145 Alive – Net Control

My fourth attempt at a 145 Alive event here in the UK. You can see my previous exploits in the videos below. This time I am running a net as I did late last year. Very windy day, but a good day overall…

Hi and welcome to the channel uh we’re on uh on what is known as the tank Road there’s a tank sign just come past uh this uh is a 145 alive event de it’s late January 24 my last go was uh in September uh you can see it’s a bit

Cloudy but it’s meant to be dry uh we’re working our way up Wiley Deale uh to my usual uh portable contest in spot uh high on a ridge and I’ve had uh three previous goes 145 alive um there’s another tank sign coming up with a tripod stay steady there we go um three

Of the go first goore was in January uh and I was weathered off I got set up and uh there was static hail snow you name it it was awful so couldn’t operate second go I had a a Chase of Nets as I called it all these are recorded on the

Channel if you want to look back uh I brought a yagi up and tried to contact as many Nets as I could uh and I got eight uh last going September was me actually running a net for the first time uh which went well U so doing that

Again this time so we’re heading up the deal uh we’re just going to drop down now and then we’ll start climbing again and uh we’ll uh we’ll get set up and uh see how we get on well we’ve arrived it’s uh dry but it’s a bit Bluey uh the trouble is with

This location it gets the wind St up the deal uh so I’ll get set up and uh give you a a quick station tour uh once I’m set up right so time for a voice over the the window is just too strong to to record outside so here we have the

Station it’s a a diamond X300 cor Linea very low massud to the wind uh so about three and a half meters up uh double guide uh just to to keep it tight the the pitches don’t do this Justice it was absolutely uh blowing a Gil uh I’m

Running uh the generator I’ve put it under a tent just in case it rains uh I could run batteries but uh the the generator uh makes it very very straightforward U so uh blowing a gale see we are inside it’s blowing a gale outside uh bit of wind noise off

That window where Cable’s coming through uh quick station two it won’t take long uh ts2000 we’re going to run 100 wats I’ve just brought the meter just to check everything’s okay which it is uh power supply down there uh and that’s it really uh manual log a little note of

Where everybody is that’s me there um so pretty low Tech um and hopefully uh the X300 is okay in that wind and the rain doesn’t come but it’s uh blowing absolute Gale as you saw uh um car shaking it was nearly a noo uh trying to
