Hey Riders, We have the Muckers and friends at it again! It’s the Tuesday Night race and we will be watching Stage 4 of the Tour Down Under at Ashbourne. So many of the regular riders, this group are super committed to racing, and it’s so fun to be able to tag along.

Lots of random ramblings about varied topics in this one, but I did manage to keep a close eye on the race action. I have to say as well that some of the best racing to me was back in the pack. Riders absolutely flogging themselves sprinting for whatever random place, just the best thing to watch.

Anyway here we go folks, strap yourselves in it’s race time!!!!!
PS Best battle of the day, for me IMHO, was in the middle of the pack. Around 40th position…..

Hey Riders flying by the seat on my pants here yep marcker Tuesday race I was going to say noon but it’s night time in the UK that’s where the race is staged out of by uh muckers worldwide hey I just jumped on here I kind of lost track

Of time I did a ride this morning and was doing some research on it uh really cool stuff so I’ll be throwing that one out in a couple days thought it was 11:32 but it’s at 11:52 so yeah really scrambling here so what we’re doing today is tour down

Under 2024 this is stage 4 Ashburn 35 km long with 332 M of climbing I did take a look at the profile on this one last night hey let’s just take a look here 131 people registered for this baby that’s the kind of pull that muckers has uh really well

Organized and a lot of committed Riders we’re just going to wait for the uh watch button to pop up before us yeah so this one here just kind of looks you know rolly nothing major along the way one small climb 141 now registered people are just jumping into this

Guy uh so there’s a chance that someone could get away on that Hill you know um but I don’t think it’s a tough enough Hill to really blow the field apart we will have some people scatter all over the place just due to the fact that some

People on these Tuesday races are just riding you know Zone rides heart rate zone rides maybe power rides and then there’ll be a few that are just going all out so here’s the watch button let’s do this let’s get loaded in I’ll take a look at the uh the profile right

Away yeah here we go g Kenzie saw them in the last race it’s so so fascinating to me now to see all these names I’ve seen before and I got to say the muckers group has been so uh friendly reaching out to me uh through my YouTube

Channel um some have jumped into the Discord to say hi I’m just going to pop my way to the front here oh we got nice and bright there didn’t it number one place wyverns Gil Mato see hinsberg in there Carol these are like the the usuals up at the front

Uh there’s a rider here called SP I haven’t seen this name before so let’s see what kind of R so if you look at the profile on the bottom here yeah this is just flat to barely false flat I mean yeah let’s just say this is flat now 0.7% but yeah I guess

It gets false flat and you know you’re probably going to talk false flat out to kilometer it looks like kilometer 22 or something maybe 20 oop someone just broke down there on the road looks like that was SP uh let’s get back to the front we’re

Just going to chill here for a bit so there is a little bump after the first split that’ll be the first little test for people’s legs but that looks like it’s 5 or 6% to me uh coming out to say kilometer 20 we will start the climb but

We only have 328 M of climbing to go so could there be a solo Breakaway to get over the hill first and just run for the Border possible but I think these people at the front end they’re pretty serious Racers so up at the front right now we

Got Gil mtio at pel uh sp’s moving again okay so they had a quick disconnect Carol susik I see someone here called Andy ammo wyverns all the usuals hensbergen the usuals grep gp’s further up today I believe gp’s hanging with his fast Bunch going to move our way back here

Eleno 79s there they were in the last race as well right the front Luca uh here’s Diego daady doing their thing Mike Ginger just a lot of names I know here’s Tom I kept last week I kept saying Tom larier could be totally wrong about that

Just what her name is Neil Brenham that was uh my standout Rider last week on screen right now we have and I kept saying the name wrong but uh I got a little tip it’s groon love it groan I hope I’m saying that rights uh Formula 1 driver Roman Roma

Gron uh that’s when I used to love Formula 1 let’s just take a little Side Story here so in 2012 I attended the Silverstone Formula 1 race in England probably one of the best trips of my life I was actually born just outside of Newcastle uh I was born in outh I only

