We have to start with a bit of Jurgen Club talk because nobody saw this coming literally nobody saw this coming apart from some random guy on Twitter or something who said yes I’m from the future and Jurgen klopp is going to announce he’s leaving Liverpool tomorrow

True it’s out there by the way we’ll find the Tweet um anyway I could not see this coming in a Million years he’s been there what nearly 10 years now he’s got to go down as one of Liverpool’s um most important managers most important managers is that fair to say um and I

Just yeah I couldn’t see it this is one of those moments I think sometimes in football you get a a little message or you see something you think no chance somebody’s made that up this is this is a massive problem I’m gonna come to you Robo first this is a massive problem for

Liverpool isn’t it um timing of it wise probably yes in the way that he’s done it and the way he’s in announced it but for Liverpool to move forward good timing in the fact that they’ve got now a couple of months to to find a replacement that’s suited to what kops

Created at Liverpool which he has he’s created a a winning mentality a great atmosphere a a connection with the fans so that next manager got to fit the whole bill of that in and be similar to what klopp’s um what he’s created we’re going to talk about like a

Successor in a minute all right because there’s loads of names getting thrown out there or anything but from my perspective I want to I I want to talk about what Liverpool like you say connection there I remember before Jurgen klopp took took over I’ve got a few mates who are Liverpool fans right

And they used to drive me crazy they would always moan about Liverpool we’re losing this they never really won anything this and then eventually they won the Champions League and it was like oh with the next and what Jurgen kppa has done is for me personally anyway

He’s taken that Liverpool team and he’s made them into somebody I want to watch you know what I mean if Liverpool won the Telly I want to watch them I want to see what they’re doing the goalkeeper especially I love watch anyway um but what state does he leave Liverpool in W

Um because they’ve had a little bit of a turnover in players over the last few years but it seems like they’re on the up again now doesn’t it yeah look he’s leaving him in an unbelievable place isn’t he we spoke about it last week he he’s done what Fergie did at man united

He’s actually gone and changed the team now he’s he’s built another team which is difficult to do what’s it called transition what’s it called transition period yeah he’s had a transition period certainly last year um but the signings they’ve made and when it’s all coming together like it is now I’m excited I

Like watching Liverpool play that they’re a proper Counterattack footballing team aren’t they you’ve they’ve got some unbelievable talent for sure but he’s he’s he’s turned Liverpool into a juggernaut hasn’t he they’re monsters now nobody wants to go to anfield and play them uh the crowd

Always play a big part but he’s got the whole thing rocking and it will be very very difficult to replace him for sure and I am surprised because he doesn’t look like he’d run out of steam on the sidelines he’s he’s the same guy but we

Know we’ve been in football all his life you know I don’t think you’re going to have the managers that can do a Fergie and a venger anymore I think to be at the top like he’s being at the top and to manage that team for nine years it

Takes a lot out of you yeah how much does this take out because I think a lot of people have have seen obviously the news with with klopp and said oh he’s burnt out he’s tired but like just why though why why exactly would a Jurgen klopp be burnt out entire because this

Comes into your personal life doesn’t it like if you’re a Manager of Liverpool a big club like man this takes over your life doesn’t it yeah and probably he’s got to that point where he’s had enough he probably he probably has like you say now and fair play to him because not a

Lot of managers do it where he’s come out and he said he’s run out of energy that’s a that’s a brave statement to make and and he’s missed his family time the amount of games that Liverpool play Not only in Europe but the domestic league as well they’re in all the cups

Con so he’s constantly traveling he’s never at home like the hours that they must be in at the training ground with the work that he does you can see it though that like the passion that he feeds on that touch line and you can imagine him being exactly the same

Around the training ground with staff like all the backro staff as well I can imagine him being that that one like you say on a Monday morning where things have not gone well he comes in he’s that energy he’s the one who’s got to drive it going again won’t he so you can

Understand why he’s making the decision because he probably has felt now it’s time for someone new to come in at Liverpool and take it Forward yeah and he needs a break he needs to have that break whereas his energy and his Comm to the football club’s been it’s been well

Class hasn’t it watch it’s as simple as that and if Liverpool go on and have the season that they want to have obviously they’re they’re in the running for everything still they could win the quadruple obviously not Champions League they’re in in in the Europa um but if

