Tour to The Tour – Crossing The Pyrenees in Ten Days

Tour to The Tour, the film. Last summer we biked across the Pyrenees and watched 3 stages of the Tour de France. Alex was loaded up on the ebike with camera gear, laptop, drone and more. I carried the Gopro follow-film gear, and Taylor traveled ultra light. Our bike check videos are listed below. We rode all day and edited all night and managed to have the time of our lives.

We now we’re going to start riding into the pines and we’ve got this beautiful San Sebastian weather woo beautiful San Sebastian having a Time of Your Life Great not a bad view hey buddy sending into France into a filthy filthy Descent super super wet descent first little town in France CI in the background there looks pretty daunting weather looks gnarly Too I think this is what we wanted steep marrow climbs for real it feels like we’re in the Pines now this is uh hurting yeah husi conquered took us everything we had [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] w Yeah first Time Oh the fight thank you for clearing the road clear a to the FR staff good Guy we’re up here on top of a coldest today and we’re about to bomb down the other side into a r this is the exact route the TOA France is going to take on [Applause] And there goes the [Applause] [Applause] visibility hello the [Applause] clouds [Applause] got about all this weight on the back oh yellow bike So good lot of Candy Lot of old abandoned buildings out [Applause] Here Oh look at this you love to see [Applause] It Racing to town oh my God that might be the deepest I’ve seen him go that was hard rest day tomorrow look how many Camp are already up here this is definitely the busiest Mountain climb we’ve seen so far been coming up all day yeah this is going to be an exciting one to

Watch up of the Marie Blanc heading down towards Lun this is the final Descent of stage 5 to Branch 2023 Hey That was good what a Day we are in the dream at the top of the CYS dog’s hurting [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] oh [Applause] [Applause] A [Applause] he [Applause] I guess we’re going to go and join the melee join the traffic make our way to LS probably half of these people are going there it’s the biggest town in the area so um yeah a little bit of ker style you guys ready to Lane split [Applause] You This is the main uh part of the tour that we came to see the Talay I think it’s the most used climb in the tour right I think over 80 times since 1920 a lot of history and it’s just a cool experience to actually be here and then

To be here while the tour is on is like biggest and best thing I’ve ever done in cycling for Sure Little disappointing the uh cop up here won’t let us ride the last K even though the cameran’s 25 minutes away a lot of upset cyclists couldn’t finish the tourmalet you know [Applause] [Applause] over an hour before the race comes through everyone’s going absolutely nuts already so it’s got to be complete

Pandemonium when the Riders come through [Applause] down of here old friends [Applause] he come [Applause] on oh so that’s exactly what we hoped for that’s why we were on the tourmalet on bad for a first tour how how was that that was absolutely insane the boys are still banging the drums the Mist has come up just after

The ride has come through pretty crazy uh timing on the weather there doesn’t get any more epic than this I think everyone’s uh just full of a joy and happiness really yeah we’re going to eventually get down this descent very slowly on bik but uh way To Speeech Between the Gap top of the Parisod not bad not too [Applause] Bad I’ve been walking around waiting for you to shine love people passing me by does it feel like I Bel know trying to keep it alive on on side for better confir for station I Can Feel Love real love you Try if you wa to just come me this should feel no more Li see tream You On side told I’ve been walking around trying to catch you my Eyes we just bombed the Perry sword that was a lot of fun but now we’re back to climbing we’ve got the POR ballet P Bale P Bales por Bales one of those one of those maybe it’s one of the fastest climbers outside of the tour that I’ve

Seen on this trip what does an elite athlete Eat Woo Another call conquered on this trip oh twist and turns down Here [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] Final climb of the day it’s only a baby 1K it’s been a killer day been waiting for a toilet for about 4 hours so it’s uh full gas to the Accommodation good morning good morning just a little message to say that we are now halfway through our riding on the tour to the tour become the tour away from the tour so we head into the central jines we’ve been going crazy the last 2 weeks with uh editing till 2: a.m. and

Waking up early and doing it on repeat so the next couple of days we’re going to sign off from Vlog life and just enjoy the beauty of the mountains and I will uh take you along Journey hopefully you guys can enjoy the Serenity and the glory of the Pyrenees

With us sign back on in a couple days as we head into Barcelona enjoy guys we Will That’s [Applause] See you at the Top give a little push this is the uh dump truck of the tour the uh Scott soless gravel 10 this is what’s been bringing you all the films for the trip so far um going to be bombing down this [Applause] [Applause] descent gold you Soul s your in [Applause] Soul to you and go I think that was pretty good beautiful Beautiful climb we just did C de la cor looks really flowy a couple of tight hair pins here and there but um I’m really looking forward to this one it’s been the perfect day of riding this is our final descent let’s go flow Taylor all this extra weight on the back