Spent about 5 years in England before I immigrated to Canada and I’d never ever been back so followed Formula 1 since the mid90s you know we’ve had our Canadian Champion uh you know know Damon Hill all those people Mansel uh Mah Hainan all my favorites and so I’ve been following a long time

We went to the 2012 formul we flew into England for 3 Days uh I guess maybe three and a half we flew in on a Thursday and we were gone by the Sunday uh pretty insane just a great trip we stayed right at Silverstone in this little tiny

Camper you know AKA AAR van as they called them in the UK uh was kind of a death box really three large grown men slammed inside a 14t caravan like single axle those things don’t even exist here like people drive around like double and triple axle

Trailers here but what an event I loved it and I did make a comment to someone before that’s when Formula 1 sounded it still sounded good maybe not the best but it sounded so awesome that if you were anywhere near the track your eard drums just got blown right out

And I just absolutely loved it what a cool EV event uh oh what do we eat every day bacon oh bacon baguettes that’s what they’d always say a bacon baguette which is basically slabs of bacon on like a Subway sandwich bread smeared in butter and then you would put like a brown

Sauce on it went to this crazy disco at night uh it was called The Bulge Disco so if you’ve ever been to Silverstone oh you would make my day if you said you remember the Bulge disco uh we were like an audity there the three of us just stood out uh to all

The locals we did what the locals did there uh hanging out in the beer gardens the muddy campgrounds it was a disaster at times so much fun I’d love to go back turn the noise up on those cars please I Don’t Like These Quiet turbo cars I want

Eardrums I want eardrum damage no no one ever says listen to how quiet my car is no one has ever said that and if they do well unfriend me because I like loud cars I like 21,000 RPM Formula 1 cars enough of my ramble enough of my

Rant let’s get back to the race sorry folks uh just thinking about you know that’s a long time ago now that’s 12 years ago that happened so we’re currently on Gran we’re going to move our way back through the field here this front group’s just hammered right now I’ve

Been told too that uh a lot of times on these Tuesday night mucker rides people will be riding in groups to certain powers so you may see groups off the back that are five minutes behind everyone else but that’s CU they’re riding to a certain power they’re not

Even racing they’re just doing their thing getting a nice workout in uh so the usuals at the front wyverns hinsbergen Adam pel and forb I haven’t seen that name lately in muckers but I’ve seen that name a lot on ruy uh HJ 2010 looks like let’s uh let’s make our way back

Down through here rubber burn was uh placed quite High last week too on the Thursday race player 981 Dave H new name to me we got Luca chasing after them Manu well I’m pretty sure a huge pack of right here’s Andy up on screen right now Dr

Custard I’ve seen this guy before uh think Dr custard rides with Steven a lot and uh hoppy I think they’re all part of the sorry the the Farnum Club I was looking at Hal A’s name there and I know Hal a as well that may me want to say harnum for a second

There uh few more new names a wool there’s Dr kustard uh there’s chorus well yeah there’s tons of people here I just saw Yano peruta bat Builder was in the Thursday race uh there was team Oho I keep wanting to say team Mojo but I think

It’s team Oho I think they had a disconnect last week and I’ve been told that they they’re struggling with their setup right now so yeah I’m just going to fly to the back see how many starters we actually had so we’re back to 109 here this is a guest

Rider pretty good like I think 141 were in and we got 109 on online so we do have 108 on board uh wow this name here let’s just say this is the Big W back here uh wge WJ uh yeah we’re going with that just cruising along right now

Bringing up the rear we’ve also got Shabba shaba 1980 I think shaba ranks from the 80s if anyone remembers that lots of names at the back I’ve never seen before so obviously there’s a lot of new people coming in to ride with muckers got two Riders here together uh maawa and uh

Rodriguez Eric Laris up the road uh we got Tom van hor hori Tom Tom van hori okay that’s terrible pronunciation I’m sorry Tom he just snapped a chain he’s waiting for his team car to come up uh kedra another new name wow there’s so many new people here lots of new

Recruits I love it VR M tore vord Nick huddle so here’s keny last week I did call out last week I thought I saw I saw two people with the same name KY uh we got three of them three Riders here ky Ivan and Dennis riding together

