and it brings us on to finally this which I’ve done a little video on if you go on to our previous Instagram re you see a video of me in this I have to say with all modesty uh masterfully I think around with the obstacle course we set you

Thankfully you didn’t knock anything I know and some of it was some quite expensive motor cars so this I absolutely adore this and just to be cards on the table guys you know so transparency and hands in the air I’m going to be bidding on this on Saturday

Because I rode this bike and what is amazing about this is the seat go so far back because I have ridiculously long legs so with very few exceptions most bikes that I sit on I don’t really fit on but this because you can put the seat almost back into the next postcode it

Almost goes to Liverpool this seat doesn’t it from runcorn you can make this incredibly comfortable to ride it’s also got an amazing balance point so you may see on the video that I’ve been riding this you can ride it really slowly but slower than a normal bike I just found it an

Amazing thing so this is the biky recumbent bit of a story with these isn’t there yeah well recumbent basically is it says you’re reclining which was all about and in other words said your wheels going up and down feet going up and down there you’re in a reclining position this is a

Two wheel version of them with again 24 gears or something like that um but there’s some that with four-wheel drives there’s also some that we can take two people as well one of my neighbors has got one which has got the four wheels on and he has a flag so when he’s going

Long cuz you’re quite low you can go see him going past the cars but they they are unbelievably relaxed to ride I just love I want to take it on a like Center parks and just waed about you do need it don’t you about five liters of chain

Cleaner and chain lube every time you do a service the longest chain I’ve ever seen well it is the longest chain I don’t think you want to put too much oil on it because otherwise You’ be chaining your trousers or your socks or everything every time you go out no I

Mean it it with modern oils of course you can put some oil on it but you don’t need to be like the old days where you’re out with you three in one every time you took it out but it it again is another little bit of history and is in

Really very good condition um and it’s no Reserve I know which is my favorite thing so I’m going to have a little bid on that maybe you want to bid against me we can bid together and see who is the worthy winner now finally go on would

Like to show you what I believe is the star of this sale right dating back to 1886 come this way come with me come with me get ready for this right George now you have conserned this you have found some amazing things for this auction over the last few years

I think you’ve excelled yourself with this this of all the things you’ve bought in I think this is the most wonderful please tell me the story of this this is a tandem isn’t it tandem trike yes it is exactly tandem trike um it dates from 1986 built by a company

Called quadrant which was based in sheep coat area of Birmingham in the 1880s it’s a model 15 um so they 14 other different versions of it from their conception this is an exceptional machine the detail the effort that’s gone into building it and all the things

That it has is amazing quickly you can look just the hand bars up and down and different angles in bring the seat up and down so it’s some the shorter legs if you’re very long you can alter the cranks by bringing the pedals here oh you can actually change the stroke of

The crank H you exactly something that they inherited actually from Penny farings but when you’re going downhill you can Coast you put your feet on here look how they put the protectors on there everything is adjustable and the interesting thing about it was I was reading that the roads in those

Conditions roads cart tracks cobbles for horsse and things the steering are they sted together yes they do so but it goes centrally right down there so where’s bikes often steer from up here yeah they steer down there so that means I can steer from the back so if you fall

Asleep on the front I can not only pedal your home back from the pub but I can actually steer us back as well exactly you can slump over your picnic basket exactly right so and that is a very much a feature that funny enough is a little

Mud guard to stop the mud splashing up on you which is quite interesting isn’t it beautifully detailed isn’t it now in here is this gear system where in fact it’s you can see the massive chain that goes here and then it obviously drives this one drives from the person the back

Is obviously so they’re linked together all this is linked together with ball bands and races gous not just it’s beautifully engineered in every way and anybody that knows about how cars break it actually has a brake here that like grabs it with leather I can see like and

You used to see cars used to do on the prop shaft so either I can do that with my foot or you as the driver can do it with your hand yeah exactly God you can I see what you mean about the ball races and the Freedom Movement

Beautiful and and in the day when you think um in Britain um in the areas like wolver Hampton Birmingham and Coventry there was probably something like 300 most manufacturer making bicycles no motorcycles no cars and they were all trying to outdo everything and the interesting thing is there’s a

Description here about that partic or this particular machine from an article was printed in a newspaper article in 1893 and that’s a replica oh really is this like the rolls Roy to bikes then basically if you turn with this say it was the Rolls-Royce but it it was it was

Just I mean this was £35 when it was new oh that’s a lot of money it was a lot of money but I think it’s now valued at about 15,000 that’s the low estimate but I went into a local bicycle shop here to get a tire for one of those machines

Which cost £750 yeah for the T I know it’s talking to him about and they had a bian racing bike a modern one which is now £15,000 so it’s easy to see how these make the money yeah but again very usable everything works beautifully it’s

All oiled and ready to go I could sit on the back as the fat lad and it’s even got a wheelie bar just so we don’t tip up and as the ultimate thing to gently paramel to the pub with your friend or your loved one this is it isn’t it yeah

I mean what I what I like about working in this auction environment um and have done it as you know for quite a long time you never know from what auction to the other what you’re going to get no right and what I like about it every now

And then is you can be very pleasantly surprised so to have this it’s never been in an auction before there’s only six around aren’t there there’s only six there’s only one other one in this country that’s known and I know where that is uh there’s a couple in America

And there’s a couple in Europe but I’m led to believe the one in this country you actually cannot ride it it’s not complete well there you go so it’s the only one in the UK is if you have a bike collection a bike shop if you just like

Any kind of alternative transport you have some kind of Museum or anything where this type of Machinery is on display you need this as George said it could be the thick under 15 grand to buy it but as we often say here find me another so there you go thank you George

Amazing consignments in our fun and alternative transport selection make sure you’ve liked and subscribed make sure you register to bed at man Mana Park classics.com and make sure that you’re here on Saturday morning from 9:00 or if not I’ll see you online and can I just say as a PS uh I’m always

Here most of the time time um if there’s anything else that you have particularly interesting that we like to sell there’s quite a number of lightweight machines curly Hutchins and the like um that you know people have had for a long time and maybe want to sell any of the earlier

Bicycles from pre-war Sunbeam singer rudge and the like they always have a market for people I am a member of the veteran cycle club and have been for many years and there is not unfortunately any auctions taking place in Britain for this kind of machine and

If we can do here at man and park please let us have the chance and let these vehicles have or not Vehicles these machines find new homes well set sir well said
