Like kind of Prim spots and I guess they need access to water that’s the simple answer and they got to go somewhere where they’ve got access to water and you know that being such a hey such a scarce resource here that uh you less scarce than other places I

Guess but you end up with stuff like that in beautiful places I guess we’re not the only ones remember flying into Japan the first time I’ve just seen this massive and masses of cooling towers beling out into the air it was like some crazy manga or anime movie is very kind of dystopian

Future modernistic postmodern apocalyptic Wasteland it’s not quite as bad here you is bad here um yeah that’s always puzzled me about New Zealand we got this kind of like here in front of me now this kind of like white building just some very clean using lines pointing up to the mountains I

Don’t know if that was designed on purpose but who was well done nice design so public access to like walkways like this cycleways like this is always interesting kind of how how do you get how do you negotiate that cuz I know that signs here that saying this edges right

Onto private property and where it does go over private property I guess the local councils have to negotiate access and pay for that over a number of years set up agreements that I know it’s broken down a couple places in ockland for some of the walkways one in particular I’m thinking

Of that has not worked out well and uh the private owner has now blocked that off so people can’t walk that walkway as they once used to oh look it’s a cool Bridge yeah this is cool love it this little boardway just run another that I’m coming for hey oh I love

Mur and the ferry goes through there at 10 the hour it’s now halfast 11 so I should make it for the 10 12 and then I’ve got 50 minutes wandering around in mapa uh and before I uh get on the ferry hopefully enough but on the warf I’ll have time to switch

To the uh X3 and I’ll take that on the ferry with me here we go this is where I went wrong I think round about here let’s have a look now there’s no there’s no turn in at this point so I must have missed it bit earlier on let’s

Wanting to see a little bit of New Zealand well just a reminder we are now on Rabbit Island probably about 20ks just about nearly 20ks out of Nelson which is where I started off and that’s the top of the South Island in New Zealand and I’m going to a little place called

Mara I’m going to catch a cute little very over and about 5 km from here which is going to be fun and I’m just testing external mics and uh testing a little bit of unedited Vlog hi just thing a little bit of unedited vlogging well lightly edited vlogging

Uh and being able to just show you a little bit about my days this is a bit of an unusual day I’ll give you that it’s not often I hop on a plane and go and bike ride around Nelson and have coffee and lunch and afternoon tea and walk and talk no

Doesn’t happen happen often at all but used to maybe you’ll uh to see a little bit not only of my travels but also kind of like daytoday life but you know like one of the things I’m kind of like every now and again kids come up into my

Videos but I’m kind of like trying to you know not show them not have them in the videos too much no it’s not bad choice to be in the videos my channel on their parent kind of like trying to protect them from kind of like the Wier world as well as kind

Of like you know show them the wider world as well so trying to do that in a managed way but certainly how they consume it is going to be one thing but how they’re actually on it and present in the world and their choices around

That see yeah I’m wary of having them in there so much so that means that you know how I do these kind of like longer daily Vlogs are probably going to be days where I don’t have the kids so much uh and when I’m kind of

Like you know not just stuck in the office editing or filming or something but when I am able to get out and about now what I am looking forward to is uh you know traveling more this year I’ve got trips to Japan and UK books in the first half of this year

But then also I’ve got other trips booked in uh New Zealand too so I will get back in the from the UK in April late April and then late May I’ll be going to Queenstown just for the day it’s my birthday uh in May so it’s kind of like a little bit of

A a little bit of a celebration of that where I’ll celebrate with the family and then I’ll go for a bit of an adventure on that day which will be fun and then um we got nothing booked in July which is fine just kind of just

Setle into life and then that’ll be kind like the midwinter holidays here which is like two weeks so I probably spend a bit of the time with the kids because that will be the last holiday through our 4-year-old uh pretty much before she started school uh towards the the end of the

First around about I can’t remember the exact date which she going to start school in August uh so yeah that’ll be a big change for our family we’ll have three school kids at that point but fortunately we’ll just be going to two institutions then cuz for a while it’s been quite

Tricky with three different drop off places each morning and we’re trying to get the kids we don’t really live walkable distance cuz we live right at the top of the hill and it’s been much to ask like a four and a sixy old to make it up to the top

Of their walking uh and of course your left too young to take the uh oh I changed down gears too young to take the uh the bast themselves of course here we go right we’re here all right so we’re going to cycle along here let’s get up gears

Again uh I take a break here uh from vlogging for a little while let’s get down to the ferry and I’ll catch up with you there with some FaceTime well in the end I had put my foot down cuz I didn’t think I was going

Make that one um for the last 4 km had to go pretty much as fast as I could and I just about made it with about 2 or 3 minutes to go but this is a pretty awesome site here Mur uh so I’ll be stopping here just to get some lunch

It’s about 50 minutes between Ferry rides at this time of the day all times of the day and the ferry goes till like 5:00 um so if I do want to hang out here for a bit longer I can uh it’s 12:17 now

So yeah I better go and get on with it I think it uh might be fish and chips might be the order of the day be hard not to really given the uh the surroundings check it out it’s pretty astounding really that I can just get here so

Quickly after uh getting up at 4:30 this morning in Nelson it’s uh pretty marvelous right that’s enough it’s probably a queue for food