With like tons of people kovski right here kovski I know this character uh reached out to me uh several times through my YouTube channel oh yeah inside cycling world if if you like the videos jump on board I got a ton of stuff in there uh I love the racing I think

That’s my favorite thing to do is the racing I kind of started out just doing tutorial videos and stuff like that I love doing the racing I love doing the commentary uh I also like finding like I don’t want to say lesser know routes because I’m sure the the majority of

Ridden them I just don’t find they’re being ridden anymore so I like to go ride them now uh I just saw Mr McFly there yeah yeah tons of new names here that I’ve never seen shrew Blinky Bob I think I might have seen that name before robodo

SAA God did I just kill that ralo SAA that might that might be better yeah another great bunch of people I see script net up ahead you know I’m always looking out for script net I don’t know why that name just fascinates me I’d love to hear the origin story behind it

Script net out front saying I’m riding by myself today so take a little look at the map here scrit and leading a huge pack of riders so again I think a lot of people here do different rides hey here silly sill right out front uh sfly as well slyfly another

Rider I know quite well now uh we’ve got uh Simon Boulevard just out ahe and panic another name I’ve seen a lot Ruby bran I’ve seen all these ganera everyone here I’ve seen before these are all Jeff 65 just popped up on screen here as well uh another great

Group here Jeff 65 had 75 rtim uh who else am I seeing here a few new names oh there’s Hellcat 2020 in this Bunch too so we got some really nice groups forming here this is what I like to see one two 3 four five six

Seven eight maybe a ninth Rider just off the front hellcat’s just going to go say hi to his uh his old grandma and grandpa that live up the road this group’s here letting them go off the front a little bit he’s going to give them a little hug

Have a little sip something and uh kiss Granny on the cheek and then they’re off again right those were the classic tur of France days if you remember that throw something into the comments um and I know everyone here follows cycling a lot and we all love it

I just remember in the 80s when I first started watching cycling it was something that no one did here I shouldn’t say no one obviously cuz I’m in Canada this hockey hockey hockey hockey hockey hockey I never played hockey I played street hockey street hockey use tennis ball hockey

Sticks goal Nets you play in the middle of the street cars come by you try not to get hit by cars uh but my true love was cycling and I remember way back when I want to see comments on this who remembers the magazine winning I’m sure lots of people

Here do no one I know would have ever heard of it but I lived for that magazine when it would come out once a month I would rip to the uh the bookstore at the time maybe it was Kohl’s or wh Smith or something at the

Big mall here in Calgary and I would find that winning magazine I remember it’s little yellow border it had back in the day and that’s where I’d get all my source of cycling back in uh and and catching you know uh we’re jumping to the front aleno 79 leading

The way oh aleno 79 I’m glad I kind of went on a tangent there my Formula 1 tangent uh cycling tangent from the the the older days I guess uh aleno has gone on a tear here let’s see if this holds up now aleno is a solid Rider watched them last

Week on Thursday I believe didn’t see them on the Tuesday Gil Mato pursuing uh you a quarter of a kilometer back we got a bunch of riders back there right now I can see oh wow there’s tons this is a huge group at the front

Yeah huge group at the front we need to go back and take a look at this one here I think uh so Adams just off the back of the front group I don’t know if Adams just drifted back or they’re bridging up hopefully bridging up here

To catch up with uh hbur and at the front here uh and Tom Tom’s riding strong today too uh and I don’t know much about a lot of these Riders and I’m just calling on the fly so you know take it for what it is uh

The last time I saw Tom riding they were riding more just mid pack uh so you never know what you’re going to see when you watch some of these races these rides some people are just riding they said hey I’m riding three watts per kilo last week and today Tom’s at the front

With the big boys pushing four watts per kilo great job uh we got Mark V here Andy ammo that’s a new one for me too uh m4b again like I said so I’m thinking here let’s take a quick look at the map um eleno has been allowed to go away

Maybe I think these guys are like okay let’s just let him dangle out front see what happens here so here’s Gran and then you’ve got eleno just up the road here lots of riders TR trailing him behind us too let’s zip back so aleno is yeah you know definitely just moving

