[Applause] Hello welcome to the show I’m David Dickinson and this is the real deal there’s a big smile on people’s face P you know what that means we’re going to have a lot of fun Today how much do you think my smile’s worth bluntly not a lot that’s a kick where I don’t want it are we going to see something fantastic come through the door of course we are I picked it up for a couple of quid from car boot 300 they come back and

20 3 2 one a real deal it you who brought I believe something rather special amazing you’re looking quite stunned actually maybe I’ll go on holiday with my husband today the show is coming to you from Wakefield there’s been a queue outside the door for hours

And hours what are you here for the real deal let’s get it On the doors are open our dealers and sellers are ready and they’re off Karen Del menu the front Runner and has the bit between her teeth well two bits actually couple of nice paintings horses love horses that will please Sylvia there’s a lot riding on this cuz I need

The money for a holiday I’m hoping to get about100 I love the paintings that you bought tell me a little bit about the history of them well actually they were left to me by a very good friend we put them in the frame cuz so much the house work in but I’ve moved

Into an apartment now so they don’t match what I’ve got I don’t know how old they are because must be 40 years ago since I got them well the clue is in the signature right e s England right who was operating sort of the end of the

19th century just in sort of the 20th century so if we say sort of 1895 1900 we’re not going to be that far away um he is a noted artist right English better be with a name like that hasn’t he and he’s quite famous for painting Farm yard animals um we’ve got

A very handsome chap in his red hunting coat and all his britches and boots and and the horse is looking very alert there he’s sort of looking out for the uh the hounds I think and this one’s actually jumping over a style in another Woodland scene um quite ainal the colors

Are lovely and I like the scene you’d be sorry to see him go well a little bit yeah any special plans for money still we yes it’s for a holiday fantastic with a group of ladies who are all in the Sim situation to me all lost their husband

Yeah but you have a fabulous time a good group lots of fun and laughter yeah definitely great all right so let’s get down to it have you got an idea of what you’d like for them vaguely okay 20 40 60 80 100 20 40 60 80 200

220 240 soia I think that’s not a bad bed any more um right 240 there’s another tener there so you’ve got an offer of 250 which I think is quite a fair offer um you’re more than welcome to take some advice I will yeah why well whil I’m here your

Wish is my command here he is well there’s £250 on the table yeah I’ve gone back to my picture Specialists they have them at a very low estimate of 80 to 120 I don’t agree with that I think they are wrong and at £250 I think it’s an honest fair and

Good offer I think they’re a commercial subject I think the 80s to for both pictures was a ridiculously low offer right o That’s slightly worrying um so if I were you i’ stick your hand out quick and take me money definely we got a deal thank you I was only expecting 100 how

Much1 no use closing the stable door after the horse has bolted Karen I’m going to Gallop off and have a good holiday I have some great customers that love those paintings and I’m hoping to get them away quite easily actually lot of money though bet you still make a

Profit everything’s ticking along nicely hi Alan I’m Mark hello and Allan’s brought a fine looking time piece for Mark Stevens great 18 karat watch do I want to buy it yes am I going to buy it yes get you it’s op Alan actually I bought the pocket watch for £500 from a

Friend today I’m looking for £800 I don’t need any tactics with Mark because I think the watch will sell itself like your style where did you get it from I got it from a friend of mine um about about 5 years ago Jeweler that was uh retiring so he was clearing his

His stock out and uh I saw the watch and I fell in love with it I thought that’s gorgeous well it it’s a very nice watch it’s a it’s all 18 karat gold I’ve had a look at the HMK and it’s a center Second Sweep The Sweep purely means the

Movement and you’ve got the mechanism on the side here if we wind this up it should be all working and the center hand moves around like it’s a sweeping movement okay this button should move and there you go stops it that’s it yeah and it just holds it in place what it

Does the watch still works but the center sweep holds it so when you carry it it doesn’t damage the mechanism it stops it there right yeah yeah the nice pocket watch is white porcelain dial uhhuh it’s quite a chunky watch just double check one thing we let’s take the

