What he can do he won in the 23 World Champs Aldridge so big so powerful there’s Alan harly alongside and the two canondale Factory racing Riders out front ahead of Jordan suu Sebastian finny Carson’s behind him yeah second place Corner up the inside of Carson then there’s tascal Mar blooms good
Start of him too chaos at the start as always but they’re all through there safely GE Bard taking to the tech go a little bit further down with the will put him right into third place great riding there from Schwarz B Jordan Su on Fourth Place Victor ketu
On Fifth from Aldridge really loose surface DUS good start of him also pit around 15th Place I think I saw him we know ped coock has got the skills to make us through way through a bunch but look at the speedum through here Pier extremely high Sam you can tell us how important
Is it to be in a good position uh I mean why are they sprinting so fast why is it that wild every really says the train for your whole race you know uh what you can actually if you can get yourself far to the to the front in the first couple
Minutes all those little micro levels that you have in the first 10 minutes that there’s a little bit more recovery you can have and so a lot of the time they invest a or try to invest as much as you can just to have that first 15
Minutes a little bit easier a little bit easier everything of course always relative forever these guys say that but this point in the course really really key because we’ve seen bottlenecks all day long into this little descent there’s Christopher blevens and that’s why the short track is so important the
First 24 of the short track these three first three rows of eight that’s the start positions for cross count race on Sunday Aldridge has gone off at the front of this one like a scolding cap behind him Alan hly let’s see the start again Watch ald just to the right of the
Start suu was very very strong start and this is the back of the field you see there’s more this there’s no vision bottlenecks for these everything went well Charlie Al what a start he had with the number three number 23 on his bike definitely had a great season for his first year in
The pros and I mean uh I know through Simon and his teammates and himself sort of the power that he pushes for his weight and he hits over 1900 Watts Max so he’s definitely a very very powerful gu you can turn on most SN with that ket’s alongside him at the minute though
At the front there’s nter behind L fer behind vdor as well so bit of work to do for shter but we saw last time in Le that unbelievable start shter can get through traffic when he needs to and Le of course when he had that flat tire as well in the beginning
Of the race but uh still finished second justify I think as impressive a performance as I’ve seen from Nino shter last time out in Le way dig and dig and dig yeah but it gave him the confidence again and still leading the overall standings and now he knows he’s able to
Take another title Al kety hily dallo Schwarz bar your top five at the minute Mark blooms on eighth place Sam what do you think about the form that kety arrives here in it’s uh he’s definitely coming to his own the second part or the last part of the season I think it
Already started at the World Championships uh second in the short track and top five in XO and it’s just been a snowball effect from there you know you can see his performance in thej a perfect weekend that just uh it does wonders for the confidence and I’m sure
He’s riding on Cloud9 right now how much helped it for a rider and you have done that as well stage races on the road or races on the road for a better performance in the cross country racing or it’s definitely it’s super beneficial I mean you have to really you know do it
In a good way and have a good program and and a good uh sort of procedure behind it but we’ve seen you know in the beginning when he was racing a B&B uh he struggled a little bit on the mountain bike just to get the combination right
And I mean since the worlds he did uh VA beros and came forth in a stage there and now has come and done this on the mountain bike so it’s definitely showing it works it maybe just takes a bit of time to find tune how how to make it
Work right you know well kety is going for a historic double double B here he won the short track then he won the cross country Olympic as we see shter moving past viari and the list s yeah won both short track There’s Tom pedco and the cross
Country Olympic in Le won the short track here J he’s behind him and wondering where Matias f is this is Alin teammates of Matias F but there’s Mattias f with number plate on his back we want to get to the front Charlie Al still leading look back over his
Shoulder all eyes as ever in the cross country Olympic distance on Tom pedco as well prefers that over theh track interesting to see what he can come up with today for more 16th Place there is Aldridge on that custom painted Canon Canon Factory racing machine really distinctive looking forer the Italian Champion is
Thereo so K from New Zealand Sam Countryman yeah I mean it’s uh he had a really good test toin uh and also really exciting for him is that the mon an course is something that really suits him as well I mean he’s came close to winning there in the
Past before he crashed out on the final lap so yeah it’s nice to see him uh riding a confidence again and I think he’s uh yeah really looking forward to the next two weeks look at suu on the Move in the left hand side of the track
Yeah you see their Idol are still battling for their positions not set yet Schwarz B out front now ahead of skate yeah Cooper R past me day with that mustache looking absolutely fantastic I think that’s the difference the mo is making the difference but making the difference at the front list