They go and win four trophies and then you’ve got to get a new manager to come in and follow that no pressure like obviously Javi Alonzo is the favorite at this moment in time and I think we’re all on the same page where it’s probably

A good fit right now isn’t it yeah he looks like like he he’s the man I mean he’s obviously very new into management himself um so he’s not got a massive track record behind him but what he’s doing is very positive he obviously knows Liverpool um and I think klopp

Wants to leave and and have a legacy he’s already left a legacy but I think in terms of the timing I think behind the scenes he said look Lads I’m I’m done I’m out of here all his staff are going to leave you know and it just

Shows you that it’s more than just him as well this the staff behind him proper people you proper coaches prop part of the foundation and they’re all going to leave um but actually that gives whoever comes in place because you know what it’s like in football you have

To have your own people around you because it’s a trust element as well you need them people around you but but they’re going to have to feed off what club leaves them and he going to leave them a fantastic football team whether the win for trophies or not whoever’s

Coming in to manage that team you’d like to have that opportunity because he’s you’re going to be managing some top top players well we speaking about Javy Alonzo he’s doing a fantastic job out in Germany at this moment in time Bay Leverkusen um I think they’re undefeated

Still start of the season after 19 games which is just absolutely incredible but I think from my perspective I think it’s just the most perfect time for Liverpool to give it to somebody like like Javy because um that they basically got re not really got a lot to lose have they

Every single you speak to any Liverpool fan they’ll all say we want Javi Alonzo as our next manager and if Liverpool go and do something different to that it’s almost like they’re making a rod for their own back aren’t they and I I think that whether they are a success with him

Or not they have to do this don’t they the next manager that goes in at Liverpool I what people have gotten that is going to be a tough job anyway as hard as man united a few years ago when Fergie Fergie left and give it to David

Moyes well yeah because like you say you’re replacing someone who’s consistently won stuff and and and the and like you say behind the scenes of what they’ve created as a manager and the staff like what who said there every one’s leaving there’s no one staying so

Now that new person and all of their staff together have got to try and not their own way but try and carry on with the good things that klopp’s done at the club so that’s that itself is going to be really hard and we talk about Alonzo

With what he’s doing at Leverkusen it for me it’s the perfect fit because he he had a great connection with the fans and I think if you’re looking down the roots of managers now they they got to try and find that connection with the the to get right behind them and like I

Say if if it is Alonzo and doesn’t go so well he’ll still have the full support of the Liverpool faithful because of because of what he did for them as a player and and what he’s done at lusm so they’ll give him that time and it every

Manager needs time klopp had time and look what he’s created now so the next manager is GNA he’s going to need exactly the same and it’s got to be the owners that have got to give him that as well as well yeah I think um I think

What we will do though is obviously wish Jurgen klopp for the best in the future I think it would good be good to see him still managing football somewhere in World football uh where he turns up we don’t don’t know just take a little break though take a little Bria recharge

Uh and the Premier League will certainly be a poor place without him as well I think that’s what we’ve got to say for it absolutely there’s a few managers sleeping easier at night now you’re not wrong you’re not wrong uh right uh I said it in the intro there um apparently

There’s rumors floating around Mikel Etta could be on his way out of Arsenal and into Barcelona Javi and we’ve got a lot of javies and jaies talking about this moment in time but Javi um announced that he is going to be leaving Barcelona at the end of the season uh

Which frees up a spot for new manager obviously Mela got some good connections with Barcelona anyway um is that something we can see happen in W look Barcelona is one of the biggest isn’t it if ever you’re going to leave the Premier League it’s a Barcelona isn’t it

It’s a real Madrid they they’re the ones that you get excited by I I remember my time at Southampton um speaking to Ronald kumman who obviously took me to Southampton and his driving force with the national team and somehow to get back to B Barcelona really as a manager

That’s how big it were for I think for anybody that’s played for him or come through their system it’s a it’s a juggernaut isn’t it you know what I mean and he wanted to do well in England to get an opportunity to either work with the national team or opportunity quick

Question lad is Barcelona the biggest Club football managerial job in the world not anymore club’s a mess that’s the problem what’s he got to win from it yeah yeah that the good thing for all probably artetta if he did go in there is that the way that they are at the

