In this episode Martha and I leave Basel heading South through Switzerland. We come across amazing buildings, scenic climbs, and a wonderful wild camping spot.
After a night in basle we’re ready for our first full day in Switzerland big thanks to Sandra and Tillman for hosting us they were lovely and it was very exciting and nice to get to talk to them because they’re off on their own year long journey through Europe and Asia so
I hope everything’s going well for Them too Much Pigeons you go up see come Down We off to the coffee that looks like the train station just zoom in coming out of the Dragon sea line Dragon monster very cool architecture and Vessel our first tunnel in Bassel so they have pretty good system here we’re on the route 23 to the 71 to the eight straight yeah Then it tells you where you’re going how far everything’s numbered and they have an entire website for every numbered Trail it’s cool that’s what city should be like so cool very cool City my favorite City so far yeah this something Goinging look at that orgon up there there bananas old it is yeah you can tell right and been in this thing the rigs loaded up Mar’s rig my rig oh yeah here’s the next cool building look at this house on the left the roof what a cool
Place little side road side of the road road side roadside uh bike mechanic going on here not a very good mechanic though but the best one in the radius of here here so but we were heading up to this really cool looking building and we think I
Don’t know this is my assumption by looking at the signs that all the buildings around here are by the same architect cuz it was I saw some signs so so far assumption until then we’re here getting the Der and Alignment I think or something so close okay look at that thing World Conference All right we’re off to 23 on to the 71 I think we have some cool single Lane through the fields and some good climbing coming probably our first real test of climbing all right our first Switchback climb there goes M crushing the hill He Yeah so we leave the little town and we’re headed up again let show the reality S wow is this Switzerland or is this Switzerland all right hores at church oh there’s one castle that’s those are the ruins that I told you about like oh there’s some other ruins in the country there got some like really cool ruins and then [Applause] some Beauty it’s just going to stay at those Ones this is very uning oh there you can see the targets so they’re shooting into the hill oh yeah Okay as we rolled into the Jura mountains it became apparent very quickly that we would be going up in a hurry while they’re not the Alps there’s definitely some steep grades here we thought we would make it much further on this day but luckily we decided to call it early
And came across a beautiful wild camping spot with an excellent Sunset we came across a beautiful sunset it was one of our favorite days of the entire Trip so it’s going to be way too steep to ride we’re actually not far from the top you can see the light up there yeah so I think we’re going to get off our bikes in a bit and have a little walk together and a scap in the trees which is cool I
Think we’re going to walk down we’re going to be a way down somewhere there even look acrosso it’s almost giving me bird go we think we found our campsite so I’m going to Dirt Road looks pretty good and that’ll be the view what where are we okay we’re hiking to the Porta
Flu uh which isn’t very far it’s just I think up there up a little bit Turn this is our wild Camp the night road but there’s one right up there pave roads I many will come down here my bike marth’s bike tent’s going to go right in the middle that’s the new table we bought and the sunset the moon the sunet the tent