One at the minute Lucas Schwarz B ketki is in close contention behind him I’m really confused about his jersey it almost looks like European Champs Jersey which FL DUS actually is wearing looks similar yeah yeah it does it does we haven’t seen it that often uh in the
Past but over the last few years it’s come more and more into you know into International mountain biking uh I think it’s a nice Jersey I think it looks really nice and of course it’s cool to represent the continent of oana that’s how it is so Mar in front of Tom pit
Also good race for him so far I think it’s really important now to get the race into this bridge going into the first time as technical descent because it’s going to back up quite a lot and then from there with a steep incline out of there I feel like that’s where you’re
Going to start to see the groups start to form Sam how much of that game plan will be pre-programmed in for these Riders it you’ll new thing key points at that will you before the start of the race it’s goes part and parcel with it
You know we look at lines we look at uh the most efficient way to get around the course but we also think about what we can do on the course to make a difference you know like usually with myself I like to find points in the
Course where if I’m good I can make a difference and other parts where I know that maybe it’s my strength that I can use to recover during the race and also make a decisive move towards the end so these guys think about well they head onto the first lap
Properly then off seven for the Elite man Reus there is Schwarz barar ahead of ketki ahead of [Applause] suu and the speed goes up for their best position before they’re entering that long descent after that bridge these Riders they know couple of different choices through there speed’s really really high here in
Snowshoe the whole way around there’s large forer fer with j in front of him the Spanish Rider Strong right were Leading George out the front with KY and Suu we’ve made our way back into this hectic Little Rock Garden to start the loop now the men’s race has been an extraordinary to Pace the star we cannot wait to see him drop in here as we’ve seen earlier there’s an inside line and outside line it’s riddled with rocks as
We get into the darkness the roots are slippery and spicy Lucas Schwarz B leads us for the inside ketki suu and happily navigate their way down now what’s really difficult about this as they get into the woods here it pinches all the lines filter into one another pitcock
Around the outside and it’s very difficult to overtake and they’re all bunching up down here it’s a bit of a bottleneck in this next little section the next section is hectic the speed these Riders are coming through here oh as Tomo has a bit of an issue Andre sink

Don’t know yet but um yeah seems like going around the outside maybe getting a pass or two and probably just staying on the smooth one if you can well it’s fantastic to see you here mate this is a very hectic section lots of Carnage there’s absolute it’s an absolute
Nightmare down here in front of us and uh we’re here for it so happy Days this time in the elite women’s race really cost Havoc you can see how greasy it is B of moisture on the circuit there p coock through it safy kety to the front now yeah already early in the race leading here on the climb that’s steep climb steepest part of the course Soo
Hanging with the front two and this is where this course can get rid of really challenging you know cuz over the top of this peak if you really just keep the pressure on the pedals for an extra 20 seconds you can make a real difference and break a group
Up so it’s actually you know it’s one climb or one major major climb in the race but what you can do to maximize that over these next two minutes really can dictate the group that goes away and how you do it it’s like road racing where you have these little times and
Then just over the top then they accelerate and there is where the Gap mostly spread out yep and you know uh a great yeah the great suure kristofh saza my first mentor coach uh and professional in the professional ranks one of the most valuable things he
Taught me a lot of valuable things but one of the most valuable things was as you come over and climb I say this but you know keep the Cadence going you know like spin yourself up and then like without even realizing you’re actually traveling a lot faster after 5 seconds
And it’s just little things like this if you can put it together on a course and you feel good it can make a difference to how you sort of carry yourself in the first half it’s not it’s not as similar to golf is it there’s just so many
Little tricks and tips and technique changes and little bits of movements here and there that can make such a big difference in Cross Country Mountain bik race and kety leads Schwarz barar suu harly dascalo Aldridge blooms vny Carson shter a ninth at the minute Luca Brio’s right behind him the Italian national

Point of the Season especially with the miles he has in his League from the road he’s definitely got a big big base so I expect to see Tom really finish long today huge huge Talent isn’t he really can just can do it all basically on any
Kind of race bike and he’s in the mix today pitcock but it’s Victor ketki still who’s leading some small gaps now between the groups pushing hard in the Jason group ketki Schwarz hly talo Aldridge that front group of six it’s time for n now to move to the