Away maybe uh you know one up front’s like Hey we’re doing a four to five WT ride and aleno says nah I’m doing a 5 to six aleno looks to be quite the lightweight Rider and is currently moving away so yeah I forgot to mention we are in

Ashborne um so today’s stage I remember when this went down I did catch the live footage of it this started in Murray bridge I believe it’s called and it goes to a little town called Port Elliot which is on like you know the very Southern Edge it’s you know Adelaide is

To the north um Port Elliot to me looks close enough that it could almost be what you would consider a bedroom community to uh Adelaide I mean adela’s quite the big city it’s funny when you look at some of the stuff the Geography about uh Australia they have so many big cities

Like they’re big like Calgary is the biggest city in Alberta and I think it’s like 1.3 million people I could be out by a little bit there uh it’s a big City it stretched out over a huge area but I mean if you look at Australia’s City

List they’re huge like all the cities are like 23 million people each um and it makes sense if I was to live in Australia I wouldn’t want to live in the middle um I think if you look online you can look at some uh geography more than half of Australia is technically

Considered by the climate uh not the climate um there’s a definition yeah I guess it would be climates it’s called copin something or other someone helped me out here I wish I was I actually do wish I was doing this live because someone could just comment now you know

It’s like your climate description like arctic tundra Tiga whatever maybe uh more than half of Australia is technically considered to be a desert so all of the people that went there and all the people that are you know the cities that are booming are all on the edges where it’s slightly cooler

Around the edges where you’re going to have some uh cooling effect from the oceans anyway just uh another little tangent I’ve been going on here let’s see what’s going on out looks like eleno is just kind of deciding to take it a little bit easy maybe they

Don’t want to be out this long out front by themselves we’ll uh truck back here wyverns mark bark hburg and all together oh we’ve got a couple little splits here so we got aeno by themselves that we’ve got three Riders hburg and wyvern’s markart about 20 meters back to Gil mtio

I think he could close that if easily if you want it Mark uh Carol susic is right with Gil Mato Andy ammo looks like he’s coming up right now on them uh yeah just like a little gaps were forming there for some reason Gran m4b grep gp’s another Rider who I think

When I watched them last week they were riding more mid pack type riding uh obviously pushing a little bit harder today everyone’s kind of just doing their own thing so let’s uh I do you know I do like to look at some of the people further back

See what’s going on here so these are people we’ve lost along the way they’ve had some kind of Disconnect uh this Rider here toin 007 I’m looking at toin right now with how strong they’re actually riding I think this person started probably late to the

Event uh you know this looks like a good solid Rider here pushing at 4 and2 watts per kilo they shouldn’t be this far back so this Rider jumped into the event late and you can see we’ve lost a couple more people ahead here uh okay so we got smoke chasing

After Rodriguez so these three these two are all together with they’re with Eric labar now want to make sure I catch everyone here here’s o Zinda o Zinda Trucking Along by themselves but you know just a couple hundred meters in your direction Robbie Doo Oh Robbie Do’s broke down Nick huddle by themselves

Just doing their thing they got they got like 300 meters in either direction to get into a group looks like Nick might be able to pull back tore ahead of them so we got tore here uh VR man harm har har hilco yeah again all new names hey here’s

Stelvio Bound Again uh pursuing ravy oh here’s a nice little group here I like these let’s have a little Zoom so this is the Stelio bound group here I’m guessing there’s probably seven eight Riders here all together yeah we got ravney J G kiny uh this

Is oh Andreas and Claus oh God how can I I can’t say that uh Ivan 02 we have the numbered character with Z on the end Dennis 1993 yeah really nice group here working together and the marcker is just up the road 300 meters with a nice

Group Mikey 3 escarcha the chairman the Chairman’s uh almost at every single event I’ve seen so far Swiss Chris 69s there Ren P Dolph waiter this is a nice group here this yeah this would be a great group to hang out in you know you could ride in this

Group get nice drafts and work at 2.5 watts per kilo all day and just Cruise along everyone’s getting a nice draft here taking their turns take your turn go to the front we’ve got Keel 27 by themselves off the front not sure what ke’s doing here if they’re riding with this group but

