Boat how do you find living and working on one Dr me yeah yeah um so workwise um for me is fully YouTube now thanks to you guys um literally filming editing all the videos on the boat so the fact that film with the boat is actually really quite easy to work from

The boat yeah in that respect um for other jobs there are going to difficulties um it’s almost a full-time job just maintaining the boat and filling up with water empty in the toilet blah blah blah um if you’re continue Cruise if you’re on a marina you’re Mar it’s almost like on land

Isn’t it but yeah yeah what about you for your work that’s quite relevant yes so there’s more about my work in a bit I’ll mention that but like just living on the boat I mean we think it’s fine we we’re quite used to living in the small

Space we had the van before so that was more compact than this so yeah I think we’re quite comfortable with each other’s Space by now we should be I think if you’re working from home it’s great especially with starlink which we might invest in yeah lots of you keep

Saying about that we’d like to it’s just quite a lot of money isn’t it yeah but it’s almost if you’re working from home guaranteed 80 then this wouldn’t have been an issue I don’t this would have been an issue no we’ve been in HD next question is um

Does the close living ever calls arguments between you and if so what do you do when you need your own space um you normally go for a walk I was going to say I go for a walk but really we don’t argue like no genuinely we really

To do 10,000 steps a day which I know is like the recommended amount anyway but when you live on a boat and if it’s raining you’ve really got to make an effort to try and get those steps in like sometimes you do a shocking amount of few yeah exactly so yeah I’ve really

Work sort of thing so I do that back in Somerset um and yes I’m also an agency nurse uh to be honest it’s been pretty hard to do it the past couple months as I’m you have seen I’ve been in a lot more videos whereas if you’ve watched them previously there’s been sometimes

Where I haven’t been in them so much because I’ve been working um so yeah it’s been a bit difficult to be honest especially in London I think there’s not the shortage of nursing you know that’s great for the ward and stuff but yeah it has been a

Little bit hard so I have been going back to Somerset which is obviously not ideal because it’s really far but once we get a little bit further out of London we’re going to get the car and then it’ll be easier for me to get work it’s just because I was relying on

Public transport which is amazing it is good transport in London but when you need to get to a specific place which isn’t necessarily on like a line or something it was just it was just a bit tough so we haven’t I haven’t worked properly for a couple months now yeah

Still been going back to and our outgo are so much lower than a normal house so like that might sound really shocking to some people but you know we just live by our means really don’t be so but yeah I do really miss working I absolutely love being a nurse um and

Yeah I’m actually going back to work on Friday so I’m really looking forward to that and yeah I would really like a more permanent job but just being a continual Cruiser it is difficult there are jobs that you can do online but they’re not really ones that I fancy doing and I

Feel like you need to want to do that for to work sort of thing but yeah we’re making it work for now aren’t we and yeah we’ll um yeah I’d like to more than this again uh how far North are you planning on cruising and how would that

Impact Danny’s job yeah so again with my job I could I could definitely get a more permanent job sort of anywhere because there’s such a shortage of nurses but because we’re moving around all the time it is it does have its difficulties so yeah and regards to how

Far north we’re going I think I would be I would love to get to Manchester I know that’s really really far I we’ve only been there like once or twice on a night out you and me didn’t we yeah and we loved it so I love to get all the way up

There but Manchester Liverpool so OFA this year we’re hoping for Birmingham at least yeah around the Midlands um yeah definitely next ones are you enjoying being full-time continual cruises what concerns does it bring if any um yes I’m really enjoying it especially um after we sort of come out

Of London it’s all new again because the first time we went into London we didn’t film um and then obviously once you’ve been back out and we’re hang felt like we’re in London for a little yeah while and but now we’ve been cruising past few days moving to a new place the literally

Yesterday we moved today we moved um I’m really enjoying it especially the weather’s been pretty mild as well which all helps and then yeah I can’t wait for a bit of cruising in the summer yeah really excited I I have really enjoyed it the only concern if any is obviously

What I just said about my job and not being able to work that has been a bit of a stress for me um but yeah really enjoyed moving and like you said everywhere now is new to us like like just little towns and stuff you wouldn’t necessarily go to or we

