Very occasionally, we might even be lucky enough to find an NIFC (“Not Intended For Circulation”).

    Definitives
    ———————————-
We’re interested in definitive designs which are either of low mintage or shouldn’t be in our change. Britannia was the definitive design from 1997-2008 and Shield is the definitive design from 2008 onwards.

For Britannia, 2008 is a lower minted year which some people keep. Any year after 2008 would be an NIFC.

For Shield, 2009-11, 2016, 2018, and 2021 are NIFC years, while 2017 is a lower minted year. There’s also a 2022 shield (tooth-fairy) which has a privy mark on the reverse.

    What Else?

Hello welcome back to the channel for another coin hunt today we have £250 of50 piece to have a hunt through this bag was sealed on the 25th of October 2023 and I can tell from the sort code that it’s from Folkston in Kent so it’s with some trepidation that I’m going to

Open this one up so the last time we had a bag from there we really didn’t have a very good hunt at all okay without further Ado let’s get this bag opened up and see what we can find and while that bag’s being opened up let’s have a quick look at the book

To see which designs were still after on page one Q Gardens the rarest fit 50p in circulation page two is complete on page three we need three Olympics Judo shooting and Taekwondo and then after that we have everything up to an including the king’s coronation and in the first bag we do

Have a find is girl guiding from 2010 or at least it should be from 20110 let’s check the obverse here 2010 it is this is one of the ones that was restruck in 2019 for The Collector sets to celebrate 50 years of the 50p so shouldn’t find

One of those in your change keep an eye out for them nice we here we’re back in the finds we’ got Benjamin bunny so this is the most common commemorative 50p just worth checking for rotation errors on this one and the queen should look to the right

There 3:00 just like that that’s correct so that one will get signed and sent out for someone to find and here we got something 50 P so this is going to be Q Gardens which uh would be really quite something WWF for more than likely Glasgow Commonwealth Games

Glasgow Commonwealth Games it is that one’s not a keeper it’s another find 201650 so this could be something really good it’s Mrs Tiggy Winkle that’s the only one from 2016 I don’t keep and there we have squirrel nutkin also from 2016 and that one is a low

Tier keeper so already these uh bags are offering up a lot more than the previous hunt I was referring to if you do want to check that hunt out um I did upload it uh but I posted it on my Community page uh so if you’re a hardcore coin

Hunting fan and you want to watch me sifting through coins and finding nothing that’s the place to Go here we have Johnson’s dictionary that’s a very common One oh nice here we have an EU stars from 1998 very happy to see that that’s another keeper and a pride from 2022 and here we have the Victoria Cross heroic ax as I drop a bunch of coins onto the table there so this one again was restruck in 2019 so just turn it over have a look at the obverse 2006 that’s the original circulating version And there’s another Pride to start that bag Off and another dictionary my apologies about that everyone uh my my phone decided just to stop recording randomly as I was in the middle of that bag there wasn’t anything else in there so uh seem have got it back and recording again so we’ll uh carry on with the hunt it’s the second

Time that’s happened fairly recently um I’ve been having an increasing number of technical issues with my local setup here trying to record these of course I’m a very small Channel and uh I’m trying to do everything on a shoe string so um lighting recording quality the the the sound quality everything like that

Uh it’s becoming quite tricky to uh keep to a decent standard that’s another dictionary of course the the channel doesn’t generate any the income and that that was never really the the point of it oh there we have a VC Awards haven’t seen that one today another one that was

Restruck in 2019 that’s 2006 so that’s the sister coin to the heroic axe that we found a short while ago when my phone was behaving oh we’ve got a slew of commemoratives in here we have a 2017 50 P pointy bit up Peter Rabbit very nice so that’s the second most common

Commemorative 50p after the Benjamin bunny um so yeah trying to do everything on a Sho string and things are slowly falling apart um another dictionary goodness me lots of common finds today uh so I do apologize uh that that’s been happening and we’re going to finish that bag off with a Christopher

Ironside 7 million is the mintage figure on that one Speaking of small channels um that does lead me quite nicely into a very exciting announcement ah we have a Scouts another one that was restruck in 2019 2007 uh so I’m partnering up with a number of other small channels uh all

The channels have less than a thousand subscribers and uh many thanks to Mack and Muller and M Collex who have organized the event so on the 23rd of December there about 12 channels I mean this is perhaps subject to change but what I’m telling uh telling you now is

Uh accurate as I Know It uh I think about 12 fairly small YouTuber channels all going to come together and we’re going to do A Christmas Carol event extremely exciting so the idea is and um I’ll post the the rules and and everything else uh closer to the time

And during the hunt itself but uh the idea is that we’re all going to post a 50p hunt and uh if you decide that you want to you can watch all of those hunts and we will do some scoring based on the coins that we find and we

Will also give a special code word and if you watch 10 I hope there’s more than 10 in there10 yeah 10 10 P might be better not 10 coins um yeah if you watch all the videos and you note down the the code word and the score that we say that

We’ve got uh you can enter into a prize draw and the prize will be a Christmas carol Buu set which is really nice uh and also a signed Benjamin bunny coin from each of the coin tuber channels taking part there is a Tom kitten from 2017 haven’t seen him yet

Today so it’s going to be a really great event and I thoroughly encourage you all if you enjoy watching uh coin HP videos to spare some time and go around and watch all the different Channels it’s going to be a lot of fun diversity diversity we find this one more than any other 50p or commemorative 50p I should say it’s like an old friend it’s a very strange hunt on this channel if we don’t see a diversity a very nice and that said Mr

Jeremy Fisher so that is also from 2017 I’m just going to have have a quick look at all the other finds that we have I think that might have completed the 2017 set yes it has we’ve got Jeremy Fisher Tom kitten Tale of Peter Rabbit and a

Benjamin Bunny not that an UNC commmon achievement but uh nice to do nonetheless another girl guiding let’s see 2010 2010 Another glasgo commonwealth games a lot of these coins are really grainy it’s like they’ve come from the amusement machines at the seaside or something they’ve got coating all over them quite horrible to hunt through to be honest another heroic ax 2006 got another Pride coming up there we go

This is the last bag of the hunt oh wow on the last bag we have a star find definitely AR saver it’s flopsy Bunny and it’s in really good condition it’s not like the grainy ones I’ve been hunting through wow so that is a top 10 find for sure uh absolutely

Brilliant 2018 Potters are very nice finds indeed Jeremy fiser Again okay I’m going to double check all the coins now and make sure I didn’t miss anything the first time round and I’ll post back in a few seconds with what I find okay I finished checking all the coins and I didn’t find anything else of

Interest I think the best finds from the hunt have to be on this bottom row here we’ve got the squirrel nutkin the EU stars and by far and away for me the best find has to be this flopsy bunny what an absolute cracker that one is thank you very much for watching as

Always if you enjoyed the hunt please do hit the Thumbs Up And subscribe and I’ll see you next time for another coin Hunt