Back off and have a quick look at the Hallmark make sure it’s an English Hallmark rather than a continental one and it there it is made in Chester yeah yeah fully English Hallmark there this watch was made in the last quarter of the 19th century yeah I mean why do you

Want to sell it well to be quiet honest I never wear it I never use it it’s been in in a Cupboard and also it’s my wife’s big one coming up soon oh uh but I won’t mention the fact that she’s 60 cuz that wouldn’t go down very well no so we’re

    Looking to uh to have a holiday you know celebrate it in style it’s all about one thing money you know that don’t you that’s right we’re here 50 1 150 2 250 3 350 4 450 5 550 6 650 7 700 mhm I think you can do a bit better than that

I’m going to call this show a bit better little bit [Laughter] more Um it is 18 Kat it is Alan absolutely spot on and it’s a clean example there’s nothing wrong with it yeah spot on is the is the watch is so it is £750 MHM put another 50 on I can’t do another 50 on I’ve got to earn a little profit

I’m never greedy all I want is a small profit I don’t ask for a lot you know I think 750 is kind of fair price is a fair price I do really what do you think Alan yeah I think that’s a fair price you happy that I’m happy with that can I

Just ask how much did you pay for it I paid £500 for it Well Done Alan I love it when a man makes a profit thank you thank you Hickory Dickory Dock yes you’ve guessed it Mark Stevens bagged the clock I’ve bought the watch you know that

Doesn’t rhyme don’t you I’m happy with the £750 that will buy my wife for a smashing holiday so yeah I’m well pleased loads of money coming up it’s full steam ahead for Tracy well I’m going to get some money out you like money don’t you yeah we all like money really choo choo

And Al ‘s art lesson goes pearshaped when you see that what would you say you saw with that I see a big pair of [Laughter] [Applause] breasts welcome back to Dickinson’s real deal from Wakefield in West Yorkshire across the den Alison Chapman’s intrigued you just wait to see what I’ve got to look at next I think this artist might actually understand how my mind works very insightful good thing Luke’s got his head screwed on I’ve brought in

Some oil pictures there 49 in total uh I’m looking at minimum1 from I’m going to use my charm and my biggest smile to try and get the best deal out of Bison today you’re going to have to tell me an awful lot about them right I saved them

From hitting a skip so that’s what I do I crass myself as a professional skip Dipper skip picker skip Dipper oh a skip Dipper yeah I make money out of people’s rubbish yeah I’ve done that all my life darling all my life so I’ve tried doing

A bit of research on this Joseph chimon I think he’s South African I don’t know if he is still alive or not I found out they’re roughly 1970s 1980s pieces of work and that’s it well he obviously liked working in um pastels and some of them are oil pastels yeah that’s right

And they’re interesting aren’t they yeah they are they’re complicated yep some are very disturbing yes so when you see that what would you say you saw with that I would say I see a child with a balloon couple of eagles above crocodile it’s a bit it’s a bit random

To be honest it’s interesting cuz I saw a mother and a father missing a child signified by the bloom and then I saw evil people running down the hill to get them right and this these look like lost Spirits the Lost Souls of humanity okay they are very I mean this

When I first saw that it reminded me of a Russian doll right what do you see when you see it I see a big pair of breasts I can’t do that one never forget that one right yeah That’s so funny I shall never ever forget that one thank you okay we’re not going to do that one so yes so um so we’ve managed to understand that to you and to me these paintings convey very different meanings yeah I find them interesting they’re colorful they’re psychedelic

But with 49 pictures I don’t know I really don’t know I have actually done a little bit of research on the internet I’ve seen a few different figures around about 20 to30 per piece I’ve seen other bits of workers hit the 165 Mark to be

Honest I do think that there is a few in this pile where I think a really special well I’m a going girl and I’m prepared to have a go y so 50 yep so that’ be1 and a bit per picture mhm 100 mhm 22 and a bit per picture

