After our morning enjoying the city of Ljubljana, it’s time to hit the road once again. Our ride takes us to Vrhnika, a small city with no shortage of charm, but today is all about the journey. under ar dramatic and threatening sky, we travel through the broad expanse of the Ljubljana Moors, ringed by mountains and filled with the music of insects and birds, before we take a side trip to Iški Vintgar, a gorge and nature preserve. There we enjoy a bit of nature before we take the final stretch into Vrhnika. A spectacular day, filled with beauty and memories.

Yeah that sky looks a little a little unsettled nothing we’re not prepared for Right We began our morning enjoying this unsung European capital of Luana with its delightful outdoor market and beautiful architecture but we had places to go and before noon we were on our way ready for the quiet Landscapes that awaited us outside the city Luana turns out to be a really nice
Town very cultural very cool great architecture take a look at that Main Street there is lovely of cool stuff in the shops Too we’re on our way today’s destination verica a busy little town to get there we would have to ride through the Luana Moors a Haven for wildlife and if we hurried we could make the side trip to ishi vinar a Scenic Gorge just a bit out of our way always good to get
Out of the Mayhem as much as we enjoyed Luana we always look forward to the peace and quiet that the countryside provides I’ve had easier times getting out of cities than we did getting out of Luana but with a bit of work we were able to manage and before too long we were routed onto a quiet country road we sailed along beneath a dramatic Cloudscape so here’s how she said on
Your left she said Tada Tada it’s a nice Road no wonder she’s cycling it this is the kind of Road you just love you know just quiet well paved Tada yeah that sky looks a little get little unsettled nothing we’re not prepared for right at some point we found ourselves
On a very Rocky gravel path leading us straight across a perfectly flat plane with stately mountains in the distance it’s an old Lake that dried up 6,000 years ago and of some geological significance I guess it’s pretty through here this is the lublana marsh or lublana Moes of its
63 square miles 52 of them have been protected as a landscape Park it’s home to an impressive variety of birds and insects and here the remains of prehistoric pile dwellings were discovered and the oldest wooden wheel in the world was found here in these marshes today it was just a pleasant
Ride on a beautiful route under a painterly sky but if you never flown before you can take a love this light so Pretty you down down down you can still Take although your Earth You were we reached a small town where we made a detour to ishki vinar and we headed that Way The sky continued to threaten but we never got much more than a Sprinkle soon we found ourselves climbing up a green and Pleasant Valley with cows and pretty houses and Old Mill ponds and lots of forest boy it’s so pretty through here isn’t it yes it is love this Valley not there yet so right now we’re on a little side trip that goes up into this Gorge uh ity ventar I will check on that nice little Trail little more mountain biky maybe just slightly beautiful Woods gorgeous have you noticed how the girls are always way ahead of
Me and then the paved Road became a dirt Trail and then the dirt Trail became a Rocky Trail and at some point we just locked up the bikes and went a bit further on foot what can I grab or do you want the ones from breakfast from Breakfast who was only an easy half day’s ride from the heart of Luana but so far Removed we relished the quiet Kelsey and Bailey grew up skipping stones and Creeks like this in the Colorado Rockies and we decided to test our skills again you want some skipping stones are you ready yeah the best uh Stones oh yeah oh that was good that was
Good you kind of forget this is a road huh totally very easy to forget with any of these trails that look like this yeah I keep feeling like they’re B and then we glided back down the valley this time even prettier with a light rain glazing everything a cool day a relaxed ride
Through gentle Landscapes time with the ones I love and beauty in so many ways and in all directions all along the Route this is so pretty coming down love it that tiny little bit of rain really cooled It Off eaten it up a little bit it’s hard to explain to someone who
Hasn’t ever gone bike touring the feeling of riding through some new and beautiful landscape with the light just so with no idea of what the next day or even what the next 15 minutes will bring but almost suspended in time a perfect Cadence in the here and
Now so sharp so bright so close we go find the pot of blls look at for it but I can’t find it this is why we ride to have as many days like today is possible perfect in every Way had just the lightest amount of rain coming down feels very nice as we drew closer to verica the landscape begin to change change and the road became much busier unlike much of Western Europe Slovenia is still working on getting a good bicycle route system in place
That’s how they make their bus stops here there are few places outside of the city where one can find a paved trail but it’s popular with cyclists and drivers seem very alert and respectful towards cyclists even through the busy stretches we never felt threatened more Construction and headwinds which are really slowing
Me down doesn’t seem to be slowing down kelse or Bailey no matter what they just keep riding hard but boy I’m I don’t know if it’s the bike I don’t know what it is but say hard gorgeous afternoon though really loving the day it’s been lovely Lovely another casualty of World War II this was at one time world’s tallest railroad Viaduct this is all that’s left just this one pillar here they destroyed of course all the bridges in Europe practically were destroyed please excuse the tractors pretty much all the bridges in
Europe were destroyed in World War II I think so sadly this did not survive but anyway it’s good that they left something of it and uh and something to remember it by beautiful piece of railroad Engineering oh goodness oh good have to look at this the final miles into town greeted us with lovely surprises including bucolic Vistas and for a change clearing Skies so we what that right okay we pull over very soon and figure out where the hotel is We arrived at our hotel cleaned up and I snuck out for a quick walk around to check out the Town while someone was apparently getting April spritzes without me okay cheers it’s okay we made up for a later all in all another in a long line of spectacular Days

An excellent, excellent video of your bicycle tour of Slovenia. Thank you for sharing it with us 🙂
Another outstanding video and what beautiful country. Each tour gets better and better. Going to be hard to top this one. Take care, Al
Of course the bike is at least part of the problem. Think of the thousands of miles you have ridden your own bike, you fit it like a glove now and it fits you like a glove. Np other bike will ever fit or feel like your own. I bet you never leave it behind again though. Another winner video, Thanks.
Super, slow and relax. You discover Slovenija.👍
Beautiful country! Your drone shots add a lovely perspective. 💜
The scenery is just spectacular!! I always look forward to your videos.
Yup, on those drone views!
So beautiful.
Some scenes almost look like a model railroad scene. Wow.
So, love seeing those churches!
That destroyed bridge was way beyond incredible, as it once existed!
So, worried and nervous now…, that WWIII has already started in real-time.
Tout le pays est vraiment joli

Cool ride, though, Tks for sharing it.
Enjoyed this trip very much. Nice shots, especially the drone circling the red steeple in the setting sun!
