In this episode, I take on Saalbach’s ‘Challenge,’ where in one day I ride over 5000m of descent through, Saalbach, Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn’s MTB trails. This is a great day out on the bike and I can’t recommend taking it on this summer enough, it’s a brilliant day out!

Today we’re taking on the challenge saubach’s multi-resort mountain bike route 96.6 kilometers with over 5 000 meters of vertical descent We’re starting the challenge here in saaback and the fresh lift that we’re going to go up is the shepherd Express Thank you We’ve come up the schantberg express and we’re at the top of the X line as you can see there’s no panoramic views today we’re in the clag we’re going to drop into this Trail it’s really fun is Floyd there’s some really nice turns a few little jumps let’s go here we go [Applause] foreign Trail Hello we’re going on shadberg’s printer this one’s going to take us all the way to hackerberg we’ve gone up the schantberg we’ve hit the top of Exxon gone up the shackberg Sprinter and now we’re on the famous hackleburg Trail this is a trail I think should be on every mountain bikers

Bucket list it is so fun it’s Floyd it’s got amazing turns a little bit of tech and some high-speed sections okay here we go foreign ER is just such a perfect Trail it’s got a little bit of everything anyone can ride it you’ve got jumps you’ve got

Berms you’ve got amazing views it just encapsulates what Austria is like it’s a country Thank you and now it is time for hackable trail 2. the hackelberg joins a bush egg Trail and takes us all the way to hinter gland a blue trail with berms flow and wooden features thank you Okay third lift of the day the twelver Google goes in here danker well isn’t this fancy the ackerberg trail is running so well there’s so many features on it that makes it just fun for every kind of Rider from beginner to prose we’re now headed up another Gambler and we’re

Going up to do the Zed line this has been refurbished for 2022 and I’m excited to see what it’s like what I love about riding in Austria is the fact that there’s all these Mountain Huts at the lift stations that serve amazing food so let’s go and sample some Austrian cuisine Next up was a zedline recently refurbished with some new and exciting features Thank you this is the latest feature on the Zed line I’m calling it a healthy scalter it’s a really cool van North Shore austrians are famous for Woodwork and this is a nice addition to the trail something that is unique and different the classic Shaw off the wall ride what

A view of hinter gland a few jumps to finish off the trail and we’re back in hinterclimb ready for the next Lane We’ve come up the next left the Richter coodle ban and it gives you a really good perspective of where we’ve already been you’ve got the hackleberg trail on that mountain side and the red line just over there the changes that they’ve made to the Zed line have it running really

Well it’s fast it’s flowy it’s loads of fun that new Helter Skelter is really cool and it all finishes off with some fun jumps and big berms we’ve come up to a point where we’ve got the option to choose from either the blue line or the

Pro Line we’re going to go for the Pro Line it’s got a lot more features there’s a big wall ride some doubles in there and some really fast turns mixed in with some technical sections The proline is one of my favorite trails in saalbach and into Glen and there’s one that will come in lap whenever I visit Foreign Thank you Arriving back into the town of hinter Glen we ride onto sound back a chance to refresh before taking the fourth lift of the day which would ultimately take us to the furthest away pouring Foreign And dropped into the Panorama Trail which I think you can quite easily understand where it gets its name from it is simply stunning with that backdrop now we’re headed to fiber Brawn to do some more downhill laps taking the Panorama Trail there and we’re just

Gonna have some fun on the way there and then check out this new bike park which I’ve never been to before thank you Okay to Fever Braun from the Panorama Trail we take the double track through some stunning and Luscious Countryside Foreign it was a really nice rolling descent through some beautiful Austrian scenery off the Panorama Trail Rivers forests big mountains and now we’re on the schwein asberg trail about to drop in it’s a blue Trail not running before but it looks like it’s got lots of berms and it’s just fun and flowy Thank you Thank you the trail at fever Barn was really fun had some berms jumps rollers and now from there we’ve cycled two Leo gang it was about an 18 kilometer ride took about an hour so bear that in mind if you are taking on the challenge and

We’re at the Epic bike park of Leo gang which is of course famous for hosting the World Cup Downhill I’ve raced that back in the day and we’re gonna check out one of the tracks Thank you Okay so this is a flow line Thank you That’s it we’ve finished the tour well almost we’ve done the very last lift that we need to take off and we’re at the top of the Leo gang Plateau about to head back to southbag to hit the Panorama Trail it’s been one Epic day truly really fun it’s been hard work I’m

Feeling pretty tired so let’s get back to South back and let’s I think this is a pretty beautiful bit of Trail so we’re going to film a little bit along it get some Aerials and just showcase how beautiful a location is to ride your bike Thank you We’re back on the Panorama Trail and this time it’s a top to bottom run There’s so many jumps berms and fast sections you can’t help but have a smile on your face whilst riding this Trail it’s particularly good at the sunset Thank you foreign Epic day on the bike it has been we start at 9am catching that first lift and finished at 4 30 catching the very last lift out of Leo gang and then traversing our way back across if you’re going to take this on for yourself then a couple of things that I’d recommend

One getting that first lift number two checking your bike over and make sure that it’s in good working order there are a number of bike shops on route but you don’t want to make any stops because you want to keep moving as much as possible and number three be prepared

For the weather to change we start out this morning in the clouds it was quite cold and at the end of the day it was absolutely scorching and a belter of a day if you’ve enjoyed this video give a thumb up like if you’ve got any questions about doing the challenge

    1. AMAZING! i go there often Skiing and don't recognise anything haha, what a difference without snow. If only all the Scottish Ski resorts invested more in MTBing, outwith the mediocre Ski seasons. 🤙🙏

    2. Saalbach and the other trail parks look amazing! would love to go there, gondolas up, panoramic views and miles of flow trail down – perfect! Thank you for sharing Scotty enjoyed watching really well made video 🙌😁

    3. Been going through your video's and you put out some very good content about all these amazing stunning locations.
Hope to complete the Big 5 challenge myself next year.
      Love your content!!

    4. The road from Saalbach's Panorama to Fieberbrunn is mostly a descent, right? Is this part fairly quick to complete? If starting from Saalbach, maybe I should start from this part, then Leogang etc and save the Saalbach valley part to the end, so that in case of not making it on time the consequences would be less expensive than getting stuck on Leogang 🙂 ?
      Anyway, amazing, thanks for sharing.

    5. From what I can see there are only open trails and almost like roads, because I didn't see anything from DH tracks through trees. I could be wrong but from what I've seen I have no opinion.