Haven them been to so it’s really nice exploring new places um where are we uh will you still be doing razzled Dazzle paint job on the front uh as you originally planned so when we painted the boat the plan was to paint the bulkheads like the front and back bits

Um in black and white um Dazzle C Flash from like World War I World War II like the student ships still want to do it um probably do it this year hope when when the weather allows yeah yeah because we were if you remember when we painted the

Boat we were in a little bit of a rush to get out of the dock w we yeah then we headed down the Avon for winter left it a little bit late I think we want to touch up the paint before we probably do any more though oh yeah for sure yeah

Especially on the rubbing strips along the edges I’d love to get um Lady Penny bun sign right but again we need to find somebody that will do it I know most of them travel probably Countrywide for the jobs and stuff but to be honest they’re probably backlogged I doubt we’ll get to

Do that this year now might do if we message people we were just waiting to see if the paint would fall off we didn’t trust it it’s been okay um do what do you find the most challenging during the winter months on the boat I would say just the elements

Doing like if we’re in a marina then it wouldn’t have been such a problem you could have plugged in yeah yeah but no I quite enjoyed it I don’t really obviously it’s cold but I think with me not going off to work as much as well

The days have sort of just faded into one like I can’t believe it’s already the 31st of January like yeah hopefully summer will soon be here uh uh asked about costs so I’ve sort of left that one and I just read link back to our video because we plan to do a

Friends who live nearby um and also like uh Amazon lockers and things like that yeah so eBay um in post lockers Amazon lockers been great Amazon counters and everything else is to our friends so we’ve been very reliant on friends lately bless them I don’t think they

Mind too much though and some bits now that we’ve got the car it won’t be as bad but bigit we’re going to go get the car we’re going to go get the car and then um take it back to we could get stuff deliver to our parents and stuff we’re quite fortunate with

That uh where did you get your St glass windows from we got them from a local lady uh she I think she retired before we asked her so and then Joe broke them again and we had to get her to make them again so really bad yeah yeah she used

To do the um local church windows in like local Villages and stuff um and the guy that we had make the doors knew her yeah um he recommended her cuz I don’t really know where you’d go to be honest I mean there’s probably people online but we’re so happy with them I

Adds something to our living room uh when you started cruising uh how handy were you with engines and engines and dii um I would say moderate to begin with I wasn’t too bad by the by the the time we bought the boat I had already converted a sprinter into a van then we

Traveled Europe for six months yeah um so I KN learned about 12v electrics inverters solar and all that on that and then just scaled up a little bit on this yeah definitely was a test DIY on this first time really working with this much Woodwork and stuff all the tongue and

Groove and plywood install in a fire but learned a lot of it as I went there’s so many good videos on YouTube not ours like genuine guides just learn from them I don’t think I would obviously know what to do but I think you doing the van definitely made you feel more confident

With this it was just a wider longer L wasn’t it but like when you were saying all these words to me before I didn’t really understand like what was 12v and why you need an inverter and all those things but I definitely get the hang of it now like I

Understand the importance of trying to have 12vt things or like charging things from that yeah um but yeah I think don’t let it put you off though I think anyone could do it you’ve just got to be willing to give stuff a go haven’t you and loads of people are so kind and

Helpful like so many people on the toe path will stop what they’re doing to come and help you you know it’s a really nice Community uh how much have uh how much have you had to self teach to be able to maintain your boat um I gu that’s fairly

Similar um but again just watching YouTube guides and stuff the boat’s obviously a much older engine than our van had so there like um yeah it’s just old school so it’s learning the older ways that engines work with glow plugs and stuff well the new diesel engines

Have that but the fact I could change them on this um yeah all selftaught really yeah do you suffer from engine breakdown anxiety I did when it started breaking down in um London it does feel like a distant memory now I know it could absolutely happen at any point but

Yeah it’s not something I really worry about on a day-to-day Cruise now no I wouldn’t say so I’m always looking at the temperature gauge um always temperature gauge and that was the main problem though wasn’t it overheating yeah yeah yeah um what what do you make of your first