First group close to Gap fluka goes in 18th at the minute and definitely because you know on the course there’s a few decent uh good pinch points you know as they come into here to the single track there’s actually 2 minutes until you can get
Past the rouer again so a lot of these sections you know if you’re on the back of a group it could be quite worthy trying to get to the front cuz you know how you go into the section now is how you come out in 2 minutes time so first
Part of the race if you’re definitely climbing through groups it’s uh these are really important sections of the course too it cost a little bit more an extra energy on a certain point but it pays off so much yeah exactly you got to spend energy to get energy or spin you
Know spin bullets to get bullets in a way um and so you can already see here Tom is’s already onto the back of the next group being close to it and we can carry him a long way now Mar blooms what season Martins blooms is having really
Emerging a lot of top 10 finishes this year yeah whoever his team manager is must be happy with his performances I’m proud of him fingers crossed there’s large forer as well they’re all at the front of this one you know we saw this in the elite women’s
Race as well a lot of fire power at the front of it takes a couple of laps for yeah the pace is high but they stay so close together I’m really impressed about that on a course like this it’s possible and I guess in this form as
Well they all know kety is the danger man he’s the man to watch yeah but you have to save some energy as well to to the end of the race we saw that with Lana l she was doing doing not that much in the beginning but at the end she was
Very strong it’s strange isn’t it I’ve seen it happen a couple of times this season l l comp came on really really strong but then it’s as if they hit a hit buffer a Time mark it was 16 seconds for her today and she couldn’t seem to break past that sure
Pitock this that group came back again that descent has dried out a good bit it was Absol he’s in touch with that group too yeah so fluger it in front of him Riders together mostly being one line now you know it takes one low from the group
Through the start finish or just looking about a little bit and mat the guy like mat can make 5 10 spots just boom like this you know so I definitely think uh yeah the the key group will take a little bit to form but you know guys
Back in 10th 15th now still have an opportunity to get back before that [Applause] happens the pace at the front of this is absolutely light and fast one start lap plus seven full laps I think it’s a short race again we saw most of the category today was a little bit
Short but the course is in perfect conditions there’s Victor kety the 13 on upside down would you go with that one Bart would you go with the 13 upside down I would I wouldn’t turn upside down just straight up oh there was a shrug of the
Shoulders there no no no I think yeah nothing wrong with 13 yeah no no I think I let you make your own luck in this spot that’s how it is well mechanical problems there two you yeah a couple of punctures in yeah that was Fabi Spa from Switzerland getting the front
Wheel change by look of it a blooms coming to the front overt a few Riders fighting for their positions Charlie Aldridge on the outside bringing Vlad the scall with from the top of this one as well vlad’s a good guy for today he had a really good short track in the
Top five um and yeah he’s definitely starting to come into his own European Champion a couple months ago in a good world so good coret Su big powerful guy I mean uh he’s been superb on the last laps as well this season he always arrives late in the day but arrives like
A train yeah for sure and now the game starts slowing down a little bit schz bar to the front again but this is sort of you know being in the front is so good in these first minutes because the guys who had a low here could refuel a little bit
Have a look around if you’re back in 15th 20th wheel you’re still sprinting out the whole all day exactly so it’s really it pays off as you’re pushing a lot and trying to get yourself into position early on in the race do you want to be at the front of this night or
Do you want uh somethingone like Schwarz bar driving it on and just sit at a pace you’re com it’s always good if someone else doesn’t work for you but um you know I think just to be you know it’s you said you see pit now pass passing Caron he likes
To be in a better position of he knows especially the down com look at Tom picko move up the ranks here past Aldridge in front of Charlie Aldridge who serious serious Pierce from Tom Pincock yeah that long descent start very soon again he knows he has to be in a better position for that do you find just over the bridge do you find with your experience on the road with pidcock’s experience on the road just makes you sharper in a pack like that you can just
See those gaps and move up we saw in novaes narave in the short track he just moved through that pack like you def you definitely are a lot more confident with allowing the washing machine to happen around you you know like when it’s tight group racing you don’t really have
Control over who comes around the side or what happened so I think it’s more having more confid comfort in that and then being able to to pick your battles a bit better of how you make it to the front of the group in the timing of things yeah his his awareness and the
Proximity to other Riders around him let’s just watch this just slides himself between the barriers and Nino shter then round the outside of finny Carson and then into this really really technical descent Roots everywhere shter not a baller for him he’s still calm I would say not stressed
