To some manufacturers having their bikes or equipment being ridden in the world tour by the best riders out there is the ultimate sign that they’ve made it. Not to mention it is undoubtedly a huge marketing opportunity. Okay, that probably the bigger draw. However, no amount of wins

Or success is a guarantee that it it’ll last forever. World tour teams don’t choose their bike suppliers on sentiment after all, and that means that even some of the biggest and most storied racing marks can be left high and dry when it comes to visibility in the pro peloton.

Sometimes it’s got nothing to do with how good their bikes are. Supporting a protein is expensive. Some smaller brands just can’t afford it or maybe even want to. So taking that all into account, here are some of the best road bikes and brands that for whatever reason aren’t in the world.

Tour in 2024. 2024 has seen some huge shakeups in the world tour Perton and none bigger than a G two R ditching long-term partner BMC for van reel after 32 wins and 106 podiums on the Swiss brand’s bike. That’s despite BMC releasing this very attractive team machine art which was developed in

Conjunction with Red Bull. Okay, no team is gonna keep going with a bike ran just ’cause the bike looks nice. Probably BMC does, however sponsor the up and coming pro team Tudor Pro cycling and they’ve managed to bag themselves a wild card entry into the Giro Talia.

So we might see BMC on the top step yet 2024 also sees the end of one of the longest team bike partnerships in the world of pro cycling FDJ and LaPierre. A story that started some 22 years ago, the likes of Bradley Wiggins Tebo Pinot

And Philip Bert racked up some 300 wins on Lapeer bikes, but the next generation of FDJ riders will be trying to write their names into the history books aboard of Villa Bikes. It is worth noting that you will still find LaPierre bikes under the women’s team F Fi Suez.

To be fair, on the looks front is one brand known for making lovely looking bikes being replaced by another with the same reputation. So maybe aesthetics do come into it sometimes. Another brand that will be conspicuous in their absence in 2024 is Ridley. As the oldest pro cycling team, lotto Destiny switches

To our Bayers for the 2024 season. Riders such as Caleb Yin, Arno DeLee and Thomas Degen have ensured that over the last few years, bikes such as the Ridley Noah Helium and more recently the Falcon Rs have often been first over the finish line, no matter the terrain since it’s split

With Astana at the end of 2018, argon 18 is another brand that doesn’t feature in the World Tour. At the time, argon said that it wanted to diversify its sponsorship contracts with a focus on track and triathlon. However, if it had remained as a sponsor to a world tour team,

Then we could have had the world’s best riding bikes such as this sum. Before we take a look at some absolutely classic bike brands that are no longer in the pro Peloton, make sure you’re subscribed to the channel to stay up to date with all things cycling, our honest reviews

Of the latest tech and let us know down in the comment section which bike you think most deserves a spot in the Peloton. In 2024, the World tour is once again devoid of some historic brands which were once absolute powerhouses of the sport. Pergio, Concord, gazelle

And Coffee are no longer in the bike business. Bat gland never progressed from steel and Mo’s latest offering is an e-bike, so it won’t be being used in a grand tour anytime soon. Some brands which still hold records in the all time wins list still make excellent racing bikes though.

For example, Eddie Merck’s bikes were a staple of the Peloton throughout the 1990s and two thousands, but it’s unlikely you’ll find the latest 5 2 5 adding any grand tour stage wins this year at least. Other brands with similarly enviable heritage are DeRosa and time, the latter

Of which does feature in the world top Peloton, but only in the form of pedals. Most of time success came in the classics under a certain Tom Boon, but in recent years, despite making some very light frames, they haven’t been represented on the world’s biggest stage.

DeRosa meanwhile does have more recent representation Up until the end of 2021 Coffee dis has now switched to look bike though, which means that the carbon machines such as the 70 and the Marrack will have to wait before potentially getting a chance to add to the brand’s plethora

Of stage wins whilst the whole wiggle chain reaction saga drags on. We couldn’t help but include Vitas in our lineup. It is after all the brand that produced the favorite bike retested in 2023. You can check out the full countdown. Using the car above Vitas makes some tremendously good value

Bikes and in many ways you could compare them to Van Reel. If the brand didn’t have so much uncertainty ahead of it, then we’d definitely like to see their bikes in the world tour. But this is potentially one headache. Too many in this current climate felt has seen its fair

Share of reshuffling and economic hardship in recent years. But put that to one side and it makes some bites that we don’t think we’d look out of place in the world. Tour felt has sponsored plenty of Continental teams in the past and up until recently, the Women’s World Tour team, human powered health.

How good would this naked Carbon weave look in the Pro Peloton focus is a brand that knows what it takes to supply the world’s best and Last did so in 2016 for the Ag two R team. If focus were to sponsor a world tour team again,

Then it would undoubtedly be with the Ako Max. The brand’s all rounder race bike that claims to be the true essence of pace. Bel Han Shandling and AO are three British brands that have yet to make the jump up to World tour,

But are three brands that have their foot in the door when it comes to racing, having sponsored British teams and in the case of Ribble and Shandling, the Women’s Pro Coni teams life plus Wahoo and das Sling respectively. We’ve recently ridden the Ventura, the A one R zero

And the Endurance essa and have been very impressed. Do you think one of these three could be the next bike brand featuring a grand tour? Perhaps a more likely bike to be seen at? The Jro in particular is the Basso d Monte Baso sponsors multiple second division and women’s teams

And seems like a brand on the Up. Would you like to see another Italian manufacturer back in the Peloton? Our final pick is Chanel a brand with so much history, we could make an entire another video on it. Chanel famously designed the super aerodynamic, our record beating bike

And 28 gold medals between Olympic games and World Championships have been won on Chanel’s. Let us know which of these bikes is your favorite in the comment section below, as well as any bike do you think deserve the chance to win the world’s biggest races. If you like this kind of content,

  1. Been riding Condor bikes out of London for years now. Loved it when JTR Condor were a decent team in Britain on those amazing steel frames. My Condor Fretello is my best bike, but I ride in shorter audax 200 to 500km. Steel seems to soak up the road vibrations more effective. I did try a carbon, 15 to 25 hours rides did not work out well

  2. "Battaglin never moved on from steel". Incorrect, they went back to be a bespoke steel hand builder of incredible standard, but they did have a carbon period – see the "battaglin compact" for example.

  3. Surprised and delighted at the mention of Coppi bikes – I own a neo retro lugged Columbus Thron model and a vintage fillet brazed Columbus genius model. Designed by Giovanni Pelizzoli of Ciocc who coincidentally made the also mentioned Concorde bikes too 👌🏼

  4. But has anyone thought about the fact that brands that are not The World Tour.. still sell their bikes for thousands of dollars too expensive.. even though there is no achievement on which to base the high price??

  5. I would like to see former GDR brand Diamant building road bikes again, like the Diamant 35 715 "Rubin". Nowadays, Diamant is part of the TREK company, so there would be a solid platform to build road bikes again.
