Winter Cruise ahead of the storms on the BCN West Midlands Canals Pt2 #160

This weeks vlog I will be carrying on my winter cruise on the BCN, in some industrial and suburbs of outskirts of Wolverhampton and Walsall, more storms are heading our way so wanted to move to a better location.

Hello there and welcome back to another video of narab about Florence roads we’re going to continue our winter Cruise today and we’re going to head towards the water point which is just on the outskirts of wara so hopefully it won’t rain let’s enjoy the day together I think So as I was saying we’re on the outskirts of wolver Hampton now I’d say we’re in the halfway markup B wolver Hampton War way bit of a suburb area a little bit Industrial but overall not tooo bad the reads are dying in the canal so we got a lot of

Out like on the video I mean generally I’ve got it on the top middle looking forward so I’m going to try it a bit on the offside and a bit on the top paath side we’ll see how we go on it’s good having an overview look I think personally but

Now it’s in a bad little spot down there I mean I would more down here in all fairness because it’s quite open you’ll get a bit of solar the only thing God uh have to find out is where the road is so you can get to it because a lot of

Now the good thing about cruising is you get the added bonus of uh the water in the tank being not I’ve got a 250 L water tank and the engine will heat it it’ll be boiling us and it needs to be run for about an

Hour and you’re good for at least a day going into the next day it will be luk warish let’s have a look at how long have I been cruising Today okay so I’ve been going for a few hours it’s only just coming up to the early afternoon there I shouldn’t be all that far off the water point now I reckon I’ll be there within half an hour not bad going at all no traffic on The Canal at all turn a bad

The sun’s still out but we’ve got a little bit of uh cover with the trees on the right that’s why I thought okay let’s start filming again so let’s try another camera position I think now all I’m going to do for this one is just raise it a little

Okay yeah they’re all right just a little warning halfhearted bar good dog some German Shepherds so looks like we’re coming into another area don’t know what this one’s called but looks like we’ve got an estate on the right and the left very quiet there a canal arm smack bang gear on the

Left boats m get quite a lot of boats in there and we have just picked some of it up don’t know what it is might have to get over don’t know what that is but we’ve definitely pick some of up okay get the boat onto the toad path side and see what’s

What going to have a bit of a bump here cuz I’ve got almost zero steering okay we are back on the road unfortunately I think my batter is going to die so we might have to take it up uh when I’ve got the battery Charged but anyway don’t know what that was that I picked up cleared the uh propeller a bit but what I do remember is the last time I was down here I had uh a piece of rope and a massive uh bike tire around the propeller which totally stalled the engine

Out and that was unbelievably bad to remove cuz I had to get into the water and actually cut it off with uh a haa it was that bad because as we know tires I have metal in them but yeah not the best Bo a long shot and that’s what

Happened just down on this stretch here but when things happen like that if you can get over to the side get over to the side while you’re still moving and uh get it sorted which is exactly what I did didn’t take long to do but there’s nothing worse than drifting it on the

Left hand side the off side or the middle of the canal get over to the side where you can actually get off the boat and you can do something about it so yeah I think the batter is going to die any second it’s flashing red at

Me I would have thought it would have lasted longer to be honest but don’t look so unfortunately excuse me I did the battery did die on me on the on the camera as you see in the video but what happened was I come down the cup for about

Another maybe 3 hours filled up with water and carried on it’s all right it’s morning time and the the sun is proper bright mowed up in a new spot couldn’t get the moing pins in carried on for another uh roughly half a mile and uh then found this morning in spot so I’ll

Show you this one now I think so like I was saying it’s a lovely crisp morning down there I won’t go too far towards the sun because it is extremely bright but more down here went over to the woods there and spent yesterday afternoon just collecting wood there’s that many felt

Down trees over there cut them up brought them back to the boat I mean the only problem I had is there’s this quite steep embankment here leading into a park and there’s some stairs further down there which was a bit of a mission carting it all up but there you go but

As you can see I got a fair bit of wood put it into coins as well as PS so yeah not bad at all and I’m glad that I did more here so that was it for this one folks it is a little bit of a short video because the battery died but