Somewhere nice and hot but as a whole like you said it’s been pretty mild like it’s 13 degrees over night not really winter is it yeah I thoroughly enjoy like Gathering drying burning firewood so I mean my element at the minute I think not having the car at the moment

As well was definitely a savior because having to cruise for a certain amount of time then having to go back and get the uh car whe that be walking cycling whatever that is um definitely adds another element which again going back to my work would be something that

I have to sort of factor in as if I have work then we need to make sure the car’s near so I have quite enjoyed not having that stress of the car for the past couple months whilst we’ve been in London it’s been quite nice yeah for

Sure and if you could start all over again what would you do differently I would potentially try and get the floor l which is almost impossible these older boats tend to have a shorter ceiling we’ve got quite a short ceiling for when friends our but if we’ve got any lanky

Friends then it can be a little bit of a squeeze um i’ say six just over six foot directly in the middle whereas some boats are like six foot three six yeah when we’ve been on other people’s boats now we realize that ours is quite short

I would say as well I love having a bath and I do not regret having the bath but we can’t stand up in it so when we have a shower is sort of sat down or Crouch down so if we could have put the bath more in the floor it’s almost

Impossible I was looking at the videos earlier I was looking back I was sort of reminiscing for our old videos and yeah it was really heartwarming but there other than the middle bits where we’ve got the um pantries there was a bit cut out but

I don’t think it where the bath was and that’s why we didn’t want to cut anymore out we were worried if it would like in the shape so I’m not I don’t think it would have been impossible but it would have took a bit more yeah consideration

To get one country won’t allow right-and drive cars in their country so you have to go around that one then there’s certain land borders you can’t um and then yeah I think you get a ferry from China to Korea and then from Korea to Japan and then tr’s back home we

Sorry so first one I’ve always always wanted to go to Antarctica that would be my absolute dream to go and also which you could tie this one inside with that I would love to do the Pan-American Highway either in a van we’ve watched a couple um recently they’ve just done the

Northern part so from Alaska down to Mexico and she’s from Mexico and they’ve just got to Chihuahua where her um family live I can’t remember their names but we watched them the other day they did they cycled and they she’d never been on a bike packing trip before and I

Just felt how I felt obviously their trips way more extra than ours was but yes just such a surreal feeling that I would love to do that whether that be in a in a van or in a car or CLE whatever that is I would love to do the

Pan-American Highway and then when you get down to hu then you could do Antarctica that would be my dream your trip that would be my dream we’ll start a crowdfunder yeah um has Vincent left the building yet and would will you I can’t read the end of

It uh will you impulse by another van the the answer is he hasn’t left the building and yes we probably will impulsively buy another van I would say yeah so one of my first jobs um in spring when the weather’s on the change is potentially paint Vincent we know

Fine yeah across to panamerican Highway probably although there was a guy who did that though wasn’t there he did actually um will you keep Lady Penny bun longterm or trade up or try full full-time van life um will we keep Lady Penny bu we sometimes we say toy with it most days

Yeah maybe we’ll keep her for a year maybe we’ll keep her for two years maybe w we won’t ever sell her it just depends on your mood really but at this moment in time we love her she’s going anywhere if we could the only thing initially

When we bought the boat this was going to be when we wanted to get rid of the boat and get a house this is going to be a lovely deposit yeah as we sell it and then move onto a house the longer we’ve kept it the longer the more we fell in

Love with cruising seeing seeing the world and we said the other day now we come to a new town we’re more up Danny visits all the charity shops within an hour and then we get bored and we’re like how are we going to buy a house if

Friend Ben’s boat earlier on um theirs is 60 foot ours is 50 foot like extra 10 foot you can actually get it added for about a, I am not letting you cut lady peny in half well I would do it kwood no no we’re not doing that show a piece of

Metal and then add in 10 foot and then I can have an office you can have a you don’t want it to you want it 57 to be able to go in all the 58 58 58 Foot eight foot going in so long term I think

Yeah we toy the idea often I think the fact that our family are in Summer Set and there isn’t too many canals there that we can go anywhere else it’s sort of if we wanted to move back there it does make a bit more difficult um but at