Moment so he could change that but for him to leave Arsenal I think he’s he’s trying to he’s trying to create something good at Arsenal with the way that they’re playing now at the moment they’re stable yeah they’re stable he’s trying to make he’s trying to move the

Team forward with the players he’s bringing in so for him to sort of go now would be quite strange but if he does go to Barcelona then the only way that you look at is that you actually will move them forward with the state that they’re

In at the moment yeah I think um I strip back the clubs and all this you I think if you look at it on paper I think mik L would be tempted by it I think he’d be tempted by he’s Spanish he he gets to move back home gets to manage obviously

As a as a as a Spaniard it’s probably unless he’s a real Madrid side of it’s the biggest thing that could possibly happen to you as manager so he has to have one eye on it going yeah this is this is a genuine if they’re offering

The job we don’t know it’s rumors yeah it’s all about timing isn’t it like whoever follows you’re getting a good team I I think if you go into Barcelona now they’re not the team that we’ve seen over the years there’s a lot of chaos behind the scenes

But the one thing I would say what I believe is happening in English football now at the very top level these managers who are in charge they seem to be getting full autonomy now so our Teta at Arsenal he’s got time but he’s running the whole show em Villa he’s now running

The whole show club running the whole and and I think that’s hard to walk away from when clubs are giving managers so much autonomy hey at man united you wouldn’t suggest it’s working properly but Arsenal with artetta he seems to be driving it forward in terms

Of everything would he get that time at Barcelona yeah I’m not I’m not so sure and look that I think the Premier League is by far and away the best league for sure but for somebody who can go back home as you said is Spanish if he’s a if

He’s a Barcelona man it’s the best job apart from what I said with Ronald you want to manage your national team or the biggest team in your country and and I think it will be tempting for him but what he’s creating at Arsenal I’m not sure he can do that straight away at

Barcelona and that’s where like you say if you’re arteta now you want guarantees that if you’re going to Barcelona then you’re getting that full control but is he going to get that that’s the question will he get I think the politics with Spanish football is different is

Different yeah yeah I think uh for one I don’t think Arsenal going to let him go and two um I think he’s just so secure in that job at Arsenal he’s so secure he’s got a clear pathway of what he wants to do and

Where he wants to go that is just such a tough one I’m sure there’s plenty of Arsenal fans that wouldn’t want him to go anyway um but we like I say at this moment in time it’s all just rumors uh we’re got to talk about the January

Transfer window Lads uh we are 29th of January today so how many days are in January lad 3 31 31 so we’ve got a couple days left of the January transfer window I’m sure there are going to be players up and down the country uh on the phone to their agent relentlessly

Trying to get that last move uh one person who I think who I think could be making his way to the Premier League um and we’d all love to see him as well I’m going to start with a goalkeeper Casper schmeichel Casper we want to see Casper schmeichel back in the Premier League

Don’t we why yeah very sad really that he left and uh leaving Lester like that and obviously they went they went down when they decided to change the goalie you don’t realize uh for somebody like him yes fantastic goalkeeper but what he does behind the scenes of a club and and

And all the work he were doing behind the scenes at Le and you lose them characters and and obviously Leicester suffered for it if he gets the move to Forest which looks potentially like it’s going to be on he’s going to get into that dressing room he’s a man of about

Town look they need a goalie Who’s going to keep the ball out the net for sure because obviously we we we’ve spoke about it on the show before that I don’t think they’ve got the greatest goalie at the minute uh and that’s no disect to uh

Turner but smich comes in he’s got all the experience in the world but he’ll make a big difference in the dressing room character personalities he’s been there with Lester over so many years he’s not going to be faced by the Premier League and actually Forest are going to need a

Couple of characters if they’re going to get out of it especially if they lose some points um are you Cas Michael’s agent by the way because that that was incredible it was that was inredible but I could be I could be I’ll be his agent now as well I really think he should

Come to the Premier League Casper Robert but how how important is it as a as a Defender how important is it to have that goalie behind you who you know you can rely on who you know is going to give you a seven out of 10 week in week

Out he’s like I say he’s a leader he’s a character fantastic goalkeeper stops the ball going the back of the how important is that to have that well we’ve been speaking about this over the last couple of weeks and we especially with like someone like an Anana for Man United and