When you hit a bit of a bumpy section it really bounces more [Applause] Waterfall look at This [Applause] [Applause] Yeah [Applause] [Applause] Oh How good is This [Applause] Little bumpy on this road not it’s quite as simple as it looks but it ain’t the worst really narrow here oh and it drops into a hair pin what the gravel there on the Outside Inside every side yce oh look at that what a line C made to hold you

In we’re at the top of the C dep Port somewhere in the middle of the Pyrenees pretty shallow grade 5 6% going into a headwind there going to be a bit of pedaling for this one got a s fall falling with the chest Cam [Applause] n reel [Applause] neighborhood descending we’re somewhere in France there’s a town called AXA thms down there that’s 10K 7% super twisty it’s rock and roll t, 1400 m above sea Level construction see if we get lucky we New Road surface might be a little little too new to be good oh pretty [Applause] buttery [Applause] Off Another one get your hot right up there just with those cars and these super tuor on them yeah the Vlog life is back we’re just rolling out of AXA thurms this is day what Taylor day eight day 8 of 10 I dunked myself in that River last night

And it was glorious we’re just going to pick up our special guest for the next couple days wanito how’s it going morning we’re here with tart Juan tiado a friend from Colombia’s living in Barcelona I met many many years ago cool to have a extra friend with us so we’re

On km 0 I’d say 35 km climb with 1,600 M of climbing straight out the door yeah today’s uh the longest climb of the trip getting to the high point in [Applause] Dora finally made it to start of vandora hour and 40 minutes climbing we’re going to PP some water here and keep going right up to the top [Applause] I can to fly yes I’m dancing I’m dancing I can to fly yes I’m Dan B step out his Miser straight into ecstasy they feeling right now step out loneliness R into high and a feel right now and I want you know I want you I can Le to fly yes Dan

Dan I can to fly yes I’m dancing I’m dancing then right with in Hills of C boots yes we got right now it’s Tru welcome to the top of the C de ordino very twisty looking one lots of switchbacks looks really smooth uh it’s going to be a lot of fun time to go all [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] Right [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] Oh [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] Aome Huh you think it’s fine yeah oh yeah it was good Legion of Los Angeles yeah that’s unbelievable week you go wind down you’re back on nice to meet you not a bad road to Start so we just climbed 16ks one of the nicest climbs we’ve done on the whole trip was really unexpected we’re going to film a little training ride down here just cuz uh the road’s so Good All right cool looking thing on the point we just not see that we’re from that’s so [Applause] Cool our second major climb of the day this one’s AK 5% we are at the top of the cold Deport we’re going to be descending for a little over 20k Road’s pretty narrow looks like no Center Line so we’re going to keep this one pretty safe hope hopefully some some smooth tarmac it

Hasn’t been too bad on the way Up I’m telling you all I know hearing me he coming through what I Think I’m asking you to listen up maybe understand it’s all I have to give you it’s my [Applause] [Applause] Happ Le in you all I’m done that means Everything it sing Happy Tapping the sound of my voice the sound mying are you hear [Applause] me are you hearing Me are you hearing Me are you hearing me are you hearing [Applause] me are you hearing [Applause] me almost done for the day we’re out of water there’s nothing out here it’s very desolate so we just hammered up the last 5K climb you can do anything for 5Ks so I’ve said uh yeah

Bit of a smash Fest today average speed about 26k an hour a bad for uh being loaded up Final 10ks in the burger yeah let’s get going before I dive dehydration let’s Rock it up it’s not loud enough turn it up so everyone can hear it turn it up Bing here it up it up it’s time for the last give it up fast is in the P enough to just lay that feeling s turn it up so loud that you can’t take it turn

It up it till the wall start shaking T it up till the winds St break it turn it Up turn it Up there she is there [Applause] Go turn it up turn it up get your feet up on the ground it up it all around it up it’s no good in turn it out it out so Loud Up fairly old town build the new ones with SS this narrow we have arrived we’re done City to Nice final day day 10 We have uh hit the jackpot in Spain again two days in a row Catal such a killer Road quiet great views perfect surface lots of bends gentle gradient Winner what a final day this is turning out to be old down hill and the uphills kind of feel like a downhill this is a very nice gentle Cruis in to cap up the trip we’re going to put on a helmet cam and get the whole team cruising down the

Back side of this descent I’m uh kind of getting sad it’s coming to an end it’s been so good every Day As time goes By the Dr on the blue time goes by as time goes by I’m a blink over night in the Sunshine I’m a stranger call Snap [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] EMP drag [Applause] race not sure we’re supposed to be going down this road but this is the route so we stick to the carries we’re just out of man Raa while we’re getting out of there trying to one of the big cities before Barcelona getting ever closer wish us luck we’re in the uh

Interesting part of [Applause] town Chop Chop Chop on the last climb average 290 so far getting it Done Ouch look at That that view wow yeah look at that we’re going to uh sign off here we’re going to cruise down into Barcelona and uh yeah we’ll finish out the ocean but yeah thanks for following along everyone that was a hallowen Experience Co baby