They’re pulling away they’re getting pulled back uh another new name haven’t seen them before let’s keep jumping here we got Carol 27 uh Vincent we’ got three riters here with Adam Z jumping ahead again we got Blinky Bob gredo shrew I mean these they can all see each other Mick

Kovski here’s a new name dros one in a nice pack again with Ramjet ganera RAB balaa I think I said that better this time Mr McFly and the infinus uh script net off the front still cruising along passing El bord I just like uh I like seeing script

Andet name and I like his little curm at the Frog uh logo it’s always going to be a stand up for me Cav one bar uh this is a a female Rider here looking strong at the moving up right now pushing good chasing rocket

Roy looks like Cass one bar I I kept I want to say kazzy bar maybe that’s kazzy bar uh yeah she’s not messing around today I think she’s moving strong oh and just up ahead we got silly sill you know so I I’m not sure how the

Tuesday races work but there’s a total point standing going on in the mucker series and obviously you’re going to have a men’s division and you’re going to have a women’s division and then within that there’s going to be subdivisions of age groups I’m not sure

If we get down to weight groups uh you know if you can’t if you’re too heavy maybe you need to lose some weight or you know what I’m saying right uh but I’m pretty sure they break it out by age groups and looks like could it be kazzy

Bar is trying to get back up here uh to keep an eye on silly sill uh silly Sill’s very strong Rider these two uh would be in some kind of points competition I’m going imagin kazy bar going by and I know her name is

Cwan bar I just like to see kazy bar got a nice ring to it slyly just up ahead okay well we’re going to jump back to the front here eleno 79 is just kind of slowly moving away I think this is kind of a more of a a

Recovery and I don’t want to say a a total rest day for these folks because if I was up here with Gil Mato and Andy ammo and hinsbergen yeah I would be uh probably calling 911 uh to get the ambulance here because they’re still riding you know four or

Five watts per kilo all the way so uh that’s just how good these folks at the front are to be able to ride four and five watts per kilo all the time so have a quick look at the map looks like everything’s came back together at the front too before they

Were really scattered out for some reason there must have been a little bump in the road let’s check this out here this is I like these little things when you can see the road uh turning and see everyone Trucking up behind them so you’ve got aleno 79 by themselves and if

You go back like 470 80 meters we’ve got uh six Riders Andy Gil wyverns Carol markvart and hburg and chasing at that point we’re going to jump back to Gran uh you can see the map just rotated on us there Gran is with Neils Brenham grep uh Tom M forby so

Just little groups start form that’s GP there if we jump back just another 75 M we’ve got Adam pel uh rubber bur I think it’s rubber bur Mark oh rubber Mark okay and Mike guener jumping further back player 918 Dave Diego dady HJ 201010 so tons of groups here you can

Just see them all scattered down the road so we C to this town the front group is kind of coming up on the first climb of the day I don’t I’m not expecting fireworks for some reason I’m just thinking this is going to be more of a chill ride day

Maybe they’re setting themselves up for something just gigantic and massive on Thursday you know what now that I just said that out loud sometimes I’m not the brightest uh this is stage four of the tour down under I know for a fact that stage five

Of the T Down Under under is Wonga Hill and shall we guess that tur down under stage five is this Thursday in the mucker series could it be is that possible that’s when the fireworks are going to go off is up Wonga Hill uh I hope so and I’m definitely catching that one

Too so yeah uh aleno is just uh hitting the start of the climb you can actually see the climb in the distance here just slowly moving up now this is nothing serious like I’m guessing ing that this kind of a climb here wouldn’t even get a rating uh cat whatever you know that’s

What amazes me too when you watch the uh the T FR jro WTA whatever you may be watching and you know it’ll show oh there’s a cat 2 cat 3 then a cat one finished with another cat one you forget you miss all the climbing well I

I mean I know a lot of us that watch it realize this look at aleno here 7 watts per kilo I guess they’re on a mission today uh it’s not just those climbs there’s a ton of climbing in between that you never see or they decide yeah we didn’t