The defense there is is for me Casper Michel was has proven over the years what a top class goalkeeper is and maybe KNX Forest defense need now someone like that behind them because as a Defender for me the most important thing is that I’ve got a vocal goalkeeper who can

Command his box but can keep us as a high line and I know that if the ball goes of head then he’s onto it and he’s covering the ground to come out are they are you seeing that with Turner at KNX Forest they look a bit Rocky they can

See Sloppy goals Casper smel for me would be he’d be the perfect replacement for that yeah he’s he’s a top goalkeeper yeah totally agree uh I think we’d all like to see Casper back in I want to see Casper booming the ball 100 yards down the pitch into the opposition yeah there

One thing as a coach I didn’t really like from him and I used to say to him every warm up I know you can kick it miles mate but when I’m warming up I don’t need you to kick it where I’m working I know you can kick it miles

Just do that later in the game yeah when I’m working just keep it away from me he’s up there with Edison for me honestly for like a one step just bang wall up and he was Landing I remember watching him Landing it on the edge of

My 18 yard Bo thinking this is just ridiculous it’s just absolutely ridiculous uh another move that’s already happened uh just a couple of days ago Calvin Phillips uh to West Ham this is a massive move for him isn’t it this is a massive move for him obviously

With the Euros in the summer um not getting any game time at Man City really um for him and for West Ham this is this is just absolutely perfect isn’t it it’s an interesting one cuz James PR is there oh and it’s someone that I want in the

England squad cuz I like him does that allow James wpr now to play a little bit higher up the pitch cuz he’s that he is that more of a creative player Calvin Phillips will come in and I think it’s a good move by West Ham because they’ve

Lost Declan rice so they’ve never really got that type of player like for like because of what Calvin can do and I think like you saying now the EUR Ros is around the corner he needs to be playing football it’s a great move for him getting the game time but it’s it’s an

Interesting one because like you say James W PR there it’s that’s going to be an interesting one for me well we’ll see how that Dynamic works out somebody who does know James wpr really well actually is the man next year Dave Watson obviously spent a lot of time at

Southampton with James um is HE capable pry of sort of making that step just a little bit further up the pitch yeah look he’s a great footballer I I think he can play higher he’s got a range of passing and uh he can be clever with his

Passing so if he can add more goals to his game in open Play then he’s is’s pushing his game forward to another level I think knowing him personally look you don’t get affected by signings or all the fluff that goes around it but it’s it’ll be a tough one for him CU he

Knows Phillips is going to make their team better but actually him getting game time is going to make it more difficult for pry to get in that England squad for sure because he can’t really have done much more than what he’s done this season and he’s still not really

Knocking on the door if Phillips comes in and gets a lot of time at West Ham uh obviously GTH for whatever reason he seems to be his man more so than pry so I think it it’ll be tough for pry but all pry can do is play football Al he

Plays football he can’t do any more than that um but Phillips getting game time at West Ham is is virtually giving him the uh green light to go and be in the Euros next summer I think I think to be honest you pry I think he just needs to

Not even worry about England it’s pretty obvious he probably accepted it now as I mean he pretty obvious that he’s not going to be getting selected into the squads into the Euros so just enjoy playing your football when the international breaks come around pry get yourself off to Dubai have a little

Practice the golf practice go five six days in Dubai get on that short game boom sweet as a nut that’s what you need to look forward to and finally Aaron Ram I’m going to come to you goalkeeper talk again Aaron ramsdale um obviously found his as second choice goalkeeper at

Arsenal um is this last couple of days is it is it going to be possible or do you think it’s just so set in stone now that ARS have dug the heels in and said no you are not going to be going out anywhere because if you do go anywhere

You’re going to improve our Rivals yeah I I think he’s he’s kind of stuck on the beach you know what I mean he he’s not going to be moving I think uh Etta we talked about the power he’s got and we saw that when he brings ryer in he’s the

Manager they’re backing him but they’re not going to let ramsdale go in this window because if something happened they’re just giving the the title away because they need two quality goalies but ramsdale for his own sanity needs to play to get anywhere near that England squad you know there’s

So many English goalies now performing at the best level playing in the Premier League it’s going to be difficult for him if he’s sat on the bench for for the next six months which it looks like he’s going to be but Southgate kind of sticks