This current moment in time we would love to keep her there’s just too many features in here like my uncle helped your dad helped we designed the doors you know just all of these personal touches but never say never we really do we’re really open to whatever like life

Frows at us aren’t we yeah I think we’ve considered as well just because when we do go away traveling for a couple months at a time we got to pay for a marina yeah um which is an outgoing which ideally would have to pay um and there’s

Just so many like loopholes and stuff you got jumped through if you ever want to rent your boat out it’s just really difficult yeah and that’s something we thought we could do when we first bought the boat but it turn out it’s way more difficult um so yeah watch his space

Yeah I think we’ll keep it and then van van life full time fancy we’ve we’ve I mean we did it for six months I know that’s not full time but we did love it and we sold our van to pay for this boat so if we did do another van it would be

I would like another Sprinter yeah um and I would like to keep keep that for a really long time and you know like I said I’d love to do the Pan-American Highway I would love to potentially ship uh a van over to the states or to Canada or whever and then

Do like a big road trip I’ve also always wanted to do a schoolly um which would be perfect for the roads in America and Canada that brown one we’ seen yeah that was that was for anyone in America watching the that was a a Ford American school bus in brown so good

Arizona or somewhere yeah really nice field gorgeous so nice yeah I’d love to do a schoolie it’s just you need a different license and the roads around here I know people do have them but it’s just a bit more hard yeah and I think finding the parts would be

Difficult um how are you getting on with Danny’s ambition to do all European countries before the age of 30 where next how old do you now 27 so I’m 27 28 in June we are over halfway so it doesn’t sound like a lot but a lot of the countries obviously in Europe it’s

Not like in the states where it’s miles away like you could do like three or four countries in a trip yeah um so we’ve got a bit of a plan lined up we’re going to do hopefully four or five this year which I know is leaving it we’ve

Still got about I think there’s 22 left to do in two years yeah but three of them we probably can’t go to currently because of like politics but we can yeah we’re going to try and do five this year and then probably have to prioritize it a bit more next year

Um like I said like some of them are like Monaco leckstein and Andor Andora they’re like tiny tiny countries but I just want to go there so we’ll just maybe do like a quick road trip or yeah train journey or something just to tick them off but yeah they’re

Still very much high on my to-do list yeah uh is living on the inland waterways a long Venture for you or have you got other ideas about another adventure so it’s similar to the other one but what one thing I would say is we would love

To do a project on land a homestead a homestead yeah that would be long-term plan for us we don’t know when yeah some some days if you ask Danny if I asked Danny yesterday she would do it in a week’s time yeah I already found I live

And then it’s sold yeah I yeah like long ter like we’d love to keep this boat and we’d love to be able to do sort of maybe half the year on a boat half the year on the house or at least least keep the

Boat you know if we could you know if we if we really have an earning to go on is earning the right way earning if we really have like the draw to want to be on land or to do this Homestead you know we might have to make

Sacrifices with money but currently we we really would like to try and work out both wouldn’t we yeah um but yeah long-term plan nice big vegetable patch yeah that’s the one thing that’s really isn’t it umien a some runner ducks if any of you seen them they’re so

Cute uh so that ties in quite well on if you ever get a home will it be a project that you Vlog uh yeah we’ll film we’ll fil anything yeah put your request we film anything no we won’t no we you said that TI and nicely I put these in order

To it that this is blowing really well so yeah we would love to get we can’t ever see ourselves just buying like a new build or a house that we can like just move into we would love to buy sort of like an old ruin and do it up

Really I would say not sure where you know like I said our fames in Somerset that’s very much out of our budget and probably will be forever we’ve talked unfortunately gone from Scotland to Italy to Portugal to Sweden to anywhere where you can buy a nice house as in

Project with a bit of land couple of acres brexit’s really thrown that off for us as well we can’t three months it definely affects it we can’t if brexit didn’t happen we probably would have moved to Italy like a year ago I imagine wouldn’t we but yeah we’ve got to bear

In mind brexit and it’s just very it just makes it more complicated so but Scotland’s cheap um so maybe Scotland but I would love Sun uh that’s one for you for sure this is for both of us this is from boat time if you could pick up