Categorize that climb today so there’ll be little climbs that are like three km things like this things that are like 2 to 3 km long at of 3% gradient 4% gradient that never get classified just they’re just kind of forgotten about but the Riders got to do

Them so yeah we got a huge bunch here I mean you know I everyone’s so close together here we’re going to jump back this is the Gil Mato group looks like they’re starting to pursue now I wonder if they’re going to get serious here and chase after aleno

Because aleno has got that uh 400 meter lead Gil Mato pushing six watts per kilo wyvern’s right up there too hensbergen we’ve got uh five six Riders Carol just slipping off the back right now in sixth place Andy ammo is falling off the back of these Riders too I

Wonder if there’s an acceleration there caught a few people out uh and he’s here not far behind like 20 meters behind Carol at this point just want to go back to Gil here for a second we got Gil hensbergen wyverns and markvart kind of the four chasing eleno slowly reeling them in slowly

Reeling them in wonder you know I’m trying to decide is this deliberate uh were they holding back on purpose were they letting eleno go by themselves let him dangle out front right hm fascinating just going to quickly zip back I’m not going to miss the rest noon

Seen this name before or noon knock knock on not really sure uh Riding Solo that’s for sure but being chased by another newcomer uh draft man I’ve never seen this person before it’s not to say they’re not a regular but I know this name here uh rafo I know squalo de

Alp uh we’ve got Hellcat 2020 just a couple hundred meters behind them here’s a name uh liba janusek riding with a nice group here of Taquito rtim this looks like a rider I don’t know h75 and uh Jeff 65 here just cruising along today Tom kren Regina

L okay good to see all these new names M Leon 23 as I called out before Panic Simon boulevar so lots of riders here let’s have another Peak what’s going on up front so aleno still pushing six wats per kilo there is a Chase I think they’re chasing him I

Think they’ve decided now we’re not letting them get away but you it’s got a 500 meter buffer 430 meter buffer sorry about that uh yeah so aleno 79 current situation in the lead with a 430 meter lead over hensbergen wyverns markvart Mato Mark Bart looks like a super strong

Rider up here this is a new Rider to me anyways hanging at the front with the big guns great to see this carol Suk just a few meters behind them Andy ammo has been just uh falling back a little bit couple hundred meters back now looks

Like Andy’s going to be picked up by Adam pel let’s take a look at this Adam’s a very strong Rider watched them last week so here it is Adam pel is now picking up Andy ammo will Andy ammo go with Adam will they work together uh and rubber burn mark is

Not that far behind either I think if they want to you know uh stick together here might be work better as a team so rubberman Mark is going to come up from behind two and pass oh look Andy wants to get on this wheel here you can see it Andy’s like

I’m getting on this wheel now get that draft there would be there’ll be a little bit of draft here not very much we’re at 5% right it might be a tiny bit of draft but more of it’s just a mental draft rubber Burns uh yeah hanging on to

Adam pel here hopefully they can work together move up going to go back right to the front here see what’s going on so this is hensbergen chasing after Leno so yeah they’re they’re pulling them back now let’s see if this lead uh goes back the other way depending with the gradients

Of the Hill which it might because it looks like it’s getting flatter at the top in the next section but it does steepen up again so hensbergen has pulled eleno back to 350 M so you know they claw back 70 to 80 meters at this point uh wyverns is there

Mark V’s still there and Gil Mato Carol Suk in there as well there’s basically five Riders at the front little bit of gaps opening chasing one and then we jump back to Adam pel rubber burs rubber bur Mark SP anti ammo is just hanging on here to uh

SP I mean this is a big effort here uh four watts per kilo out of Andy uh Andy looks to be not an extreme lightweight Rider uh more of in my category of riders pushing out some good power here up this long grind excellent work M forb Chase coming

Up behind uh Andy as well with uh Tom LGI a I’m I’m sure I’m just butchering the name but Mike guener not too far behind either with grep so yeah this is this is like the four watt per kilo club right here all the way up this grind uh Gran coming up

Fast too with Neil brinham so I want to get back right to the very front now so eleno is flying away eleno has got over the top and it’s just going to drop down a tiny bit boost the speed up is going to lengthen that distance again between themselves