Yes I do like the look at m50s 150 right I do believe they’re worth a lot more than £50 okay how much do you think they’re worth how much do you think my smile’s worth well at this table bluntly not a lot that’s a kick that’s a kick where I

Don’t want it I forgot to say k 54 you’re 25 what do you want me to say right it’s going to have to be auction okay and before I let you go you just need to knowe you do have a very nice smile thank you very much so do you

All the best Luke cheers I did say I was going to use my big smile and charm today but it didn’t actually work unfortunately so better next time and off to the auction it takes this bird a little bit more than a smile to part with my cash best of

Luck Luke’s turned down 50 more than he wanted does auction near joh John Morgan think he should have grabbed Allison’s money prudent person would have taken it a gambler I think would have said no this is a very specul lot Joseph chimon 20th century and that’s as much as we

Can find out about this man luk he can’t make it to the sail room I’m looking after his interest he described himself as a as a bit of a skip specialist which means he goes around scouring looking in skips and if there’s something in the skip that he thinks is

Worth having you ask permission if he can take it he thinks he knows something about the items that he collects and maybe he does but the question I’m asking you is has he made the right decision a collection of the work by Joseph chimon a 20th century vibrant and

Decorative artist is the best words I can come up with there’s 49 of them Odd Lot this speculative you never know here we go at 90 95 100 looking for 110 I have 110 120 120 on the internet 130 140 15 160 here we go again

Davidar and 10 at 200 to 10 I didn’t rate this a lot at £210 it sure go now internet if you wish to have it go at £210 on the phone they’re back 220 230 230 telephone biders two of them against 220 230 £230 on the phone are we there

Make no mistake I sell at £230 230 quid I have to tell you hand on heart I thought 150 quid was plenty of money for those I didn’t think they’ do better but they have take away the commission leaves £88 something that came out of a skip I think I need to go looking in skips on

The day the real deal £230 £188 I’m sending that off to you today Luke keep looking in the skips keep coming back to Dickinson’s Real Deal keep surprising us that that’s the real deal a great result for Luke but if you want to dip into people’s skips make

Sure you have the permission first Now two Hornby train sets are pulled into Tracy thra howt station Colin and Andrea have already taken their seats and guess where these came from bought them from car I paid £1 1220 for them that’s where you get all your junk from hopefully I’ll get £180 for them I have

To say it’s a bit different for me but I think they’re really cool and I’d like to buy them what we’ve got here is two box set Hornby trains and they’re made by Mao Mao was founded by Frank hbe in and he was from Liverpool he was a Clark and

He came up with the idea in about 1901 but they actually only started producing Mao in about about 1908 so it’s been going a long time these ones I think date probably around 1950s have you actually got them out of the boxes and had to play with them no

Never not being tempted no what we’ve got here is the train so we’ve got on the back we’ve got the harbe and then we’ve got the M made in England Mao Mark and then this section under here that’s where you wind it up it’s quite heavy is

It and they are made of tin everything’s quite solid about them you could you can seriously use these and not worry about damaging them I have to say the condition is superb you know the the boxes are in lovely condition the trains the carriages the tracks so how long

Have you had them a few week few weeks last weekend was it last weekend so did you buy them to sell yeah bought them from a cbol in Lincolnshire did you yeah okay right well I’m G to get some money out and see what we can do okay okay you

Like money don’t you yeah think we all like money really yeah i’ rather have the money than the junk right so here we go we’re going to go 20 40 60 80 100 120 140 you can do a bit better than that can I do it a little bit better yeah is that

Just for the one of them no that’s for both right we’ve got two windup sets here complete with engines with Rolling Stock and with track yeah I’ve got a 150 to 200 and I’ve got a less enthusiastic 1 to 150 140 I think is a low buy at that

Price that’s 70 a piece I’m going to say not enough Steam on the tracks we want to see more money I think got to be worth £80 90 a piece yeah well I’m going to put a bit more money on the table I’m not going to give

You much more but I do see him as a bit more to be truthful 160 and 180 and that’s that’s where I see it 180 for the not just one more of those no no no no no that’s where I see it yeah I think we’ll have a deal at

