A man has been arrested by police in connection with a fire that gutted a multistorey car park at Luton airport and destroyed about 1,500 vehicles.

About 30,000 passengers were affected when more than 200 flights were suspended on October 10 because of the fire. Six firefighters and a member of the public were treated in hospital for smoke inhalation.

    1. It is about time that lie detectors are used in all of these type of cases; they may not be 100% accurate, but what is; it is science isn’t it? Didn’t they tell us that face nappies helped stop the spread of covid, or the vaccines stopped you from catching it, well not 100% , but helped; we’ll perhaps lie detectors would help to verify what is really going on; but they don’t want that. We should demand it; mandatory lie detector tests for all politicians, chief constables and public enquiries.

    2. The police have to be seen to be doing their jobs, and you can't arrest a car! Besides which, the public's being encouraged to swallow the line that 'someone committed a crime' (of parking their car in a car park?) is preferable to reporting the reality of an electric car spontaneously combusting, which they do, and for which there is already video evidence, including in this instance.

    3. So misleading if he got arrested for criminal damage thats nothing to do with arson lighting fires etc he most probably has been arrested for criminal damage because his ELECTRIC CAR BATTERY lit the place up and it was seen on camera ergo manufacturers fault

    4. 5. Lolo … arrested for having a fault in your car… what next …arrested for eating food you bought at a restaurant that made people sick… whatever you do, don’t investigate the car manufacturer just the poor bloke that bought the car 😂😂😂

    6. What is rather strange about this fire is, it is at an airport, where are all the fuel fire trucks? They could have sprayed the entire area in foam killing the flames before it engulfed the entire car park. I'd be suing Luton Airport management for mismanagement of that fire and what happened to the car park fire management?

    7. Well I was in a car park in Birmingham yesterday which had a comprehensive SPRINKLER system. I can reasonably guess that this car park did not have such.

    8. That's a big fat lie. No diesel car can cause such a disaster abd we know how often and how many electric cars have suddenly burst into flames and are very very difficult to put out.
But of course the industry wants us to believe electric cars are the answer. NET Zero rubbish