At all over 20 years on the one manufacturer as well Nino shter as mechanic Yanni was telling us earlier in the weekend spent his whole career on Scot bikes that’s allowed him to really mold that latest version of the spark around him his ability to out theend pretty much
Everyone 89 years ago really dragged the sport forward in terms of technical descending and alongside other Riders like Yolanda nef and now the through field so so good at going downhill as well as up there’s a little splinter group now four at the front yeah had on Fifth closing that Gap quite
Easily but after The Descent there will be gaps all the time from pitock he lost a little bit of time over there coming back to the canel guy had Le behind him there’s pedco world champion listen to the crowd yeah FL foot out it makes it more difficult for these Riders behind him you stay on the bike it’s not that easy when they riding that close together on these technical sections uphill slippery roots and rocks
Seen a few times in the elite women’s race where a mistake from one white Rider can just Ripple backwards Victor ketki second plays over the here shifting conditions Sam here as well in Snowshoe this week it started really sort of murky and there’s Tom pedot now pass hly yeah he likes to join
That first group yep he’s done with waiting so it started off very wet this week it’s dried out a lot since then yeah it’s really dried in the last 24 hours uh especially you know when we did the Recon um it super dark super slimy and uh you could really not grip on
Anything and that actual the route section there uh the expert downhall that was treacherous um but now it’s definitely it’s still a little bit uh slimy in there where you really have to be a bit more cautious but the rest of the course it’s uh yeah it’s almost at the
Ap7 very smart right so far forit yeah hly just managed to attach himself to the back of him it looks like trying and ride across this Gap yeah small Gap but as we’ve seen throughout today those small gaps can get big very very quickly yeah we saw that in earli of categories today
Definitely it was especially with the big man in purple driving the pace on it front Schwarz Bar on sixth place and you of chasing hard now to close that Gap so big result for you guys today as well with Puck yeah it’s awesome uh just goes to show how consistent she’s been this season first year in the in the elite as well uh but yeah being a
Teammate to her is awesome and just witnessing it you know she’s uh definitely has fun with the sport and you know she’s always up for a joke but when it comes to it I mean yeah there’s very few that I think can perform at that level in and out and especially for
Her age it’s pretty phenomenal away yeah and she’s we talked about it during the elite women’s race she’s just so relaxed and you you could almost mistake her for an amateur racer who’s just turned up to have a go if you met her casually in the
Pits but yeah I mean I mean last last Thursday I was watching the 23 short bag races you and per standing next to me just watching the races I I I told rck it was cold and I mean you guys have to lay down and recover and yeah usually
That’s how per is and that’s maybe how you are too I mean usually we wouldn’t but though the we thing is just literally a 2-minute walk away so also good for the jit lag um don’t recommend always been on your feet but you know she yeah there’s still there’s still some room to
Improve Fluker that’s terrifying that idea Fluker is up to 14th position now with Joshua Deo in 13th so Fluker 16 seconds off the front of this one CH bar leads the away from ketki but you can you can really see what it means to go into that descent
Well you know like what came out of that one line and now the guys in that second group have been chasing full where for instance Tom really made that one impact or one effort and now can recover exactly last minute he’s been able to reset recover recompose and then think
About sort of what these other dudes are up to and he has it looks like he has an overview about the whole race constantly yeah yeah I mean that’s the thing if you can uh control your like yeah control yourself a little bit You Can Think Clearly then you can really start to
Yeah see where other guys are weak on the course see where you’re strong on the course and sort of play the second half of your race from there it’s such an unbelievable season we’ve had it felt like we started the year where there’ be one Rider in a group like this that we’d
Be talking about would be the danger man it feels like everyone in there is the potential Danger Man of the minute and it’s awesome to see you know the level of mountain biking and especially the last few years I mean when so many guys are winning and so many guys are in
Contention it shows that the sport is growing and on both women and men you you know is I think it’s really a good place for mountain bike well there you have it two laps in your top 10 covered by just 7 Seconds mostly seconds so many different nationalities yeah I’m really
Surprised about that all the way always too yeah I mean it’s a it’s a Germany France it’s UK Romania South Africa Switzerland laa Denmark say New Zealand New Zealand there we go 11 Anon Cooper where is he there’s noo shter behind Martin’s blooms So shter currently ninth 6
Seconds away from the front so still right there it’s very tight the moment super tight to Cole and you see Victor’s just been sitting second or third B the whole time you know he hasn’t had to close one uh one Gap he’s just been able to really Follow the