That yeah yeah how much did you pay for them £1 1220 for the both of them oh so you’ve done quite well then aen a few 60 quid then aren’t you oh brilliant that’s great thank you thank you for bringing them in we’re happy we W 183 it’s a profit

We’ll take them money and reinvest it at the Cabo again so we’ll get some more junk Cho I got the train sets and I have to say I will be getting them out and having a little play with them after the break Mark has to Hitch

Hike still think it will go a bit further unfortunately there’s no petol in the car and I’ve got to get home I’ll give you a lift as far as wool and the sellers at Karen’s table could get completely stranded what would you do with the money bfo a it bus Fair

Home that’s what all that is that you speak [Applause] is oh there you are welcome back to the show welcome back to the real deal across the den marks dug something up and he’s sure things will pan out nicely gold I love gold it’s easily sailable and there’s always a profit in

It and guess what I’m buying it you’re never lacking in confidence Mark Ian tell us what you want I’m looking for approximately 380 but I’m going to push Mark as hard as I can to get as much as I can cuz I need the money for my daughter st’s 21st birth

Year what can you tell me about it it’s from me father’s estate um basically just been sitting in a drawer to my daughter’s 21st birthday short and it would be nice to give her a present from our Le grandparents good idea sitting there doing nothing yeah I’ve had a

Quick look through and everything we kind of see there is relatively modern apart from The Ring which is little diamonds and Sapphire this ring I think is probably late 50s early 60s would that tie in yes yeah that’s what I thought I mean just double check the Hallmark yeah that’s right absolutely spot

On the bracelets we got here this particular bracelet it’s what we call a patterned link elbow an Elbert chain was a gentleman’s Watch chain that he hung his pocket watch from all right so they realized why don’t we manufacture modern ones as a bracelet right so that’s what

They’ve done and this is a modern manufactured bracelet with this one here this is called a roller ball bracelet can you see yes so that moves we call it the roller ball gold cross 14 karat gold which is predominantly a US Gold having said that it does get used in Europe sometimes

Everything else we see there all these little hoop earrings and the gold locket and chain is N9 karat gold manufactured within the last 2025 years being brutally honest to you what what you see here is going to be based on Purely the gold content price yes okay so I’ve weighed it I’ve

Got the weights all we got to do now is work out the price which I’ve just done how about that that’s excellent right some money on the table please here we go 50 1 150 2 250 three £350 in still think it will go a bit further unfortunately there’s no Petrol in the

Car and I’ve got to get home I’ll give you a lift as far as W 370 £380 in don’t look no more that’s going straight away now and you know that’s a fair price it is a fair price I must admit yes I’m happy with that I’ll have

A deal 380 we got have a deal thank you it’s been a pleasure thank you very much thank you I got exactly what I wanted to I deal for me daughter’s 21st birthday so it’s been a great day gold is gold and it’s gold and guess what it’s gone not

So fast we’ll check up on you later our Karen has an announcement drum roll please and now we have a ble the proud owners are Rob and Dave and no prizes for guessing where they got it I picked it up for a couple of quid from car boot has everyone in

Wakefield been snapping up Bargains from skips and car boots and our bugle boys reckon they can haggle with tough cookies in Yorkshire Karen’s got a work cut out to B how much do you think we’ll get for like about £80 good luck Lads I’m going to make you

Two work really hard you tell me why I should buy this item cuz it’s from Yorkshire and it’s all to do with cycling though oh it’s a cycling one oh now it’s starting to get interesting when they first started doing cycles and stuff around B it’s to promote that tell

Me about the inscription on it should we have a little read yeah it’s hard to see it right the bicycle bugle we’ve got the warranted manufacturers warrant there and then we got Henry Kon um of sto Newton London and there’s a there’s a local connection here isn’t there it was presented

To Darfield Cycling Club in 1886 okay so that makes it slightly more interesting that it’s got um some sort of cycling connections so how did it come to be in your possession well I I like winter cow bols and you know I seen it and I bought it for a couple of quid

