I’m heading east now, fully locked into the new route. The landscape is changing already as I leave the mountains behind me and gradually move into flatter country as I approach the Swedish border

I woke up to rain this morning so I had a very very long and really leisurely breakfast two cups of coffee I wait for it to ease off and now I’m on the move again trundling down this very nice little dirt road through the pine trees

Past some of the most amazing like and I’ve seen so far I’m a big fan of lichen and it’s rather nice this is the first bit of pedaling on the new and improved route so I wish you’ll see how it all goes Well that was a very nice way to start a day a little cruise on some proper dirt through a nice quiet little forest now I’m back on tarmac again it’s good nice and smooth road seems fairly quiet and it’s a general downhill trend so that’s not too bad although it has started

Raining again I think I’m following this for quite away till I hit the next town where I’ll find a shop buy some more fruit some more nuts any needed nutritionists watching this can you eat too many nuts because I am blasting them I’m almost disgusting myself the amount

Of peanuts and cashews on getting through these it’s not natural it can’t be natural [Applause] [Applause] well now go deeply unpleasant for a moment man I did a few miles and then the wind picked up it’s one round in my face the rain set in like absolute beast it all got rather horrible I sought shelter in a little panicked cafe tourist information you give the

Shopping place on the side of the road so I’ve been there for her and a half I think drinking coffee and swapping stories with French chap with more recycling to the Fertile seem to be where everyone’s cycling in this country exactly that was that’s your right warm and dry and that

Was coffee polska conversation but now the rains eased up and is apparently gonna stop completely in the next hour so I’m on woods once again on again another I don’t know 40 kilometers tops today find a shot we had Despite the rain encouraging a very late start and a very long lunch that’s you’ve been a very nice ride the middle chunk is all tarmac but it was very smooth and pretty quiet tarmac and I started and ended on this lovely gravel forestry trail so I’ve managed to do

About 57 kilometers which is it’s not a great distance but I can see a difference in the landscape already just heading east that far the high ground in the distance is very much Hills now rather than mountains and I don’t know if it’s the geography all the time of

Year but it’s a lot more buggy as well not the big leggy mosquitoes that you can have all go up this is those little invisible ninja midges like they have in Scotland the ones that just get all over you and in your hair like your nose when

Your ears make you want to feel your own skin off just to escape but I shall try and restrain myself from any recreational self playing and when I find a place pick up for the day

  1. I think they made test in Finland concidering bears. They chose very bear dense area and made 100 test walks in that area. Not a single bear sighting if I recall correctly. They seem to just get out of the way.
