Hey guys so in this video I’ll show you um how I fitted Oxford hot grip wraps um this is a unique scenario where you want sort of heated grips for your pons um but um you know there’s no real solution to that exists other than maybe giving them heated gloves which are

Battery pow or to the bike but this is a set and forget sort of solution um which yeah is more convenient it’s like having heated grips basically just for your passenger um as long as you connect it to a switch live uh you can just

Leave it on the bike it will turn off with the bike and um yeah so stay tuned to see the fitting and review I guess so here’s the Oxford hot grip wraps so this is a new um kit from Oxford they made this similar set before but that only

Had one Heap uh setting it was just on and off so it got really hot then um basically you the passenger or whoever was using it had to turn it back off um as as it got extremely hot so you get the two wraps you get the wiring harness

And the switch with two positions and it comes with a metal Mount and then a deive mount and also cable tie so you can cable tie to a point here you can see I’ve got an old set of um Chinese grip wraps which I tried bit of a waste of money um they

Brand called is TOS or whatever i z t o s they’re USB powered and I got the controller version which you don’t always get with them so you have to make sure you pay extra for it but um these weren’t very hot um even on the higher

Settings the USB hub on the bike for some reason they’ll only work on low and not on high is like a voltage fluctuation and something in this circuit board um so the only way I could use them was with a power bank or um with the SAE cable directly connected to

The battery uh so USB converter from the SAE cable point but they weren’t hot enough anyway so um I don’t recommend these ones quick tip you can use packing foam um to thicken the grips if your RB rils are quite thin but also it can insulate

The grips as well which helps a little bit so now I have it all wired up and um just testing the switch to see if it all works and heats up so that’s the relay of the inov power hub this is the cap I was talking about earlier if you decide

To remove the grips during summer you can just plug the cable or cap it so there’s a switch near the plion grab handle as you can see it’s like 0° in the garage so really cold now that’s why you need the grips I guess so yeah

That’s the high mode and down is for low I’m going to have to call out Oxford for this because the whole point of this new model was they added a low heat feature but when you use it you barely feel anything like almost nothing and someone else um in their Amazon review pointed

Out the same thing I think it was an Amazon review um yeah so it kind of defeated the purpose I could have just got the older model which was a little cheaper at the time um yeah so it’s not as convenient but the high setting um is good and um

Hot enough so your passengers likely just to be using the high setting kind of defeat the purpose of the new model though so this is the final product it looks um clean enough I think it has the switch in an easy place access with a cable tie

Which Oxford also give you the option to if you don’t want to use the sticky Mount or the metal bracket um yeah you can also obviously reach it when you’re sitting on the bike which is the whole main point of this uh yeah both settings could be accessed kind of pointless low setting

Though but at least they can turn it off I yes here’s the final wiring it’s not it’s a bit messy to be honest but all the accessories I kind of Salvage I Sav the wiring I don’t cut them or make them shorter just in case I

Move it to another bike and but you can see I tucked all the wiring on the left under the frame and they follow the routing uh where the Body Works sort of has a gap so there’s no pressure points on the cables themselves so in practice they do work

Um they do keep Pan’s hands warm the low setting is not really useful for practically any scenario so you just expect to use the high setting um I widen to a switch live so it’s nice to just leave them on the bike and not have to worry about them and turn off with

The key obviously there is no noticeable draw extra draw on the battery from looking at my voltmeter when I’m running the front and rear heated grip so so you can still run you know the the front set of heated grips at the same time which are also Oxford

On this bike um and not have any noticeable power drain um so yeah that’s uh my conclusion on these hot goup wraps good for billions and our high setting and um ideally connected to a switch live
