The junction of Saxby Street and London Road in Leicester, UK…..The driver has taken and completed a driver education course as an alternative to prosecution. Judging by the driver behaviour before they cut across my path, and the fact that they could clearly see me, I believe this was deliberate.

Rule H3 of the Highway Code:
You should not cut across cyclists, horse riders or horse drawn vehicles going ahead when you are turning into or out of a junction or changing direction or lane, just as you would not turn across the path of another motor vehicle.

Even though this is a ‘should’ rather than a ‘must’ rule, people on bicycles are still incredibly vulnerable compared to people in cars who are protected by 2 two tonnes on metal.