With his guys so look I I don’t think anybody’s taking pigford’s shirt I think he’s the number one for sure um ramsdale phenomenal goalie and probably deserves more caps than what he’s got but he’s not going to get get a shot for the England team and then you’re looking

Who’s going to be third choice to to be perfect what’s that like Robert how well sorry how how sorry do you feel for an ARS though because like I said none of this is by his own sort of doing really he’s always performed really really well when he’s played for Arsenal

Finds himself as a second choice not going to be allowed to go out Al loan and play football which is all he wants to do basically so like an arar ramsdale you can see he’s just he’s a match goalie isn’t he he just wants to be there on a Saturday afternoon playing

Football and he’s not being given that opportunity how frustrating is that it’s frustrating and at the end it’s ARA’s decision isn’t it with who he’s picking yes Rey’s come in and for me I I personally prefer ramale to Rea not quite convinced on him I know is good

With his feet and that but from when you watch him crosses coming in the Box he makes a hell of a lot of mistakes compared to what ramsdale does so I think again the transfer window of the JY one I’m not a big lover of that either I just feel like that’s just

That’s a panic panic window that one and no I think ramsdale should just stay yes he knows the situation but he’s a top goalkeeper and I do think if he if he gets in the team again next then he’ll stay in there yeah because he he is a

Top class goalkeeper yeah I think I I’m got it for him I am I’m absolutely got for him but it’s horrible isn’t it we we we have like you said we’ve all been there where you get frustrated as a player but deep down you know you get opportunity you’re taking it and you’re

Going to stay in the team and then the next time the manager makes that decision then as a player you know then that maybe you’re Ed up at that club and you need to move on and and go and play somewhere else I think end of the season

We’re going to see a move from from Rambo anyway but yeah for for this I just feel so bad like say he’s he’s a match goalie aronz and he wants to be there on a Saturday afternoon that’s what he’s that’s what he’s made for do

You know what I mean he’s all the other stuff around the siid doesn’t really affect him doesn’t bother him he just wants to be there doing his job on Saturday afternoon and he deserves to be doing it he deserves to be playing in the Premier League I love I love David

Ry I think he’s a very good goalkeeper as well um it’s just a shame that they’re both happen to be at the same football club um but yeah like I say it’s a shame for Rambo I don’t think he’s going to get moved but end of the

Season want to see you getting out and playing first team football again it’s very difficult you know yourself you work all week towards the Saturday afternoon and don’t matter what position you play the the the working week is just a phase everybody comes alive match day it’s very difficult for him to work

All week and not have that carrot at the end of it and he seems frustrated for sure but everybody wants to play and not everybody can play at the big teams but look he’s he’s got the Euros I hope gareth’s pH him and kind of give him a

Little bit of insurance because it doesn’t look like he’s going to get his move uh and the level of goal he is he deserves to be in the England squad for sure and it’s not his fault obviously he’s not playing um I want to have a

Little talk Lads about um this kind of um new it’s not like a new rule but it’s like it’s almost the way that being a foul on a goalkeeper is viewed so I want to I want to talk about the Tottenham goal basically on Friday night in the FA

Cup about against man city um personally I don’t think it was a foul I don’t think that Vicario was sort of nudged or any I think the play is just doing his job and standing there um but I want to break it down into a little bit more

Detail because as a goalie coach as a as a as a coach now and a former player um obviously you’re a former player what I can’t remember I can’t remember that bit mate yeah you’re right it’s that long ago I can’t remember to be a player as well didn’t you I think

So I think so well well I want to talk about that in particular that goal okay so um Vicario is getting manm marked on the corner um who’s who’s sort of whose job is that there to to not let him just be taken out of the game by one player

Just standing on him well I think it’s the sou the sa’s wrong I don’t think it’s fou either I just think Diaz just stood his ground and vicario’s tried to come over the top of him no need to really because of the position he’s in but why is Tottenham not got a defender

In front of that trying to pull him away trying to just protect him like yeah as as a Defender for me right I know the goal is there we’ll have the player in between but that will be where the goalkeeper wants the defender so if I know that that Ball’s coming into that

Area all the time I’m just heading that clear so what I didn’t quite understand was I didn’t quite understand Tottenham set up from that set piece I couldn’t quite work out why a Defender was not in front marking that little bit of an area in front of them if if you’re if you’re