Yeah I thought I’m having it I was going to wait in but thought it’s worth a bit more than that yeah so we’ we’ve got a little sort of Base metal I mean it’s it’s a brass instument isn’t it um traces of plate but it’s long long I mean it’s so

What 30 140 years old quite an age isn’t it yeah so what do you think it was originally used for if it was presented to a Cycling Club uh probably for starting races we don’t know could be couldn’t It Go on Dave give me a demo you got the lungs for it

Yeah well we know it works so if you got one or two pennies off me today can’t promise much more than that what would you do with the money you’d be back down the booty wouldn’t you bfo Ain it must fa home that’s what all that is is that y should

Speak um so why have you bought it along today just to sell it and cuz it’s just stuck in a Cupboard yeah all right so let’s get down to and this is my one and only Bard and I’m I’m so sorry but you haven’t excited me enough to put anymore

There you go that’s terrible that it is terrible isn’t it yeah very yeah but that’s a cutle of beers isn’t it no no nowhere near no okay not even buy a box of teabags no are you in profit well it might be but you you are

You told me you gave two quiid for it come on David it’s a bit of you this got you written all over it well it might have been when I was in the Boy Scouts look Karen one of our Specialists got quite excited about this and we have

A bloke running around here with a hat on you know he likes this kind of t 50 to 70 80 to 120 now this is what our experts say well that that’s told me isn’t it well it doesn’t really Carol says 10 the dukee says maybe nine no insult to the gentleman they’ve

Paid what seems to be the right money Karen has offered 10 I presume you’ve got to turn that down what will it bring at auction dib dib I have no idea you going to get it try you so what are you going to do take it to auction

Yeah well guys I’m so sorry I’ve mean I’m so sorry I’ve been such a disappointment to you no problem but we we are still friends are we okay no problem good luck Karen gave us no choice but to go to auction we very poor1 the offer was

Terrible it weren’t even bus for own sorry Robin Dave But will Karen be sorry she let it go to auction I thought bit of all t What can we say what’s it going to fetch three 2 1 and a stunning bro surprises everyone you have brought along I believe something rather special amazing especially Patricia you’re looking quite

Stunned actually I thought it might be worth about100 you know you’re looking absolutely sales shock there I am [Applause] Welcome back to Dickinson’s real deal it’s the day of the auction and the sail rooms filling up how will Dave and Rob’s bugle do they only paid 22 for it to a car Boot and turned down Karen’s tener what has Auctioneer John Morgan got to say about

It a cycling bugle often used at the end of the 19th century like a huntsman’s bugle to keep all the cyclist together as a pack who was in the front who was in the back stop start Left Right Etc it’s a very obscure item so how much is

It worth it’s not going to be hard to beat the off of a £1 is it really we’re hoping to get as much as we can have a good night out I saw this come through the door I thought bit of old tat I genuinely thought a bit of old t apparently this

Is a very rare item so it’s Victorian it was presented to the field Cycling Club there’s been quite a lot of interest what did you think it was worth uh 20 quid 30 quid whatever we can get for it really okay how’s it going to do today I

Don’t know it’s coming up now we’re getting into gear we’re ready to go what’s it going to fetch a 19th century bicycle bugle great deal of interest in this very unusual item dated 1886 and we open up at 250 260 27 70 looking for 280 to go

On commissions hold 290 do you wish to bid again Internet please do so now at £290 on commission last chance please at £290 anybody in there at300 they come back 300 on the internet commission sold 320 at £320 on commission Last Chance three 2 1 sold 320 commission thank you

A rail deal good job I didn’t waiting so you see you just never know do you it was bought at a car boot sale for two quid and one of the shrewdest judges in the business Karen said I’m going to give you a ten for it Karen you’ve caught yourself out here girl

Like the rest of us we all thought it was rubbish turns out to be a rare cycling item from the 19th century £320 take away the commission leaves 262 Rob now come on tell the truth it must have blown you away blown us all away cuz we didn’t we didn’t

