Entertaining football from Bristol City at the moment yeah really been enjoying it it’s been it was a fabulous Friday Night Football um I thought they were excellent in lots and lots of departments um against a very good Nottingham Forest team who bristle City made made to look very ordinary um I
Thought we passed the ball well defended well but it’s that clinical quality at the really important end of the pitch that is still lacking um but you know that you can see the the shape the patterns and it’s all coming together I’m really excited about the future and
I’m I’m enjoying watching the football you talked about that um you know the The crucial Red Zone three goals in seven games I mean uh I think it was three of those games were were against Premier League opposition of course but not quite enough is it we need more
Goals yeah but we you know we’re looking more and more dangerous there’s there’s no doubt about that but you know we probably need a a goal score is going to give us 25 goals we may need you know a little bit more intricate movement around the box I mean I’m sure leam
Manning is working really hard in training at that end of the pitch whilst at the moment at the defensive end there’s Four Lads who have gained a load of experience playing alongside each other they’ve got a great understanding of each other’s games um and and they’re
Working really well as a unit and in Midfield with passing the ball the possessions good it it it looks really dangerous so we just need to just you know find that clinical Edge which will take us where we want to go talking about um transferring that form from from Cup
Games to league as a former player yourself it do you see them differently does it feel different playing Cup games to League games oh absolutely it’s really exciting I mean the fans feel it if you’re if if you’re an Englishman you know there is the there’s something

The season if you like the second half of the year um how how can City sort of progress do you think well look the the the championship is so tight obviously my son’s at H um what I’d love to see is uh leester going up holling second and
Bristol City in the playoffs uh in all honesty um you know I’ve worked in in around the Premier League for a very very long time and it is it’s massive it is you you don’t realize just how big the Premier League when until you’re you’re in amongst and what it would mean
To these people in Bristol would be incredible we’ve always said well it’s a big Club but with having never been in the top division hasn’t experienced that and it’d be wonderful uh you know for this city to experience you know man united Liverpool’s going on a regular
Basis not just in the FA Cup so uh yeah anytime you in in in with an opportunity you know whether I mean c I think mid-table now but what three four points off a player position you want to get in those players cuz once you’re in those
Playoffs I think any it doesn’t matter anybody could win so get in the playoffs uh hold to go up automatically so I don’t have to endure that um yeah that would be a really good good end for the to the season for Bristol city um I mean
The the the squad that they’ve got here now and stuff like that is is is phenomenal really for a championship that the grounds unbelievable it’s a Premiership ground um but they just need that extra little push uh hopefully this FA Cup that uh that they’re run that
They’re on now uh hopefully will kick form into the league as well and I mean it only takes a few wins in the league and you’re right back up there so let’s hope that that that gives him a good kick yeah and goalie to goalie back so
He’s waited a long time uh to get his chance in the Bristol City shirt this season has been that time and he’s been given the number one how impressed have you been well he he seems very calm and collected which you need as a keeper now
Um you know back in the day and all that people weren’t confident with using the feet and and that but nowadays you you you’re brought up with it and he just seems very very um mature in himself um the lad seem confident in him uh he’s impressed me um so you know hopefully
Hopefully he can go a lot further and speaking I’m going to say as a as a fan always a Bristol City fan what are your hopes for for City for the rest of the year hopefully they can improve the league uh in the in the league obviously
An FA Cup run to be brilliant and it and it it gets the fans behind them and all that as long as they stay in the cup you know I think what it does it gives you that extra little percentage of in the league because people want to play in

Um now Ben sheath he has this innate ability Chris to be able to start and finish moves from Midfield there he is there talk us through how this works well he he plays very deep he’s probably the deepest Midfield player they have so he picks up a lot of the ball but once
He once he he joins in play he’s not afraid to get forward as you can see here nice bit of skill wraps his foot around it on the edge of the box and he puts it in the corner great finish you know that’s good bit of skill probably
Bann Bannon didn’t know he had it in his locker and he he beats him easily and kills the ball but again here he is on a a little bit of a run big strong lad really powerful running forward he plays a simple ball to his left but he doesn’t
Switch off he follows the ball into the box like all good defend uh midfielders do and when the ball comes loose he’s there on the six-yard box to finish it off and two goals in a in one game um at shefford Wednesday goes just goes to
Show he’s a danger man yeah we need to keep an eye on those runs don’t we yeah absolutely um and as you can see he’s a strong Runner he’s quick uh he’s a big lad um and it’s going to be very hard to put get him off the ball but they’re a
Really good side all round they play some really nice stuff they’ve got a D or a way of playing which was something that Liam Manning just touched on earlier um yeah they keep possession really well and we’re going to have to be really patient and once we get it
We’re going to have to do the same and part of that DNA is the ability to play in really small spaces uh which is really effective for them so if you take a look at this um this small spaces thing is is is quite intuitive for them
Isn’t it yeah you got you got D Silva there who’s who’s very good with the ball but you got six players six com players flooding into the box and when the ball comes to I think it’s ohare he gets his shot away although he’s crowded out but again you know
Something we touched on 10 minutes or so ago they’re not afraid to get bodies in the box and when the ball does come loose is a great finish found the bottom right hand corner um and a really good goal and they’re not they’re so confident on the ball Bristol City going
To have to go tight be strong win the tackles and make it as difficult as possible uh great insight as ever uh Chris thank you very much it’s almost like you used to be a footballer or something there’s a rumor going around for def um commentary on a on this