Leader and make his own way back to it so I mean even that he’s conserved a little bit more than everyone else at this point in the race Jordan Su similar yeah very very smart the way how they are riding saving energy another J another strong
French you sort of you almost fail for to Bow a bit because he’s coming good at a time when it’s a very very difficult place to come good there’s so many potential winners and you know maybe five or six years ago he’d be out the
Front but look at the the caliber of the talent around him so difficult but he’s been really impressive this year he’s won the Breakthrough acts really yeah I mean in S play and me Tom was uh it was amazing result for him um but yeah I mean also just inside French mountain
Biking I mean uh the level of the French uh the French national is it’s it’s really high at the moment and not even with the elite boys I mean we have you know three or four different French riders in the top 10 or 15 but then
Adrian B in the year 23 he’s a contender for Olympics and another cycle or so and even next Year at the top of the last climb here luga Schwarz kety Jordan suu and Tom pitock has made his way all the way back into fourth this climb is brutal this is the top of the biggest climb of the race after this they drop into the Little
Rock Garden now this Little Rock Garden looks quite simple but when you’re crosseyed and breathing as hard as you can it’s very difficult we saw some flat tires to Beck Henderson and a couple of other athletes earlier in this weekend’s racing this rock garden can have a catastrophic effect from here they go
Under the Oakley bridge and it is one of their only chances to grab a breath have a drink have a gel it’s a very very physically demanding part of the course here one little slip up here can have a detrimental effect cuz after here we got the start Loop climb we got another
Climb past The Tech Zone so you really want to get through here calm cool collected the field is Chris Levens our American champion at his home race the field is strung out here there is some massive damage that’s been caused here it’s been a great start so far really
Cool section to watch and the crowd’s getting bigger and bigger there goini yeah wow he always finish really strong too like he’s had the yeah he’s coming Well it’s one of the things I always ask B Sam how much how much of your opponent’s strengths and weaknesses do you know when you look around in a group like that yeah I mean we all have a fair idea of everyone we race each other quite consistently throughout the season
And you know uh everyone’s really familiar with of each other’s strengths I mean uh you get a lot more when you have you know your one-on-one battles and you sort of the experience of racing each other but for sure these guys all know what everyone’s doing a little bit there’s Martin blooms
Now the ketki blooms putting kety Under Pressure schw B now on third place kety gini Schwarz barar Bloom suu Pitcock dascalo hly fluka goes up in the ninth night ahead of n look how close they all are down through this wood section it’s crazy gini goes to the left pitock goes to the
Right the bit between his teeth up in the eighth position now there so many fans here on this part of the course too it’s great to see that Sam you have to be impressed with mat Fluker he just look you look at the performance on the toughest days of the year like Andor
He’s just such a competitor yeah he’s a hard man I mean uh definitely when it becomes a very you know grueling race like I watched uh the highlights from Andor I was racing the V at the time and he comes into his own on those days and also the gang world championships that
Jordan won was second there and that was another treacherous one in Andor it was never the arm warmers got pulled down you knew that that was it business time he was off it was so cold so wet and that’s when he’s on his best yeah for
Sure I mean it was funny cuz I mean we’re still in summer at that point and I was right we were going for the next day for the wild tour and I saw the highlights of the mountain bike race and I was thinking full winter there or what
You know I heard that there imagine a few days before it was like 30° ex it changed so quickly it was the wild have to deal with that it was a complicated all weekend let’s just say that kki Mar blooms L schw yeah you can see Victor just
Running his own speed through here fought well for the single track that time The Descent and now he can really control goes on oh little bubble from Schwarz bar let’s see if it ripples backwards though they all manage to get away with it I think at this point it may be

What’s been the difference for him is just good prep uh I think he he’s also he’s the front the front yeah yeah yeah he has also the confidence after yeah already so many good results not a Podium yet but top 10 finishes well he’s at the front now

From that you see it with Thomas uh you know Alexandra K and fluko when one of them goes well the other ones sort of you know really performs well too so you know I mean all part of it you spend so much time on the road with each other
And it uh yeah I mean you end up really getting along you spend so much time yeah and don’t forget all the staff people that mechanics the M who are taking care about all you a crash for Charlie Aldridge then Aldridge down on the exit of that little descent oh bitly

Weekend for just about one of the toughest cross country race tracks in the business still a big group together SCH had to Le the last one of this group I was just about to ask you some who’s looking good in this group for you but they’re looking pretty strong just
