So what we discovered that there was lader cycling activities out there in the communities but with the south Asia M Community especially within the f females we realize that they didn’t actually know how to cycle so they can’t participate in the events that we’re running we’ve quite successfully had

Ladies that come from um learning how to ride a bike taking the pedals off to actually riding bikes independently I can’t ride a bike and I really wanted to I think it’s quite an important skill um I’ve recently had a baby so that was the motivation I want to be able to ride

With him Brandon Lawrence is perfect it’s perfect because a lot of the ladies that participate they don’t want to be exposed outside for us it’s really important to find ways of making the facility work for the community and such as working with the this girl can campaign to find

The facility just available for women at certain times the challenges as a community charity and work with the community is not just the cost of living but the cost that comes with it and to us we want to keep it at a level that people can afford it’s my childhood

Dream come true I’m sleeping okay now yeah and there’s no more unpleasant uh worries and thoughts yes it’s quite helpful we’re we’re really here to to make sure uh people from all all walks of life people who are underrepresented in in cycling can um can have the

Opportunity to to access all the all the kind of um health benefits cost benefits um all the great things which cycling brings here’s my dream come true I like swimming I like dancing and it’s amazing fantastic I like to be around everybody with my friends as well and um the staff here are absolutely tremendous West area project benefits us all it’s great to have them renting space it’s just lovely to see people just all sorts

Of types of people around and we love these sort of partnership people I are me and I are down in GM for acting and time to keep of the Lenton Center is quite a unique space because it is a safe space for everybody we try and welcome everybody when they come

Through the door and say hello goodbye we try and offer the Personal Touch anyone who’s got any kind of barriers to exercise they’re a bit timid we’ve got a gym where there aren’t so too many people doing working out it’s just people coming here who just want a

Place to be to be with other people and to exercise in a really friendly welcoming atmosphere Community facilities are so important because there’s hardly any left we need more sort of customers through the door really we need more people coming in for swim and more people using the [Applause] gym as a foundation we have a few different departments but um what we do is we try and Inspire active change uh in the local communities so through the power of sport physical activity and wellbeing is looking to really Implement those um in across the community and

Inspire those changes The CARE program um is our cancer and Rehabilitation through exercise program it’s a it’s a program that’s been running for nearly 10 years now I come to the care exercise program because I had cancer I’m in remission and if it comes back I’m going to be fit

Enough to deal with it the care um setup has been a revelation for me because when I started I was um Str really struggling um losing my Mobility um in a lot of pain had a lot of stiffness this has given me a a quality of life that I thought I’d lost

Forever coming here there’s lots of friends lots of mates people to chat with they’ve all got a similar backstory to me I call I call them my cancer crew I think it’s of huge importance that the three centers obviously ourselves and Lenton Center and Brandon Lawrence

Remain a big part of the communities and continue to be funded um the difference being that they obviously make a real impact on communities and it’s not that transition of a a traditional Ledger Center
