Hello, I’m Matt. I’m a Documentary Journalism master’s student at Nottingham Trent. And today you’re going to be joining me as we go on a day in the life of a master’s student. And I’m sure you haven’t noticed, but I’m actually a mature student.

So for anyone watching who is considering going back into education, I’m here to reassure you that that culture shock of becoming a student again is nothing to be afraid of. The first thing I do is park my bike in NTU’s free, secure bicycle parking. And today we’re in the centre of broadcast journalism’s

Fully functional TV studio learning how to do just about everything. As you can see, the facilities are amazing. The technicians are all really friendly and knowledgeable and the equipment is all industry standard. So I had to go with the camera, with reading the autocue, with directing, with vision mixing.

I can basically run a TV channel now. After that, it’s lunchtime. There are plenty of places on campus to buy food, but I tend to bring in my own and then it’s time for a bit of independent study. I like to head up to the third floor of the library

Because there is a space there just for master’s students. So I’m ending my day here in the voiceover booth in the CBJ just another one of the fantastic facilities that we’ve got access to because I need to get the voiceover done for this video, which you’ve just heard and watched, presumably

Unless you skipped straight to the end, which is strange behavior, but I hope that was informative. I hope you have an insight into the day in the life of a master’s student, and if you’re interested, head over to the Nottingham Trent website, book yourself onto a postgraduate open event

And come along and see what it’s like for yourself. Alright. Goodbye.
