This was our first-time mountain biking Basque Country, which is found in the northeast corner of Spain right next to France.

We flew into San Sebastián with our bikes and gave ourselves a couple of days to get over jet lag. The first impression was a nice town, amazing food. We toured both east and west from there via a car and enjoyed the first couple of days getting our bearings and eating… a lot.

We were greeted by our Guides, Beñat & Martxel, on Saturday afternoon and they brought us to Hondarribia where we would be for the rest of our stay. We all agreed that Hondarribia was a more enjoyable town to explore, from the old walled city center to the old fishing village, and amazingly, the food was also a step up.

We road for a total of 5 days out of 6 and as you can see from the video, there was a huge variety of terrain. Each area had its own strengths and we enjoyed them all thoroughly. The trip was made by the guides as they went above and beyond to accommodate our riding style and adapted to us when we had an “off” day.

A Special thanks again to Beñat & Martxel at BasqueByBike.com for showing us a great week. We can wholeheartedly endorse them as great guides.