Realize I mean blond is all the way this I certainly didn’t realize so you live and learn on the day taking home 262 that’s a lot of bus fair for the way home that’s the real deal 260 quid profit that just amazing we can afford a Lim home

Now well done Lads you made a really good off it much better than what I offered You things often come into the den that take our breath away and today is no exception a Japanese beauty is firing up Mark’s table but owner Patricia has no idea how special it is I’ve brought a brooch that belonged to my mom and it hasn’t really got any sentimental value

So I’d like to sell it well you brought it to the right man hasn’t you mark a magn magificent brooch Japanese gold Ivory do I want to buy it you bet I want to buy it what history can you tell me about it uh well it uh belonged to my mom I never

Saw a wear it I just found it in her belongings when she died 5 years ago I don’t know where she got it from probably bought it sometime okay well it’s a brooch which has been made up we have here if we lift the broch up so we got the IR every part

Here it has been placed into a gold Mount but because it’s pre 1947 it’s covered under sighty so it’s fine to sell it we don’t need to get a certificate with it you know it’s fine for us to sell um it’s Japanese turn of the century 1900 1910

Amazing I had no idea I had no idea and this work is called shakudo a lot of these things were made by people that would have made made the samurai swords and the dress they would wear but when they stopped making them they needed to do something else so a

Lot of the work they did was shakudo work and it carried on into jewelry and the quality of the workmanship is fantastic I mean if we look here this is a volcano and there’s the dragon yes going around the base of the volcano the dragon is in Gold the foliage around the

Outside of it is in bronze and the volcano is in silver but if we look this is also signed but unfortunately I can’t read Japanese but on the back just here can you see the little panel yes I knew that was there from the knowledge that I have the best work Masters use

The gold panels then it’s the silver and then it’s just basically inscribed onto the bronze plaque so this is very good quality it’s been made well it’s a nice thing um I don’t know what carrot the gold is is it’s not hallmart but it’s definitely gold there’s no doubt I can

Tell that amazing it’s you’re looking quite stunned actually I am actually because I didn’t I thought it might be worth about100 you know I just I’ll bring it today it’s worth more than 100 I can assure you I mean but it’s a lovely brooch why do you want to sell it

Well I have other brooches that my grandma before that left me and I don’t wear those really because don’t wear them well I did until the grandchildren were born and the big always got very large pins on them which stick out so I took them off my clothes and I’ve never

Put them back no I I can understand that I mean if you sell it what are you going to plan to do with the money well I’m a bit shocked that it you’re looking absolutely s shocked there I am do you want a glass of water

Yes right well I tell what I do I’m going to put some money on the table and then we can take it from there okay okay 50 100 15 50 200 250 300 350 400 don’t say anything because I have a funny feeling we got someone coming

Around we’re going to have somebody come in and give you some advice right well you have brought along I believe something rather special it’s a bit of magy metal work here but it’s Exquisite fabulous metal work by a great Craftsman I’ve got a 4600 estima but in my opinion knowing

What Japanese metal wear brings I’m using that broadly I think there’s something special here and it might ellipse the £600 easily on a date I can’t guarantee that but you’ve got something really special and this Marketplace is still on fire in the sa room thank you

I can’t believe that Mark’s put so much money down and David thinks it’s worth even more David is pushing me all the way and a bit further I think he wants this Broach to go to the auction it’s up to you to stop him Mark now what is it worth they’re saying

4600b David really likes it you know I got to think to myself what what want to pay for it what I’m going to do is 400 450 5550 600 that tells you exactly what he thinks it’s still cheap at that money that’s why he’s throwing the money in

Now fast what does that tell you 650 okay I still think it’s worth going to auction with so I get some more out yeah get some more out this man is a shrewd clever dealer he recognizes with that Japanese mark on it we are talking in

Something which might be w we and you want to find out if it’s w we not sell it and go oh did I do the right thing we going to do David because I understand exactly what you’re saying yeah and I do there that’s my bid and I won’t go no
